Music making has always been so stressful and theres so many roadblocks, but when I see one of your videos it makes me feel like I can do anything. I really appreciate your stuff.
I started experimenting with melodic/moving/walking bass-lines a while back. Now it’s everything I do in my music. I tried applying static bass-lines from time to time but it just didn’t sound as good. It sounded way to dull and robotic. I encourage everyone to experiment with melodic basslines. It really is a gamechanger that will take your music to new levels
You’re an excellent teacher! So clear and at the same fast enough to keep me interested as an experienced producer. I’m watching your stuff to go back to the basis and every time I think oh yeah I totally forgot about this. Thanks!
I don't even like electronic, house, or techno, but, there are definitely production techniques I love from these electronic genres, which i can implement into my metal mixes, seeing as Mick Gordon and his unique sound scape has inspired me
i am really impressed about your coolness, when it comes to use maths "in the middle of a (the) creative process" - very funny! *clap* - and the rest is also very useful, even for non ableton users - because it's depending on principles and concepts not on DAWs (it helps for cubase at least)
there is a max for life called 'Delay Time Calculator' That does all this calculations for you and sync with the tempo of your track. Highly recommended! Good videos been wqatching some of your tutorials. New suscriber :)

Great content! Loved the video on subtle modulations as well - it's actually often the small things that can make a huge difference and just showing midi placement like in this video to help guide making melodies and rhythms is super great tut material 👌 keep it coming, got a solid follower here
In the arrangement review, if you zoom enough to see 16th notes then select a sixteenth note segment, the bottom of the window will display the time in milliseconds for a 16th note at that tempo. So you don't need to use your calculator. 😉
Arpeggiator is fine, but just writing the melody straight away in piano-roll cant be that hard either. That way you can bypass the calculations. And ofc excellent video, as always. Keep inspiring us man \m/
a question (to be able to imply this to other than 120 and 4/4's): Where did the 60.000ms come from in the formula? Thanks for the reply and the tutorials, just getting into them (although I plan to make dnb, but... Some day I'll get back to techno too :D But I don't think it matters, as long as I can adjust what I've learned)
I'm open to the idea, I just teach what I know for now and dont want to overstep my boundaries with genres I have little history with:) which are you hoping for in particular?

Ableton does it for you. Just select an area in the timeline. It will tell you how many ms in the bottom left.
