From a squidaholic, all your suggestions were spot on. Especially counting to determine bottom depth. The first thing I do when starting, is to drop my jig straight down and count (one thousand one,one thousand two, etc) the time when the jag hits the bottom. Now I know the depth and count one less when throwing out which keeps the jig one to two feet above the sea grass.
Cheers for the feedback and sharing that knowledge mate! There are a lot of different tips and tricks I didn’t get to cover so I’ll be making another one soon which goes a little bit more in-depth and nerdy 🤓 much love 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Well done on such a great video, I personally love squid fishing. And having new ideas and technics on catch them is great! Keep up the great work and will hopefully get to see you out there one day!
Jordan would love to know what app you are using for the tides thanks and you definitely need to range to take me out for a fish it your day off works with my day off if you're still At the port You know what the port stands for.
@@JordanSAFishing Especially I need to learn how to tie proper hooks. You're doing really well Jordan good on ya hope everything's going well with you as well. 😊
Jordan would like to know have you ever considered what type of hook goes to that proper fishing not that it can work best for and how long it should be the leader line from your main line and how to rig it all up what's the best equipment that you need for that type of fishing. As there is a lot of people that say that A snail knot is good but it depends on the hook you're stink and they aren't good for like circle hawks or things like that and proper way.
The best hooks I have used for smaller type fish or the size 10 Mustads hooks in the long shank. I use about a meter and a half of leader on the end of my braid. I also use an Albright knot for that.
@@JordanSAFishing it seems that on all the good days for fishing, I'm working unfortunately 😥. I drove to Brighton around 4am this morning having only 4hrs sleep, it was very breezy and choppy, so I turned around and went home back to bed instead. I made the biggest mistake and didn't check wind conditions on my Willy weather app yesterday evening 🤦♂️. Oh well, here's to looking forward to the Xmas break, hopefully we'll be in for some cracking fishing conditions then.
This guy yes he might know how to catch squid but clearly with some things he still need teaching! Everyone who watches this video listen to me when I say this when you catch a squid put them in a bucket of water don't kill them with a karate chop if you do that the squid won't spit out all its ink and they will be harder to clean let them die naturally in water in a bucket first if you want good tasting squid but if you want to taste ink then yeah karate chop them like a idiot!!!
Everyone has their different ways of harvesting their squid. You may not like to do it the humane way, but myself and many other anglers do so. I’d rather put a squid out of its misery than let it suffer for hours for it to taste a bit ‘better’. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
So letting an animal stress and panic to the max makes it taste better? If you look at every other species of fish on the planet, dispatching them quickly and as humanely as possible, then putting them on ice actually helps the quality of your catch rather than letting them suffer and roast in a bucket. If your squid are tasting inky, maybe learning how to properly clean your catch might be the way to go.
Letting a squid spit out all its ink is the correct way of cleaning squid When people go fishing it's for eating or sport u don't go fishing to make them r pets I did like ur tips on how to catch squid double 👍👍 for that However maybe do some research on what to do after u catch what ur fishing for before giving advise on how to kill ur catch Keep at it we learn something new everyday
Love the kid that mentioned the 3 SA fishing goats; AlexsFishin, Jordan and David sheldon
