I'm doing a February Fast and feeling great about it, I'm dining IN to break through my barriers to move forward with proper carnivore in March. I've been meat based, carnivore adjacent for some years. Want to make real progress.
I'm committed to the carnivore lifestyle, and I believe in it. Thank you, Laura, because you were the first to pique my interest in Carnivore. No questions, but I wanted to post an important fact. I began my journey on the 1st, and on the 7th, I caught a cold(not keto flu). No big deal, but as was my habit, I began using cough drops, dayquil, and nyquil for relief. I didn't realize all of those products are made with some sort of sweetener. It took me 2 weeks before I caught on to why my progress wasn't going very well. This has probably been covered in someone's carnivore videos, maybe even yours, but I feel it should be mentioned more often. I'm just saying. Thanks again, and keep doing what you're doing.
I’ve been watching your channel for years now! I’m sorry for all you’ve endured for health (I relate) I just want you to know your beauty and value are obvious in both thumb nail pictures. Thanks for sharing your carnivore confidence with the world!
Don't worry, body composition change is happening. Weight may even go up. I used to watch my weight like a hawk, record it every 2 hours throughout the day, it's pointless. I weigh myself once a month now. You'll notice the actual changes off the scale though. Really to me the scale is almost pointless. Don't be discouraged.
I have been doing Canivore since before Thanksgiving! Have not lost much weight but the mental clarity that I now have will keep me here regardless of weight loss! Thank you for your videos! I watch you all the time!
Just trying Carnivore for the first time. My hands n joints started to feel better. I feel better. Btw, I'm a 73 year old type 2 diabetic on Ozempic. Had DBS surgery last summer & lost a lot of hair. Had a cold/flu this week, so couldn't get to the market & ate whatever soups i had in the freezer. Still, felt good. No hunger; few cravings. Love your channel & information. 😊
Be patient if the scale stalls. Me personally, im almost down 20 lbs now, but it has taken me a lot longer than when I was younger. Im short lol and older, (I turned 50 last summer) started carnivore last October. The scale goes up and down...i try not to let it consume my life. Stay on track and be patient. Tweak your eating timing too it helps! You don't have to be perfect. Always remember, you didn't gain weight overnight and slow and steady is key.
I am the same Danielle but what confuses me is that when I have dieted before I lost .5 kgs /week. But I haven't lost weight for months. I would like to loose 10kgs but I have been this weight for over 10years so it just does not want to budge, even though I have taken out all carbs
I buy lots of different meats and make up daily meal bags, for example belly pork, meatballs, chicken wings and a piece of steak. I also make my own burgers and freeze them on trays and bags them up separately, so that I can add that into the mix.
I have found my cravings are more about habit…and the happiness those habits gave me…ie: a cocktail or two at 5pm right before I made dinner….i had serious cravings then…I now have flavored water and am building new happy habits🤗
@kathrynpresley I'm 11 days in and I'm having crazy plantar fasciitis pain in the mornings. I haven't had PF pain in like 15 years. Also, I heard about oxalate dumping which may have caused an awful hip pain on days 3 and 4. Thankfully that's gone but the PF pain SUCKS
PF can also be associated with oxalate dumping. Sally Norton suggests keeping some oxalates like black tea or hot cocoa (with no sugar) to slow down the oxalate dumping effects. Also she suggests adding lemon juice and/or calcium citrate to deal with dumping effects. Highly suggest that you read her book or at least visit her website. Many carnivores that come from years of consuming high oxalate foods can experience severe symptoms when dropping the oxalates too suddenly
D3 is also a huge help. No flip flops 🩴 Shoes either a great support like Birkenstock or vionic. No sugar and no carb will help with inflammation Exercise Sometime a boot to sleep in will help if you can stand it. They are available on Amazon.
As a Canadian I have never had to pay extra for any test or specialist visit that my doctor has recommended. (The hard part is convincing my doctor that there might be a problem that needs further investigation.)
Hi Laura I’ve been following your journey for the longest time how amazing it is might I add ! I finally took the plunge & im on day 7 . Felt very sick really for most of that but yesterday was my best day & I actually enjoyed my meals which is fab . My husband is joining me & he is 9llbs down & his bloods are the best they have been in years ( diabetes 2) . On ward & upwards. The only problem I have is not sleeping very well but I hope this will pass. Any tips?
I also struggled with sleep. Carnivore helped tremendously as well as I began reading a chapter in a fiction book every night. Now I go to sleep immediately & sleep all night long! (I've been on Carnivore over a yr.) I learned that turning off our phones & reading a fiction book can lower or stress up to 60%!! It worked for me, along with this way of eating. I found I'm loving reading historical fiction books w/o too much suspence. The suspence books had me on edge & I didn't sleep as well.
I have two auto immune disorders and a genetic disorder that will leave me low on vitamin D so yeah I definitely know but I’m just starting carnivore yay!
The first two weeks in general is water weight/water loss. Most low carb creators and doctors will say this. That’s why people usually lose tons at first. It’s after the water is lost that people start actually losing weight.
It's important to note CIRS and MCAS have some similarities in symptoms, Though they are different. Worth while to look into both depending on your situation.
I like to take bacon and deli meat. Or cold rotisserie chicken. Extra salt. I also like cold or hot McDonald's burger patties.Or something really yummy cold is oven fried chicken. No breading, just crispy skin. When it gets cold, the skin gets chewy but still very yummy. Also, smoked sausage or kielbasa sliced, pan fried - later I enjoy it cold.
I saw your video when you said you were going to cut back on cheese to lose weight, don't know if you are still doing that but I can tell by your face that you are doing something differently. Looking good!!!
I tried to do carnivore month and struggling! I’ve been low carb for months and thought for sure I was ready for carnivore! I just keep trying. I know no path is ever perfect!
If you've been on carnivore for a few months feeling great, and then all of a sudden you aren't feeling well, you could be dumping oxalates. Sally Norton is an oxalate guru. Here's a link to a video with Dr Anthony Chaffee. th-cam.com/video/Bl5OngSFaHw/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUMU2FsbHkgTm9ydG9u
I was on Keto for 3 years and now I’m on my 7th week of Carnivore. Lots of metabolic healing but haven’t lost weight. I only need to get off the last 3-4 lbs. I do OMAD but if I eat more, I gain weight. Any suggestions? I’m 70 years old which is a factor.
Thank you so much for your inspiring words. I wish that I could buy LMNT from the Nederlands and without having to use a creditcard. I don't have one en don't want to have it. Do you know someone who is able to buy their LMNT from Europe? I would love to hear it. Kind regards from here and lot's of love for everybody of the carnivore comunity❤
A lot of people with fibromyalgia also have plantar fasciitis. I have both. You should be sure that you are getting good quality electrolytes. Magnesium glycinate, Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 have helped me a lot. With plantar fasciitis it's important that you do stretches and have good quality recovery shoes or your feet can get much worse! Physical therapy and good quality shoes like Oofos really helped me and my son with plantars fasciitis.
for adding protein to your diet, did you just increase the source from more food or could you use a methylated product like a high-quality amino acids?
Struggle to eat enough.. no appetite and years of dieting has made me used eating small portions… I’m like stuffed after 2 eggs and 2 slices bacon or 1/2 pound burger.. do u recommend protein shakes to supplement??
Protein shakes are full of sugars and nasty chemical ingredients. If it is possible with your daily routine, try eating breakfast late morning, then a normal dinner. I've been carnivore for almost 2 years and find this works best. 4-6 scrambled eggs with bacon then 16 Oz of a protein for dinner.
I had plantar faciatus a few decades ago. The podiatrist told me to get rid of All my cute flat shoes😮😭 & get quality shoes with a slightly elevated heel. He also had me use shoe inserts(PowerStep 3/4) on shoes that were slightly worn(& that i Loved). There are also foot stretches & exercises to do in front of tv. Losing weight will be the BEST thing you can do.❤
D3 is also a huge help. No flip flops 🩴 Shoes either a great support like Birkenstock or vionic. No sugar and no carb will help with inflammation Exercise Sometime a boot to sleep in will help if you can stand it. They are available on Amazon.
I bought Birkenstock inserts for my shoes that I wore for about three years which totally healed my PF. Then I got into barefoot, foot shaped shoes and walked around barefoot as much as possible. No foot pain anymore.
Love carnivore but not getting the weight loss I thought I would ...stuck for months not gaining but not loosing. I have eaten more, eaten less , stopped dairy, nothing changed. Compared to my diet before I should be loosing as I have not eaten any carbs feel like my metabolism is slow but I eat when hungry till full, exercise eat right calories but can under eat at times. it's frustrating Last 10kgs just won't budge.

I've actually wondered what some healthy alternative supplements/cough syrup, etc would be for carnivores when we're sick.
@looking.on.the.brightside I agree not sure what I should use for colds and coughs.
You look so good! Your skin and hair are beautiful. Thanks for all your information for carnivor.

Thanks for the hair info. Down 65 lbs. Started last April.
Lower back pain and knee pain reduced dramatically. No more carb and sugar cravings. But scale not moving
How long have you been on it?
Non scale victories are just as important (or more so) than number on a scale. More energy (building muscle), looser clothes (becoming leaner).
Weight isn’t linear , use more then just a scale as a measurement of progress
Don't worry, body composition change is happening. Weight may even go up. I used to watch my weight like a hawk, record it every 2 hours throughout the day, it's pointless. I began this month, January 10th. Almost 3 weeks, lost close to 5 lbs. Ordered LMNT with your code, I love it. Doing great, thank you!
9 months in. Reduced exogenous insulin by 60%+. Plan to try and remove it completely.
You are awesome❤
Thank you for sharing your life!

Do we need to take iodine supplements since I use sea salt only now?
