It's weird because they gave Ryan Choi a suit for like one scene but didn't think wally needed a new suit for the episode he was in. That's an Eric Wallace moment right there.
Just got back from the Reddit page and according to Justin Monk not only were there were more scenes of Ryan Choi's Atom Suit that got deleted but also apparently there was a spin off in the works. This would explain why his suit only appeared in one scene
Even then, the Ryan Choi Atom suit was just a recolored version of Grant's RF suit if I recall correctly, and I agree just to clarify, odd choice all around. But that might explain how they allowed an Atom suit, it's pretty much a Flash suit with other colors so it was probably cheaper to do than what they wanted to do for Wally.
@@ivanagustinortiz5237 No it isn't. It uses a lot of the same design elements but it isn't the same suit. If you put them next to each other they are not the same suit. I thought the same thing when I looked at it originally but there are a lot of differences between the two suits. Like I said same design elements like the cowl ect but the actual suit has different shoulders different chest elements. So they just took what they learned making Barry's suit and applied the same logical approach to Choi's suit.
One thing related to the costumes on the show that I really appreciate was the redesign that CCPD received beginning with season 2. I recently discovered, by watching the 1990 Flash show, that CCPD's badge and uniforms from season 2 onwards are directly inspired by and almost identical to their badge and uniforms from the 1990 show. I just think that's really cool that they decided to pay homage in that way, and it also gave CCPD a much more unique look with the triangular badge and gray uniforms and more creative paint job on the patrol cars, compared to the fairly generic look of all those things in season 1.
I think it looked cooler when he would take his cowl off and it hung down instead of no mask and a turtle neck..little subtle things like that make the show visually more attractive
I like the Flash Season 4 suit because it was the brighter red version of seasons 2 and 3 with gold belt. It would've been better if the gold boots were included with season 4 suit.
Yes I have advocated for years for Wally to have taken over for Barry at the start of Season 4. With a new Flash suit. Even if it was only for a short stint for like 5 episodes before Barry returned it would ahve been really awesome for Wally to have gotten a new suit.
My favorite arrowverse suit is that of godspeed, it looks so good and the gold details makes everything perfect aswell as the mask and the lightning bolt ears
Out of the last 4 season suit, the first 8 episodes of season 6 had the best cowl. I never really liked how the later suits connected, as well as how they made the zipper much more obvious on the back after
My top 3 suits in no particular order are Flash S8/9, Superman & Lois S3, and Savitar. Zoom would be the runner-up from those even though I'm not a fan of the leather speedster suits.
Best Arrowverse suits of all time: Superman and Lois main Superman costume. Also, I LOVED the Fleischer Superman costume as well. Obscure choices: (strictly speaking they aren't straight up costumes): King Shark and Atom Smasher. (King Shark looked way cooler than in The Suicide Squad and I loved the comic-accurate look of Atom Smasher vs. the Black Adam version of Atom Smasher).
I absolutly love Flash season 4 suit but I’ve always been tied against two others ti be my favourites, I love both Vibes and Firestorms from Legends (I hate Mecha Vibe) but that’s just an opinion
That is Eric Wallace's fault. He was the showrunner and made all the decisions. Even when he was just brought in as a writer the quality of the show started to drop. Then the original showrunner left and he got the job. It is why characters he created like Alegra got so much time and focus because he created her for the comics and when he became show runner he put her into the show. It is simple the person with the most creative control on a series is the showrunner. They will be the root cause for a lot of the bad. A bad episode specific writer a bad season the showrunner.
Why would you be embarrassed of yourself if your career was improving and you were getting more roles than just a supporting character on a tv show. His schedule is why he wasn't on the show as much. I'd love for him to have been on more as I am a Wally's tenure as the Flash over Barry's. I'm just not seeing why someone should be embarrassed for their career improving.
best arrow verse suit is by far the crisis kingdom come routhe suit. I also think the new guardian suit deserves a major shout out it doesn't get enough credit
Mine is Roy’s Red Arrow suit and Wally’s kid Flash suit was great but I would’ve loved if Wally had gotten the silver suit and if Roy stayed on Arrow then he would’ve gotten a new suit too. What do you think Pagey ?
One thing that's really telling about this report: It's to no ones surprise that the show had a budget issue when it came to flashy (pun not intended) scenes with amazing cgi. . . seeing all the suits the show had where it was constantly reinventing the wheel, repetitively so. . . . I feel like they coulda just skipped changing the suits for the sake of budget and as a result, coulda gotten a much higher production out of their limited budget. But then again, catering to the whims of the actors rather than a singular writer/director is arguably one of the bigger downfalls of this series.
Do you have a grudge against the actors on the show or something? It didn't say anything about catering to their whims. If it was uncomfortable they made adjustments but that's pretty much it. As far as making new suits for each season. They do that for merchandising in part so people have to buy the new version. It also distinguishes each season by which suit he's wearing. Having the same suit for 9 years would have been stupid. Lastly, in your mind how much does a suit cost to make? Doing one new suit per year is nothing. Each suit cost around $$5,000-$10,000 and the budget per episode was around $3 million. Skipping the suit wouldn't make much of a dent in the overall budget.
they really could’ve stuck with season 4 suit until maybe season 6 or 7 and if it stayed until season 7 then they could’ve applied the suit change into the story by saying that the suit reserves speedforce energy while being able to run just as fast as before and stuff
Why there wasn't different versions of kid flash from different worlds is a crime..I wish they would do a wally spinoff...hell he even has his own reverse flash ..one season could be vs red headed wally
The actors career was growing which is why he left the show and only came back for an episode here and there. I have long wanted anther version of Wally to be treated like Inertia out of insanity and jealousy to be an antagonist would have been interesting twist on the evil speedster. Only Inertia is an unstable clone this Wally would have just been a different timeline or different worlds Wally driven insane by being trapped in the speedforce for to him seemed like decades. I always wanted Wally to take over during season 4. Barry being trapped in the Speed Force at the end season 3 opened that up easily. Why they were figuring out how to get Barry back we could have gotten Wally even for a short stint as the Flash. His costume would have to be different than Barry's just by the size difference. So we could add Wally elements like his hair being exposed a brighter shade of red. The lightning bolt being different on the chest and ears.
I think I liked the older suits better when they were more leather season 1, 2 to 4 or 5 till they started using the newer material I hate to call it spandex
Looking back re worse flash should have been around grants age...reverse flash was awesome...it would just kinda make more sense and again different versions with different people for reverse flash all over the multiverse
It might have been a different reason besides cost as to why they didn’t want to make a new suit for wally. and the reason I say this is because cecile got a new suit that was only used for the final 2 episodes, the same amount of time that wally would have used the new suit. Also the new atom (Ryan) suit was used for one episode.
Ryan's suit looked a lot like a dyed version of one of Barry's, which is a lot cheaper than creating a new one from scratch. As for Cecile, it helps when you're the show runner's favorite character.
@@andyh4518 For being such a fan fave she never even got her own character poster. You know, like how Felicity got her own back in S4. That's what being the showrunner's favourite looks like. Guggenheim knows a lot about that.
Probably has something to do with Keiynan Lonsdale not being available through 2021 and 2022 which was for S7 and S8 because he was busy with other projects and couldn't make it to Vancouver to shoot. He no longer was a series regular from a long time and was only appearing for one episode since S5 and forward. They needed a longer set of episodes for an arc and for him to be free to end up getting it. Best example is Meena Dhawan who we met in 8x17 and went through a character arc with the Negative Speed Force and the good Eobard so it ends up with her getting her suit in the penultimate episode of S8. I think that's what it comes down to, availability from Keiynan. And they had shorter episodes in S9. Cecile was a series regular since S5, Wally stopped being one since S4. So that's worth considering too.
The New Atom suit was made for a new show that never got created. So there was logical budget reasons why he got a suit. He even had more scenes film and planned that got cut from his appearance. Again because he was supposed to get a spin off show of his own. Wally never getting a new suit was a shame. I know the actor wasn't able to return because his career was growing. It just sucks because his suit design with the jacket over the cowl always made for a fatter neck. I always wanted him to take over for Barry in season 4 for the start of the season till they rescued Barry from the Speed Force. That way he would have gotten his own Flash costume instead of Kid Flash one.
Maybe someone like Lucas Till. That way we'll have an actor in the role who actually looks like the character from the comics and can play the part well. While Grant Gustin and to a much lesser extent, Ezra Miller did a good job portraying the character, neither one of them looked like Barry Allen from the comics. Barry Allen is blond. Lucas Till is the closest actor in appearance and talent to portray the Flash accurately in terms of capturing the look and personality.
Maybe Grant was just more used to wearing a spandex, form-fitting costume than Tom and that's why Tom was a bit stiff while wearing it compared to Grant
It of all of them I think the reverse flashes yellow costume with the red boots was just ripped right out the comics it the original looked amazing but the new one was peak
