heyyy:) to all the ppl telling me i used the dupe wrong and didn’t try…first off thank you for your constructive criticism. second, i went off camera for like 30 minutes to try and get that thing to work. didn’t wrap the hair around it at all, didn’t curl it even if i held it there, and i tried lots of different sized sections (also it smelled horrible and i had a massive headache after this vid lol). it just didn’t work and is a waste of money. i don’t lie in my videos bc what’s the point in doing that. thank you for watching ily
Im sorry but you definitely didn't try it for 30 mins....your hair looks exactly the same the entire end of the video! I have that exact dupe version and it's not as powerful as the dyson but it definitely does work...your hair was too wet and you took too big of a section....my opinion it looks like you were nervous about it which is 100 percent understandable but don't say you went off camara and tried for 30 mins cuz I doubt it!
Just take her word for it. People have different hair types, it may have worked for you but it might just not have worked for her.
@@katherineg2384 that’s wonderful for you love!! i have gotten hundreds of dms of people telling and showing me that theirs caught on fire or simply didn’t work after i published this video. what would i gain from lying that a product just does not work? honestly let me know if you know. if you don’t want to believe me that i went off camera and tried for a pretty long time, that’s on you not me.

@@katherineg2384 I bought a $69.99 dupe and I have short, thick hair. IT DOES NOT WORK. I agree with her on the smell and the air “force” needed to wrap my hair around the barrel is just not there. Glad your dupe works but for many it just does not no matter how many tries we do.
Also if her hair looks the same she could have been spritzing it down with water or decided to try it again AFTER ending the video.
The fact that you took a brief intermission to bring your brother in and just floof up 3 pieces of his hair and then were like “ok you can go now” 😂😂😂

I've been using and loving mine for 2 years now. Definitely worth it for my hair type.
The reason why Dyson is better is because it has a chip that controls the heat levels whereas with your regular equipment i.e straighteners/curlers/dryers and so on have no such chip that monitors/controls the heat. Moreover the Dyson is designed to be a DIY machine where you can easily style your hair with no assistance. But ultimately, the main reason Dyson is far superior is because of their no 'heat' damage claim.
PS- There are different ways to use the barrel when it comes to styling but the standard way to use it is way different than the way you've used it.
I have had a brush blowdryer lets say :D and the difference between it and the dyson is .. at the end of my hair blowout the dyson one has like 3 or 4 hairs as the cheap one has half of my hair on it.. I was amazed by the dyson

I know the point of this video isn’t about products, however Kayli mentioned the Olaplex oil. Frizzy hair has been a lifelong battle for me and these products have given me smooth NO FRIZZ hair. If you’re interested, try the Olaplex shampoo AND No 6 Bond Smoother. The bond smoother is like magic! Oh how I wish I had these products in junior high and high school!! For coarse hair conditioning I use two products. I have my hair colored so I use the Moroccan Gold Series Treatment Mask. This is a thick product and comes in a jar. The price is quite shocking, HOWEVER, you don’t have to use as much product. Start off with a quarter size and lightly rub the product between your hands and apply to the ends, whether you have short or long hair. I put a vinyl bonnet on my hair to hold in the heat from my scalp and rinse it out whenever I’m ready to. After I’ve used my flat iron there are a couple of places that still frizz, I don’t know why? So, I use Moroccan Gold Leave In Mask. It is in a bottle with a spray top. I apply it to those pesky areas of frizz and use my fingers to piece the top out to get a slightly messy look. I’m going to look at the Dyson flat iron vids next!

I have natural thick curly hair and I've always just straightened it so my curls dropped a lot 🤣 i ended up biting the bullet and got the airwrap, definitely going to embrace my curls a lot more with it, i could never style my hair by myself and the airwrap makes that possible for me

In the meanwhile, get a good leave in product (definitely a heat protection one too), a decent hairdryer and a good quality round brush (longer hair=bigger barrel) and practice with it! Once a week or twice a week try to do your hair when you're just at home. You'll get the hang of it in 2 months, i swear!
You should try the conair hair curler its so good with a little hair spray it keeps your curls long lasting all day even while your sleeping

I have been wanting a dyson, so I bought a dupe to try out first. The dupe melted while I was using it, and burned my finger! On the lowest setting! It promptly went in the trash!!

I have both of them the dyson and that exact dupe....it's definitely works but the dyson is more powerful. If you want the benefits of the dyson i.e. technology, better for your hair go dyson but the Dupe does get the job done ...

It takes a little time to bring the curls back for some people after straightening it a lot but so worth it to try! Shea Moisture Hibiscus its like a coral pink packaging is the best one Ive found for wavy curls. Save you some time when you do try it.

This is late, but a lot of them don’t have an official name or brand on them anywhere. There are some alternatives that are branded and work well. There’s even some generic none branded ones that end up working fine. With the dupe you purchased, I would suggest having your hair 80% dry, taking smallish sections and starting the wrap at the ends rather than the mids or roots. That way it can grab hold of the ends first. From reviews and tutorials I’ve seen (I’ve been binging a bunch), that seems to be the best technique for both the dupes and the dyson.
I wish mines turned out like this guess depends on hair …mines is curly and think the dyson did not keep the curl n the brush did not make it straight my hair was frizzy…I tried everything after two weeks I returned it $500 not worth it to me personally
The point of getting Dyson is that the tools do the job while protecting or not damaging your hair. Many other tools also do the job but damage your hair. If you only care about styling your hair, go with any tools, but if protecting your hair is the primary concern, Dyson is the best choice. For me, Dyson is the winner.

I bought it and it does not work for my hair type at all. I have super fine, super curly hair. It just gave my frizzy curl, I looked like a lion. The revlon one-step worked way better but of course isn't as good for my hair. Returned the dyson though cause it didn't work :(
For super curly hair you need a lot of tension! I see you already returned it but if for some reason you end up with it again i have some tips that might work better for your hair
@@Chelsea-fo4jy My main problem with it was I couldn't get enough tension because none of the brushes had bristles that were close enough together and my hair is about as fine as baby hair and so it just wouldn't grab it. Happy it works for others though, plus it's just too much money for the fact that I rarely style my hair lol
