I’m loving the free form gradient. I’m working on a series of jewellery items with gemstones for work and this has allowed me to custom the background for each stone. Great video as ever Dansky!
Is there a way to precisely scale the total gradient in illustrator just like in photoshop? For example in Photoshop you can scale a gradient easy to percent on the horizontal slider within the layer style. I'm trying to remake one of my old logos (sun rays) but find to hard to reproduce it.
I have a question. I made a stroke and it wouldn't allow me to apply a freeform gradient to it. So i went to path>outline stroke and it still wouldn't color. How do I make illustrator recognize the stroke as a shape?
Nice. You didn't cover all the possibilities of a Gradient Tool. You didn't show the line option in Freform Gradient. Also, the main problem with Gradient in Illustrator is that it can not be saved in Swatches panel with all settings and that what is saved is not Global. Illustrator is a good platform, but it needs complete restoration.
@@scotturquhart4380 Think you are right… I used to use Affinity Designer and the gradients were fantastic. Unfortunately we are stuck with Adobe at work.

Thank you
The freeform gradient can mimic contour and lighting.
you are the boss..❤brother
Can we get tutorials on alternatives products to adobe?
I have a question. I made a stroke and it wouldn't allow me to apply a freeform gradient to it. So i went to path>outline stroke and it still wouldn't color. How do I make illustrator recognize the stroke as a shape?
You can go to object then expand which will convert strokes as fill colour or shape
trying to move the gradiant toolbar and it just snaps back to orginal position

Can one object have 2 gradients?
Yes, if you add the gradients from the Appearance panel, you can stack up a lot of different effects! 🙌
good
❤️🙏
Anyone got any tips on how to do gradients in Illustrator without banding everywhere…
use software that actually works like it's supposed to, then import it to illustrator

Have you noticed how deeply unpopular Adobe is right now?
I switched to inkscape
I can still follow most tutorials
So what? Stop being a sheep haha Adobe still has some of the best tools on the market, Danksy delivers great content so leave the hate else where.
