I know this is an older video, but any suggestions would be great. I have more discomfort than pain in my shoulders around to my shoulder blades, and at the base of the back of my neck. It all seems connected. Could this be from just playing too hard and being tense? It’s hard to find suggestions on this as most people feel pain in back and not what I’m describing. Thanks!

I've been playing for 31 years. I have numbing pain in my feet and legs. Im taking meds to help with it. I'll never stop, though. Even though I also play guitar. Druming is my life!

What if I’m 15 and my parents don’t take me concerns seriously

I've got some shoulder impingement or something. When I raise my arm it triggers the pain. Externally/internally rotating the arm also triggers the pain. I feel it the most after playing drums. Any suggestions/tips are highly appreciated!

Sometimes when playing, the muscles in my upper arm will start to tire quickly. I’d love some advice as to how I can tackle this as often it’ll stop me from playing half way when practicing or afterwards it’ll tire my arms out too early into the set also when practising

Great question. Do you have joint issues or conditions that could contribute to this before I add any suggestions

Brandon Green ive had no joint issues in the arm as far as I’m aware that is usually the main one that aches (my right arm that normally hits the high hat). My left arm doesn’t ache as much when there isn’t much to do other than to hit the snare in a lot of the songs I play with my band so it doesn’t exhaust as easily. One reason as to why it’s the right that’s the major problem is because when I stretch it out to hit the ride, it feel a nice stretch and relief and it’s like the aching feeling goes away in seconds. I don’t usually have the same lovely feeling if I stretched out my left arm (the reason likely being what I explained above). It could also been that my arms are just not strong enough yet to withstand and that they just need training to withstand it. Perhaps it’s to do with trying to keep up with songs like Brianstorm that need to be played fast and maybe I should try my playing more with slower songs and then gradually go through faster songs to build my strength?
Although if I’m playing something where I’m hitting the hithat with both sticks for a large portion of the song (examples being Brianstorm by AM and Ceremony by New Order) they both tend to tire out quickly but more so the right arm. It’s frustrating because otherwise I know how to play these songs.
I do have epilepsy however I haven’t had a seizure for over a year now so i have that under control. But I don’t think that contributes at all as far as I’m aware. I think one time when I had one a few years ago I strained a muscle but it was in the left arm that has never been a problem. I do often have a pulsing feeling in the upper left arm but it’s never been a concern unless it is low key doing something I’m unaware of
Sorry for the essay. Hopefully I’ve been able to explain clearly.

Brandon Green also forgot to mention that I have flexible joints. I don’t think it would present itself as an issue however I’ll let you be the judge of that.

I’m not a medically minded person so I don’t know if I’m understanding what I’ve read right, but I’m starting to experience what I believe to be tendinitis in my right wrist. I’ve done some reading and have spoken with drummers who have had it and that seems to be the case. After doing some introspective analysis of my technique I think that is the issue at hand seeing I play primarily use a French grip. I ramble all of that to ask you this, other than modifying my grip technique what can I do to help reduce the pain and sensitivity in my wrist?
