    Really like some of your ideas! The Glaring piece that is missing is having a flashlight. Great video!

    My no.1 stocking filler would be a space blanket. I’ve not seen anyone mention this item. Besides sleeping, can be used to collect water and act as a massive light reflector, or even shield you from the sun, could be cut into strips, and probably many other uses I haven’t thought of. These things condense to about 2.5” square x 1/2” thick.

    • @seawolf5908

      I didn’t think about cutting it into strips. Great input!

    Great video, I think it's a pretty good kit. If I may suggest, you probably do want to add benadryl or something like that in case of an allergic attack. Been happy I carry it many times, normally for some one else. And a sock for water filtration.

    Good stuff! I'm on the same page: organize. Like the fact that your kit includes things that just make you feel good in a dicey situation. Cheers from Montreal QC Canada

    I keep my Beefy in my pack for my survival or get home kit. My mini stays in my pocket with my edc gear in it. Aquatabs are more compact and they protect against viruses where Potable Aqua does not. You should never stitch a wound on the field unles it is an absolute matter of life and death because of the risk of infection and potential gangrene. Use othe methods of holding a wound together such as gorila tape and allow for drainage and wait until you can get to a proper emergency facility to get stitches.

    Nice little case! It's large enough to hold useful gear but small enough to always keep on you. One thing you should add that doesn't take a lot of space is an ORS of some sort. The WHS forumula Oral Rehydration Solution is a package of about an ounce that mixes with 1 liter of water. In conjuction with the immodium it can save your life if you .

    • @seawolf5908
      @seawolf5908  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man that is such a good idea! I have been dehydrated recently and pedialite made a huge difference. I agree that hydration salts are a good add! Thank you for the comment and channel support:)

    • @robbabcock_
      @robbabcock_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pedialite sells little sleeves of powder. You can get Ceralyte (one of the best out there) in small little sleeves, too, they look like the Crystal Lite packets you see in stores. Trioral is also good and comes in sturdy pouches about 2"x3". You get dehydrated from diarrhea so a combination of immodium and ORS can really save your bacon. Next best thing to IV solutions. @@seawolf5908

    Add a small metal container to the kit for boiling water.(metal cup on the outside?) HD foil will work once but it is too fragile more than that.

    rubber like the surgical tubing is best stored with some talcum powder.
    it will last way longer that way. also good to keep sunlight away from it.

    When in the woods and the stinky stuff hits the fan you need one item only, an EPLB

    I totally disagree with your statement regarding sewing someone up with copper wire or other thread. I consulted with both Military Field Doctors and local GP and Emergency Room Doctors. All said attempting to sew any one outside a sterile setting would likely result in fatal infection. Wipe the wound down with Betadine and then apply clean duct tape. Copper wire to make a compass???? I have to check this out.

    *Various-Sized Safety Pins - Use as a fish hook (Add small strips of space blanket or other shiny object to lure fish)
    *Sewing Elastic - Use as a tourniquet or general-use cord
    *Knee-high hose or sections of panty hose - Use to filter water, strain food, coffee, tea, spices; Use as a bag to hold and hang up items (great for "soap-on-a-rope); Pot and utensil scrubber; Top band of hose = ponytail holder; Bundle items together; Use as a wash cloth; Wear under/over socks to keep feet warm; Use as padding around genitals to warm them and protect them from rough jeans; Wear over shoes to prevent slipping on ice; Fill with dirt/material/whatever to block cold drafts; Use to bait crabs: stuff with bait, run fishing line through bag, then secure line to tree, bush or whatever; crab claws will get tangled up in the hose mesh
    *Magnifying Glass - Fire starter; Improve eyesight for reading or removing splinters
    *Vaseline - Fire starter when rubbed on cotton ball or other tinder; Protect/seal small wounds; Skin moisturizer; Lubricate tools
    *Salt and Pepper - To save space can be placed into corner of ziplok bag then cut corner and tape shut
    *Single-Edged Razor Blade
    *Surgical Lancet
    *Aspirin (Salicylic Acid) 81mg chewable and/or 325mg - Prevent heart attacks, Reduce inflammation, Reduce Fever/Headache, Mix with water and apply to insect bites/stings, Drop two aspirins into a dead car battery to get one last charge, Place on a tooth cavity then bite down for almost instant but temporary relief from a throbbing toothache (Dentists say don't do this)

    You could add a bit of toilet paper. 10 sheets rolled up takes up zero space and weighs nothing. Butt, you're going to love that you had it.

    Quick question. Do you think this pouch will stretch enough to hold a 5" long Ultrafire XML T6 zoomable flashlight? At the top of the light, it flares out to 1.5" wide & this pouch says it's only 1" deep. It looks like these pouches expand a good amount. Thxs!!

    • @seawolf5908
      @seawolf5908  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Nick. As far stretching to hold 1.5” diameter yes I do. The 5” though you may have to put the flash light in there diagonally.

    Definitely a great great little bag. Awesome brand. With your little survival supplies, ummm, ...you're off to a decent start, buuuuut...I'd seriously suggest doin some good research on this subject and severely upgrading your gear in there!! If this little pack is your last stand kinda pack, this is the pack you're gonna wanna spend some major research and money on. Your life literally depends on it!
    About 3/4 of that pack is gonna fail you! Buy a good knife. $50-70 range, combat style and brand, Kershaw, SOG, Gerber, Benchmade etc. Definitely add a C.A.T. tourniquet! That band won't do anything for that. Keep the band, but for other uses. Get rid of those sanitizer packets. Sanitizer will only allow more germs to enter your body and can cause you to get an infection. Replace with alcohol wipes. That burning means it's killing germs Lol Add a packet of medical packing gauze and a wrap or pressure pack. Watch some videos by SkinnyMedic on medical stuff. Add a mini flashlight from like Streamlight, Thrunite, Olight...affordable and tough. Getta better pen for sure. I suggest two large Ziploc baggies folded up as tightly as you can for a water bag. Put one inside the other for double protection. Add a small tube of chapstick, Tylenol or Advil and also a military pill pack are very needed. Look into better emergency ration packets. Brain fartin them at the moment, but there's a million times better than those little chicken noodle packets! They're still add-to-water concepts, but they actually have essentials the body needs in those emergency situations. Keep the caffeine packets though. Those are good. Get rid of that little pillar tool thingy and find yourself a mini multi-tool/leatherman type tool. Even a $10 one! Hit up Wal-Mart and look at their off brands. The one I have is a Winchester brand. Came with a full-size one and it's about 2in long, 1-1.3in wide, but has been a God send ina few outdoor outings.
    I'll have to watch the video again cause I know there's things I'm forgettin... Lol

      Seawolf Outdoors Definitely no problem man. Glad you didnt take it as im some keyboard warrior dick Lol
      Gotta couple ideas off of your setup too; such as the lighter AND fire starter (I've only gotta fire starter, but I'ma smoker too. Still good idea to carry a lighter in the pack), Emergen-C packs, dental floss, your water purifier (I carry iodine) and couple other things.
      Glad to hear you've since updated it. Look forward to seeing it later. I'll definitely take a look at your other video...

    Nice work. One thing I got in my kit is a couple table spoons instant rice and dried minced onion flakes. Add that to your soup stock with water and you have more calories and closer to a real meal! I carry an Emisar D4V2 as a main flashlight but I also have one of these hooked into my Maxpedtion mini www.amazon.com/Uniclife-Keychain-Flashlight-Ultra-Bright/dp/B07KS7MHRD/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=Keychain+Flashlight+LED&qid=1606104396&sr=8-7 These come with two CR2016 coin cells and make 12 lumens but they can also run on one CR2032 but with lower lumen and increased run time. I use mine with CR2032 and its about 3 lumen for about 30 hours and then its down to 1/2 lumen approx. Super good for taking hardly no space and looking at things in the bag at night as there is an on/off switch and also a momentary on. Carrying an extra battery takes no space but you need a little screw driver to change battery.
