Thanks for the great content. Love the BFS for Redfish. So effective and fun to fish. BFS has taken the place of spinning rods for me in many situations.
Bro this was such an amazing video to watch! It gives me motivation I have never been able to catch a slot red only 30”+ reds I also usually only bottom fish so my bait stays soaking I don’t move around much. Gotta key my kayak out to those marshes for some slot action 🔥
As I remember, every summer day is a steamy day. I grew up in the West Columbia/Brazoria area in the ,60s ,70s and 80s.My father was a welder mom was a housewife and me , my 4 siblings ,and mom and poppa would go fishing every weekend ,from The Texas city ,San Luis pass ,Surfside, Bryan beach, the mouth of the San Bernard,Sargent,Chinquapin,,Matagorda, Palacios,Port O'connor Rockport Aransas pass and a few others That have been taken back by the Gulf.. It was how we supplemented our food supply as there were 6 people in our family .Sometimes when we didn't catch anything we woukd take the shrimp home and cook them.. I sure miss ma and pa...And those weekends... God Bless you and your LOVED ONES GODSPEED GOOD FISHING
second time i hiked the north jetty to the boat cut this year was that hot man it was brutal. That’s a fun hike😂 and I don’t actually mind hiking it except for days like that and this one in your vid. haha when the water is glass and no wind but it’s 100 fahrehheit before you even think of the “feels like” heat index. haha so i realized maybe i oughta be a bit more strategic about when i go to make that hike, tryna lug a 5 gallon bucket and net and a backpack tackle box along with me down those rocks. haha you know better than most how that humidity just is like a wet hot blanket on your lungs. haha i was like next time ima be hiking the cut only with a bit of a breeze and start my hike back before 10 am instead of at 11:30am when it’s already a hundred degrees on days like that. Fish n Trips inspired me when he did his video on it a couple years back.
Hey Mark, I just bought the Bates Hundo and ordered an Old 18, 7 foot light-medium Buoyancy and was wondering what weight of braid I can get away with without id digging into the spool. I'm fishing for Reds here in the marshes of the Chesapeake Bay. I'm from down there in the Kemah and Seabrook area and have fished many of your favorite spots over the years. I moved up here in 87 to work for National Geographic Magazine and retired here near Gettysburg PA. Any suggestions would be most appreciated..
Great job!!! Nice reds!! Hey Mark you know anyone in the market for a hobie kayak 14 ft.?? With trailer and livewell and foot pedals and electric motor with solar panel. Very nice. Used once. Just thought I'd asking. Thx in advance. Ricky I'm in Hitchcock.
I’m making my first trip to that marsh this week. Have been skeptical because I trailer my ap136 but I need to try already. Thanks for the awesome vids! P.S we should fish sometime together brother.

It takes a little more patience and effort to land them on lighter gear. 🤙
Absolutely incredible video. I love the vibe you got going on. Appreciate you bro.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 🙏

❤Awesome, thanks for the video. I’m working on getting into Bait-casting.
Good luck, it’s a fun technique!
Great video. I love that marsh. If you ever want to fly fish, I’m in the area and have extra rods and skiffs
@@FlyFishingTexas thanks for the offer brother. 👍
Hot day in the marsh, Mark, but boy was the red bite cooking! AWESOME!
You got that right! Made my recovery time worth it.

That checked all the boxes for a great day in the marsh. Your early bite had the warm morning light. Great overall production. I was there man 😂
Thank you! Sometimes we get blessed with something beautiful, this day was just that.

Excelente dia de pesca Mark
Saludos ✌️
Thank you brother 🤙
Fence posts and dock pylons ... have been the demise of several fish for me this season. Glad you got that one!
That hurts 😣 when they do that.

That’s pure torture trying to fish that during this time of year. Only the diehards will do that trip. 🙌
I'M KNEW TO YOUR SHOWS
I wish i knew that spot... maybe payday I'll be able...
LOL TNX 4 VID LOL
Welcome to the channel, thanks for stopping by.
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
Another nice video, i want to try kayaking but dont know how to swim
Gotta wear a good PFD.
@MDLRFishing most definitely I use to go out on sailboats years ago.
I’m about to get me my first kayak and want to start fishing these grass flats. Is this the area on the right side of 45 coming into Galveston?

I’m using 20 lb braid on mine. As long as your drag isn’t cinched down you’ll be fine. I’ve never had my line do that to me.
Thanks Mark. I was kinda leaning towards 20 pound braid.
Can't wait for next month when the bull reds spawn. Have to say that even if you caught nada it's worth it to be on the bay at sunrise.
Sun rises are always the best 🙌
Did you make that little rod I saw you use for push pole and anchor?
It’s a power pole cut in half.
@@MDLRFishingthat a bike handle on the top?
It’s the padding from my grandson’s plastic baseball bat 😂
I’m new to kayaking would love to go there how do I find this place thank you
the muddonkey master haha
😂 I’m just super lucky to experience days like this.

I don’t at the moment. Best to try posting on Facebook marketplace.
msg me back Ricky interested in info on hobie...thx
Ever had owners in Offats Bayou complain about you fishing near their dock?
Never.
Which stake out pole holders are those?
Ram Mount
This looks like offats bayou or tiki island?
Damn it Brother u Got it u living the Dream I at Mad at you God Bless you and your family Brother 💪💯🙏
Thank you so much
Place??
Galveston
@@MDLRFishing what part of Galveston?😎
That water is glass.
It was nice but hot 🥵
@@MDLRFishing what time do you like to hit the water? I'd really like to have a day like you did. Those were some amazing catches.
Right before sunrise.

Best of luck out there, stay cool⛄️
BFS?🤣 everything old is new again. Who knew I was using the BFS technique 40 years ago? I didn't 😅
That’s how I feel. It’s why I never say BFS, I’m just used to plain old finesse fishing.
@@MDLRFishing keep up the great "work" MDLR. Humidity be damned.
😂👍
