  • In today's video, I install a new carburetor on the Can-Am DS250 that I bought off eBay and find out if Chinese carburetors are really bad or not.

Could be a fuel delivery issue bud, id check and see if your petcock on the fuel tank is plugged and shine a flashlight down into the bottom of the tank and see if there is a bunch of dirt or sediment in there which keeps on clogging up your jets and possibly the petcock as well.... Never hurts to throw an inkine fuel filter between the tank and carb also if you do have a bunch of junk in your tank just take it off and filter it into a bucket through an old t shirt or something that catches all the stuff you don't want in there and you can still re-use that expensive gas after you clean the tank out real well and filter the crap out of it just dump it back in and run errr!

I'm messing with mine now. Only runs on choke so I got to pull it apart n see what's up. I think just a plugged jet cause she dies immediately as I put it to run

You ever figure your problem out? I’m having the same problem with mine now already cleaned out the gas tank cleaned the carb and it’s still the same

I did a bunch of research, apparently these all run super lean from the factory which is why they run perfect on about half choke, I put the old carb back on and just run it like that.

@@GasGuzler gotcha well on this one idk what’s wrong with it it started with it sitting for about 3 months and when I turned it on it would barely want to idle and run good on choke(Used to run real good) and so I ended up getting tired and bought a carb rebuild kit all new jets and everything and it keeps running the same cleaned out the gas tank new filter everything. These don’t have gas pumps right? And now I’m trying to figure out how to set the carb air bleed and fuel

@@armandoruelas3450 No fuel pump, it’s gravity fed. And mine started doing the same thing yesterday, I think the carbs on these just need to be cleaned regularly.

@@armandoruelas3450 it's the screws on the side of the carb. U just have to adjust until it's right. The left screw. Turn all the way in till u feel it bottom out then back out 2.5 turns. The left screw in the middle is just the idle so adjust as needed. It's basically a back n forth between the 2 screws. If u adjust 1 then u kinda have to move the other. It's a balance game is all. I Kno it seems frustrating at first until u understand what's going on with your bike. I was the same as u were

@@GasGuzler put a fuel filter on it and you will never have carb issues. I also use from time to time that Lucas oil mechanic in a bottle to keep the fuel system clean n lubed. It really does work wonders I suggest in trying some and use 93 octane not the cheapest stuff u can find. That in itself will make the quad drive better. Also move up to the better spark plug which is iridium. Cr8eix or something like that it is

When you take off stuff on the muffler you need to re jet the carb !!

It was doing it before I removed the baffle, I also found out that these were jetted to run extremely lean from the factory which was the cause of all that in the first place.
