From the vanilla game itself, the Pickman's blade, Rockville slugger and The Last Minute are some of the top tier weapons that are awesome even in survival...But great list and kudos to covering next gen update👍🏻
Thank you, I appreciate that. It so happens that Pickmans Blade was something I was looking into today in hopes of covering I'm a future video. It's a solid weapon for sure and deadly in Sneak mode.
i have a small problem with the piggy fat man, Marvin blown himself by shooting me in close range and now his weapon may be in the space or somewhere else
If your not able to find the weapon then its not a bad thing as you can craft one yourself. Just get a standard Fatman and try to mod it using a weapons workbench. You will have the option to add thr Piggy Launcher to it yourself.
The best weapon by far is spray n pray. Early game, easy access, cheap ammo, it has it all. The only ones that are better in all scenarios you'd have to farm for them, like the explosive handmade rifle (a better version of spray n pray) or the instigatig gauss rifle
It's a great weapon for sure but it would be boring to say 'get the weapon and your sorted'. And that's why I tried to show a variety of weapons to hopefully suit different playstyles.
@@TrappedInFallout I understand. I figured after that maybe this weapon, due to it's long way of getting it wasn't really suited for a video like this. Very well put video, I recon the effort put ! Nice channel I discovered ;)

No problem at all Drew, I hope it helped. I've been thinking about making a similar guide but for Power Armor instead. Thanks for your comment and feedback.
If you have some of the creation club content the Manwell Rifles are great guns. I like the Manwell Carbine, does less damage then the Rifle outright, but the Carbine has the Lucky legendary effect for 2X strength and 15% faster recharge on crits, where the rifle only has a Hunters effect. Currently I'm using the Ultimatum, a Classic 10mm that deals additional radiation damage obtained through the Tunnel Snakes Rule pack. Actually really loving this gun. Far as strictly base game only thing you missed is the Railway Rifle. It's not the easiest to get starting off as you need to battle though a bunch of super mutants, but with some of the other guns on this list it should be doable. You can get one at any level out of Big John's Salvage. You need to clear a path though the mutants, turn off a generator that's powering a door lock then find a turned out blue rail car in the salvage yard. There will be a hatch in the rail car that takes you to a bunker, and in the bunker will be the Railway Rifle. It's decently powerful doing 100 points of damage per shot, it can fire pretty quick for being a rifle, and it's an accurate gun with a long range. It won't be legendary, but unless you make yourself an enemy of the Railroad and start killing their soldiers, I don't believe your going to find a Railway Rifle anywhere else in the game. So it's a unique, and good gun to pick up.
Thanks for your comment. For this I basically covered most of the base game content and some of the next gen ones. I did want to touch on some of the DLC ones too but the list of getting a little out of hand and I managed to narrow the list down to 21. I may make another one for all the other ones I wanted to cover. As you said, I also used some of the weapons in this list as means of getting others too.
the piggybank launcher is a weapon mod much like the striker so putting the piggybank (or the striker) mod on the big boy from Arturo will allow you to fire 2 piggybanks (or strikers) old faithful from Arturo is great early game as well
I totally agree and thats why it's on the list. I really should have mentioned putting the Piggy Bank on the Big boy. That's a good shout. You would not need to do anything extra st all. Just take it off from one Fatman and onto the other.

They are solid weapons and when thinking about it there are some really good options even at level one. The Spray and Pray will carry you until at least mid game even on survival difficulty.
@@johnw391 Also easy to get, but you may have noticed there are no DLC weapons on this list. It is the bigger badder brother of the Spray n' Pray though, and more flexible since it can be modified to semi-auto for non-Commando builds. Plus it not only gains bonuses from Rifleman/Commando and Demolition Expert, if you have the INT for Nuclear Physicist you can boost the radiation dmg as well making it even more of a powerhouse weapon. Oh man I was looking for Cricket the other day and went to each of her usual places, but when it came to Vault 81 I was looking INSIDE THE VAULT for her 🤦♂️
It's actually not a bad idea since it stands to reason she is a trader and the Overseer of Vault 81 does allow outsiders if they are willing to trade. But yes Cricket only stops by outside the Vault.
Ah I think I just replied to your comment on another video - sadly you can not remove any quest items so you will have to work around it. Instead of naming your weapon the single letter, you can try naming your book the same name as your special book and that should help make the book appear instead of anything else. I hope this helps.
Can't take Dogmeat into Vault 111 anymore. Literally started a new play through 4 days ago, and the game wouldn't let him come back in the Vault with me.
I did manage to get Dogmeat to go down into the Vault with me but he did not follow me. Instead he actually teleports inside after I spend some time on the surface.
It is a bit hit-and-miss. I have noticed that if you are still using the base-start VT jumpsuit and using the first weapon you picked up, he seems more inclined to follow you in. Dunno why. If he doesn’t appear immediately, try going into sneak mode. It might kick the game AI into moving him up close to you and spawn him in.
2/21i recommend helping Trudy by offering help. I never buy chems, and if you kill Wolfgang the chem dealer Trudy will permanently give better prices. She is easy to go to sell and got good selection of resources .. aka junks.
That's a good point. If you don't see yourself using chems then you may as well get better prices from Trudy. That said you would lose access to Wolfgang - you may not purchase any chems but it is another vendor that you can sell stuff to.
@@TrappedInFallout My thinking is i can buy chem in Diamond City for regular price too (never did), there aren't many vendor you can have better prices with. And she is easy to find 24/7 not traveling. Note Trashcan Carla is another one, just say sarcastic when you meet her.
Honestly, getting that on Survival early on will set you up very nicely for the long run. You can mod the weapon also if you need to to help set playstyle.
@robmarsh6668 The explosive effect is honestly really OP when paired with certain perks. It's even more devastating when you consider that fact that it's an area of effect type I.e. can take out multiple enemies with single hit. And better yet if you can fine it on an automatic weapon.
@robmarsh6668 I am, yes. Robocops sidearm is crazy powerful. And when you say ammo concern, given its 10mm, one of the most common ammo in the game after a couple of hours of playtime that's stops being a problem also. Almost every vendor in the game that sells general goods has 10mm ammo and chance are if you look down, there will be some near your feet somewhere.
@TrappedInFallout I had over 1200 rounds when i found the pistol. Down to 250 now. And I only use it on badass enemies. Trying to get some 10mm manufacturing going. Such a fun game!
Yeah, I do wish sometimes there were more fixed legendary weapons instead of random ones. It does add to the playability but at the same time it feels a little missing given that historically legendary weapons felt like there was lore behind them.
Hey Fallout, that's an excellent question. In short I'm not sure. I am pretty confident I have covered every weapon, most unique armors and items and a lot if glitches for FO3. Never say never, I may do so in the near future but for the moment I am focusing on Fallout 4 as I have lots to say about it. I will go back to FO3 but for the moment and focusing my effort on 4. Sorry if that's not the answer you were looking for, about 50% of the content on my channel js currently on FO3 😃
For the purpose of the video I basically had some stored up but you can get a significant amount of caps by building something like a water farm or by using the caps glitch.
It's a solid weapon for sure. Would have been great had it been included as part of the base game. Still that does not take away from how versatile and powerful the weapon is.
Man I was sleeping on this game for years. I really enjoyed the TV show and right around the time PlayStation Plus was having a sale on the Fallout game so I picked up part 4 and 76. Part 4 is all I'm playing right now.
The Manwell Rifle is stupidly good. The models look nice and you have quite a good amount of customization options. Its a short quest thst nets you two legendary Manwell rifles and a pet you can send to a settlement (or its unique meat). More Manwell rifles can be purchases from weapon vendors and are great weapon to give to your settlers. Nice video, TIFO!
2 shot or Instigating Gauss rifle are both better. Last Minute is also not available early since you need to unlock the Castle then do a quest for Ronnie before having her as a vendor. Everything on this list is easy to get under lvl 10.
I don't know if it's my character or if there was a nerf or something but I feel like the Tesla Canon is complete trash. My reason for this is it takes at least as many shots to take out a Gunner as my Kneecaper Laser Rifle and it doesn't have the added benefit of completely crippling your opponents while weighing quite a bit. I know it requires a blessing from the RNG Gods to get Kneecaper on a ranged weapon but in my opinion that is the superior weapon perk if you want to play on very hard and have it feel like it's on easy or normal. After a few moments of introspection I think I'm just really really disappointed in the Tesla Canon because not only does it have an appearance and name that seem powerful TH-camrs constantly call it the "most powerful weapon" and in my experience that is categorically false.
In my personal use I have found it to be very strong. It does a significant amount of damage and gets boosted with the right perks. It never needs to be reloaded and with the Beaton perk it even jumps from enemy to enemy making it very devastating. In my view it needs a little nerf.
@@TrappedInFallout I have it fully modded as far as what you can do at the workbench but what perks are best to use with it? I don't actually know it's weapon type and I am using a Rifleman build which I doubt boosts it but I feel like even if I pick up a pistol or and automatic weapon I'd still do more damage. Today when I get home from work I'll try playing with it some more and try going through any wiki pages I can find on it to see what I'm doing wrong.
O came across the last one in the glowing sea at the onclave building and stole it from an npc that rocked me with it almost took me out in one hit still I think the quad penetrating tracking missal launcher is the most powerful weapon still
The Chinese grenade launcher rifle outperforms the missile launcher in every aspect. The missile launcher isn't bad but the Chinese grenade launcher rifle is just beyond broken. Cheaper ammo, bigger mag, better base damege, higher rate of fire, blast shield, Lighter ammo, lighter weapon and it ignores 30% of armor (60% with rifleman 5). The only thing the missile launcher can do that the Chinese grenade launcher rifle cant is the targeting computer which doesn't come close to making up for all the other downsides. It's no contest. If you want to use the missile launcher then you have to ignore that the Chinese grenade launcher rifle exists.
I'd caution getting Spray and Pray early it really makes the game too easy even on hard I still use it at lvl 95 cuts through everything like butter same with the kiloton and problem solver but you have to aim with those lol
I totally agree, it's a solid weapon. I still get it but keep it in my backpocket. There are times when it either using the Spray and Pray or losing about 2 hours of gametime because I could not find a bed to sleep in ha ha.
As a newer player the spray and pray is absolutely the best weapon alongside the wastelanders friend. . Now this is for people who aren’t using any mods or dlc’s. Trust me. Fallout can seem so complicated at times with choosing weapons. After melting enemies with the spray and pray you’ll thank me
Yeah, I could have mentioned it. In my guides I tend to stick to the video topic as best as possible and try not to digress which helps to keep thr videos as short as possible but it's still a valid observation.
It's actually a great question. No idea. I have seen it in fair places that don't make sense for them to be there. I would have thought they may have been therefore pre-war but then they also seem too clean. Including ones found in beds with skeletons.
@@TrappedInFallout I played a long time ago and started the game back up and that is when I found my old account that I was just messing around in had Overseers Guardian. Love that rifle and after I got enough ammo, I went after it early on in my new start
I got lucky and found the wastelander pretty early. 50% limb damage. Running around the Commonwealth just creating cripples. Your a cripple...and your a cripple.
Actually, some of the weapons can be very effective in certain specific circumstances; for example, the Crippling Wrench BIG JIM could allow you to cheese certain fights against powerful melee enemies. In Concord, I've actually used Big Jim to attack, and cripple, the Deathclaw that pops out from the sewers; yes, I waited until it was distracted by a Raider, at which point I ran in close, took one or two swipes with Jim, then ran back to safety. When you see a feared Deathclaw belly-down, completely unable to attack you, you appreciate Big Jim.
It can still be done but it's rather tricky. Dogmeat does not enter via the lift but if you enter the vault and then walk around he can randomly appear next to you. This is how I managed to get it to work.
Stopped watching after first two. Just because it’s unique doesn’t mean it’s good. Old Faithful (as a sniper setup), Overseer’s Guardian, Spray and Pray, and Pickman’s Blade are the game breakers IMO. All available early, all will absolutely shred early to midgame enemies. (Edited, confused old faithful and old reliable, which is good but takes a while to get because it’s in Far Harbor, even if early in the DLC).
Overseer's Guardian is FAR more powerful as an automatic, than it is as a sniper. Extra damage does more extra damage, when you fire more times. Anything that gives a flat amount of bonus damage, you want to do it more often, in any RPG.
@@TrappedInFallout There is also the accuracy issue of that weapon. I think there is some hidden math on the automatic weapons in VATS. They say they are less accurate in the display, but they seem to never miss, so long as you are in range. It's like you are getting three chances to hit, with the three round burst.
I agree, it's phrases I've been saying all my life and I am working on it and trying to limit/remove them from my everyday vocab. Suffice to say its been very hard but I am trying. Thanks for you feedback, much appreciated.

@@HonourGuardDK cry some more
Pickman’s Blade can be another useful one - especially when doing a Blitz + Railroad playthrough.
I am kicking myself as I literally forgot about that one a a couple of others that would have been perfect to add for this guide. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
The Spray and Pray is truly OP. If you get it early enough chances are that you will be using it until endgame.
I once got a legendary hunting rifle with the double shot perk. Modding that to a .50 cal was a dream!
Hunting rifle with double shoot is amazing. With the right perks it just becomes soo OP.
Nice video
Another one that’s for me above "Spray n’ Pray" is the "The Problem Solver"
It's a great weapon for sure but it would be boring to say 'get the weapon and your sorted'. And that's why I tried to show a variety of weapons to hopefully suit different playstyles.
@@TrappedInFallout I understand.
I figured after that maybe this weapon, due to it's long way of getting it wasn't really suited for a video like this.
Very well put video, I recon the effort put !
Nice channel I discovered ;)
I think we all know this but the nice thing about the piggy mines is the free caps they drop once you use them
I love using them. I do wish that it was effect by the perk that makes you find more caps. Imagine thowing a tiny Piggy and then picking up close yo 1k in caps.
@@TrappedInFallout factual it would be absolutely neat
Now I must test if the Fortune Finder Four Fix mod will auto-pickup the caps from the Piggies…
Bethesda stopped Dogmeat from getting the cryolator. You have to use Cait.
Uts a strange one. I am still able to use Dogmeat but it's not as easy as it used to be for sure.
I'm trying a survival playthrough... I'm gonna need all the help I can get 😂.. nice video brother. Thanks for your uploads...
As you said, I also used some of the weapons in this list as means of getting others too.
the piggybank launcher is a weapon mod much like the striker so putting the piggybank (or the striker) mod on the big boy from Arturo will allow you to fire 2 piggybanks (or strikers)
old faithful from Arturo is great early game as well
I totally agree and thats why it's on the list. I really should have mentioned putting the Piggy Bank on the Big boy. That's a good shout. You would not need to do anything extra st all. Just take it off from one Fatman and onto the other.
Best FO content and fun fact channel on YT for sure 👍🏻
Wow thank you. I am trying my best to make content that feels useful and also trying to keep my content both informative and enjoyable. And I may also make content around facts too for Fallout ha ha.
09/21 On the call to arms mission with Dance, on the last bit of the mission before you finish it by pressing the big red button and ignite the rocket
(DONT PRESS YET)
I normally go afk for a hour or 3 watching from behind the blast glass, Let Dance go Ham on all the synths and the ones that Respawn too... He will fall a few times but keep getting up and the mobs dont even see or atack you 😁
when you think your pc/console cant handle to the lag.. then hit the red button and melt everything
By far the Easiest way to get 10k caps from all the loot in your first say 3-5 hours of game play
Just collect everything, all the weapons n armour you should get around 25-40 of each.. to cancel the no fast travel or encumbrance.. just drop ALL the goodies and make your companion grab em off the floor..
I have a VATS Crippling .308 & a Vats double barrel shotgun with a Lucky Sneak Build. I have to force myself to try other weapons cuz those two are working petty good for me.
If you happen to use VATs alot then these are great weapons to have on you. I know the feeling of using a weapon that is so effective but trying to use different weapons for difference experiences. Best of luck.
I have most and lost some from stupid button pushes I lost the defender, the spray and prey but replaced it by others
They are solid weapons and when thinking about it there are some really good options even at level one. The Spray and Pray will carry you until at least mid game even on survival difficulty.
@@TrappedInFallout I like the rifle you get from the children of atom if far harbor
Definitely a game changer.
Bladed tire iron is a sick ass melee weapon. No clue where i got it but its sick.
It's a solid weapon, I got one once in the dogs inventory right on the end of the bridge as you leave Sanctuary.
How to store my keys so I can do the u are special perk. It won't let me do it because the keys are in my inventory.
I'm a new Fallout player in 2024 and I just did this and Dogmeat grabbed it for me 🤷
It is a bit hit-and-miss.
Nice one, as always!
Thank you so much for saying that, I really appreciate it.
I ran into Cricket by lucky chance and got the Spray and Pray. Don't need anything else LOL.
Honestly, getting that on Survival early on will set you up very nicely for the long run. You can mod the weapon also if you need to to help set playstyle.
I found a plain jane 10mm w explosive effect. It kills everything in 2 or 3 bursts.
@robmarsh6668 The explosive effect is honestly really OP when paired with certain perks. It's even more devastating when you consider that fact that it's an area of effect type I.e. can take out multiple enemies with single hit. And better yet if you can fine it on an automatic weapon.
@TrappedInFallout it's burst fire like Robocop (i'm sure you're aware). As you say, i don't even have to be that accurate. The only concern is ammo.
@robmarsh6668 It's super easy to eat through any ammo when you find a weapon that solves most of your problems.
Too bad the makeshift weapons and Enclaves weapon legendary drop from an enemy are so hard to get, i only get one heavy incinerator ghoulslayer only
Yeah, I do wish sometimes there were more fixed legendary weapons instead of random ones. It does add to the playability but at the same time it feels a little missing given that historically legendary weapons felt like there was lore behind them.
The BIG BOY modded with mirv launcher is overkill.
It totally sounds like it will be. I have not tried it but now you have me thinking, I probably will try it now.
Hey moe, do you think you are going to do anymore fallout 3 or did you finish that series?
Hey Fallout, that's an excellent question. In short I'm not sure. I am pretty confident I have covered every weapon, most unique armors and items and a lot if glitches for FO3.
Never say never, I may do so in the near future but for the moment I am focusing on Fallout 4 as I have lots to say about it.
I will go back to FO3 but for the moment and focusing my effort on 4.
Sorry if that's not the answer you were looking for, about 50% of the content on my channel js currently on FO3 😃
Where are you getting all those caps in the early game?
For the purpose of the video I basically had some stored up but you can get a significant amount of caps by building something like a water farm or by using the caps glitch.
The Manwell rifle, first thing i get and the only thing you need
It's a solid weapon for sure. Would have been great had it been included as part of the base game. Still that does not take away from how versatile and powerful the weapon is.
Man I was sleeping on this game for years. I really enjoyed the TV show and right around the time PlayStation Plus was having a sale on the Fallout game so I picked up part 4 and 76. Part 4 is all I'm playing right now.
I know the feeling. Sometimes it feels like it's the only game I play which for the most part is true.
Its weird that you include some CC content and yet skipped the Manwell Rifles
The Manwell Rifles, I probably could have included them but will need to double check.
Not everyone has it, since you have to buy it extra
I'd say not "weird" since the CC content mentioned is free and included with the patch so you don't even have to download it.
Last minute? Best I believe 👍
Ha ha I hope it helps.
O came across the last one in the glowing sea at the onclave building and stole it from an npc that rocked me with it almost took me out in one hit still I think the quad penetrating tracking missal launcher is the most powerful weapon still
It's a solid weapon for sure and a real contender to be one of the strongest in the game.
You get you a knife make it seraded with a perk, and you can two shot most things under 15 and one shot everything at level 10 to 0
Yeap, melee can be really OP in Fallout 4 if done right.
I loved the video, thank you
Thank you for checking out my video and for your comment.
After melting enemies with the spray and pray you’ll thank me
It is a solid weapon and can easily still be in your inventory by the time you get into your endgame.
@@TrappedInFallout really good to know because as of now it’s been a super mutant killer for me. This is the first fallout I’ve ever played

Let us not talk about the fact that you just picked up some flame prove legs for your raider power armour......
Yeah, I could have mentioned it. In my guides I tend to stick to the video topic as best as possible and try not to digress which helps to keep thr videos as short as possible but it's still a valid observation.
Whats with all the mannequins in this game? Like they are literally in every area, it makes no sense.
It's actually a great question. No idea. I have seen it in fair places that don't make sense for them to be there. I would have thought they may have been therefore pre-war but then they also seem too clean. Including ones found in beds with skeletons.
I got that a different way on the same quest
Nice, as long as you managed to get your hands on what you wanted then that's all good 😃
So your title is "weapons that change everything" while then showing weird weapons that are barely used because there is something better.
These are a solid set of early weapons that can change the course of the game for most players.....well I think so anyway.
You have to remember, most of these videos are not for seasoned veterans of the game.
I found 3 of those nuke launchers and I have 6 mini nukes I'm level 9 I also have three missile launchers.
Nice one. It's rather easy to stock up on a number of the weapons shown in this video at a relatively low level.
@@TrappedInFallout dude these videos have helped so much because of these videos
The dog meat cryo has been patched he want enter the fault
It can still be done but it's rather tricky. Dogmeat does not enter via the lift but if you enter the vault and then walk around he can randomly appear next to you. This is how I managed to get it to work.

These vids are nice, but clickbait-ish, in that, they fail to say that some weapons are ONLY attainable by doing a quest or questline...
Is it? The title suggests weapons that can help you have an edge which I think holds true. And I do try to make my titles as accurate as possible.
It's OK not to watch the entire video, many thanks for checking it out and for your comment.
Overseer's Guardian is FAR more powerful as an automatic, than it is as a sniper. Extra damage does more extra damage, when you fire more times. Anything that gives a flat amount of bonus damage, you want to do it more often, in any RPG.
I think so too. I personally love the manual approach but I can see how damaging an automatic Guardian can be.
@@TrappedInFallout There is also the accuracy issue of that weapon. I think there is some hidden math on the automatic weapons in VATS. They say they are less accurate in the display, but they seem to never miss, so long as you are in range. It's like you are getting three chances to hit, with the three round burst.
Videos are we being made with recycled content 😢
Sorry that you feel that way. It's my own take on the list so I do hope you found it useful.
very creamy
