    This tutorial will demonstrate how to use 12 tools and techniques to create a professional logo design in Adobe Illustrator. The logo design we will be creating in the Creative Cloud logo, but these tools can also be used to create virtually any type of logo design. These are my most-used tools in Adobe Illustrator, and once you understand how they can be used both individually, and combined together, the logo designs that you are able to create will become virtually limitless.

    Instead of eyeballing it, you can just use your regular arrow, grab the end anchor point which will move the whole line and then holding CTRL, move it on top of the end point of the other object. This will snap it perfectly to that shape. So anchor point on top of anchor point. Then grab your direct selection tool, select both anchor points and join. This will result in cleaner lines and fewer points and less mess.

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah thanks! I’ll give that a try! 🙂👊

    • @angelbear_og
      @angelbear_og ปีที่แล้ว

      FWIW I ran into the "To join, you must select two end points of the same or two different paths" error trying to join. Turns out when I deleted the segment there was still a piece left behind that was perfectly hidden. So when I selected the end points to join, a party crasher got selected also! Moved my shapes out of the way (shift+up arrow so it could be reversed), deleted the leftover object, moved the other two back and it worked! :)

      Also If you rotate the circle 45° first you’ll have anchor point in the right place for a proper tangent line off it at 45°. Or just Holding the apple/ command key as you click/drag/move the line will force it to snap to the line.

    Hey Danksy! As always great tutorials, question when using compound paths in complex logos, and then release is there a way to keep the shapes when releasing different colors? Not sure if there is a better way but when I try to edit a logo after releasing it gets very confusing.

    This is great thanks. You go quickly so I’m grateful for the speed option in TH-cam 😊. One question… why are your starting with rgb and 72 dpi instead of a print ready file? Perhaps you answer this… I wanted to ask now at the beginning before I forgot. Cheers

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Jai, thanks for the feedback regarding my speed, this is really helpful 😊 The main reason for RGB and 72 ppi is because most of my work these days in displayed on-screen rather than in print (so really just habit). If you were designing for print, yes CMYK and 300 ppi would be the way to go 👍

    Hey Dansky! I love the fact that you are always guiding the user (I presume a beginner) to the top nav-bar, however, I think it would be wise to teach them shortcuts as they are imperative in the professional world :)

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Awesome thanks! Aha yea, the main reason I show the menu locations on first-use most of the time, is because this way the viewer can learn where a given feature is actually located, and it usually has the keyboard shortcuts listed alongside anyway 👍

    • @NareshUgaonkar
      @NareshUgaonkar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      New users really need to focus on keyboard shortcuts. thanks to my teachers who made sure in the first few sessions to explain the Importance of shortcuts. and also made us remember them.

    Awesome video Dansky! There's one thing left, however, how to deal with the numerous amount of excess anchor points created by the shape builder tool? Not the stray ones, those on the main shape, mainly caused on curves.

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks Arian! You can try going to Object -> Path -> Simplify and drag the slider all the way to the right. Depending on the logo design this can sometimes help 👍

    Nice tutorial for Beginners but I don't know what it's called in english Illustrator, but in German it's called "Allign to Point" / "Am Punkt ausrichten". If you activate this, you can use the selection tool (V) to set the paths to the exact point. Sorry, that drove me crazy how you aligned the two paths ;)
