Unbelievable interview… It’s fascinating to hear Patrick’s thoughts and insights on the modern game of hurling... Imagine if Christy Ring was still alive and watching this interview.. what would he think and how proud would he be…? Patrick, you represent all that is good about the game of hurling for all counties, not just Cork.. You have zero interest in numbers and stats only loving the game and getting better every day and inspiring the younger generation.. So proud of you for that..
Outstanding content!! From mayo I’d naturally shout for the smaller county(no offence to clare)......but Sunday I’d love to see horgan get his deserved celtic cross, definitely the best without one.....one of the greatest with or without one
What a fantastic interview , he explains the spirit of hurling so eloquently 👍 I would love to see Hoggie (and Harnedy ) win an all Ireland 🇮🇪 and that’s coming from a Limerick supporter .
This mirrors Christy Rings interview with RTE in 1979, the passion for hurling, talking about Glen Rovers tradition of playing hard and how much the club means to both players, Hoggie will be idolised for years and years like Ring or JBM
This was unreal during the program yesterday.....I was close to tears, I don't live in Ireland anymore and those new minutes summed up the sheer love we have for the game and the joy it brings. Donal Og did a great job too just letting it soak in Nerding out about the grips and shape of hurls ❤
He works so much on his own personal abilities and contributions during any game but forgets one vital attribute to win an All Ireland winner's medal. You have to have luck and most importantly you have to be able to create something magical out of nothing and Tony Kelly's 5 scores in the 2024 All Ireland final are a shining example as to why TK has another title won for Clare.
Too much hype in Cork. I would love to see Hoggie win an AI medal but Cork remind me of Limerick going in against Wexford in 1996. Huges crowds huge expectation. Won the harder games, the media are probably on their said as well. But if I was putting money on it would Clare for me.
It's not. Transfers would come in quick succession after turning pro. You'd end up with a fake facsimile of sport like every professional sport where they buy their talent, and local hurling strongholds would wither because their talent would leave instead of staying on to teach and inspire the next group of lads. Hurling depends on tradition and location for its skill levels. Professionalism would kill the spirit of the game and eat away at the skills. It's not widespread enough to sustain that disposable approach to players.
the amateur ethos of the GAA is what holds everything together. once we let corporate greed set in, the game will be unrecognisable funny how you never see the players advocating for getting paid, only the fans. they get so much more than money out of this

Well said. A lot is made about the state of the game today. But I think players of old like Ring would look on in awe of the occasion that Cork v Limerick was two weeks ago. Truly a great era or hurling lies ahead.
Phenomenal interview. His passion for hurling shines through so strongly.
Love the way Hoggie always has his hurley with him. Saw him getting a haircut one day in a barbers with it 😂
If anyone deserves an all ireland it's this man
True
@@evelyntarrant4864 next year hopefully
Yeah but maybe this year.
He is a coward, hides under the bed for fun.
@RobertBurke-tq9zu you can't be from Ireland if your saying that about Patrick
Wish they would do more content like this with more hurlers
Ya, the best people to do the interviews them are ex hurlers. They have their finger on the pulse of the game.
They rather pump everything into rugby coverage instead
Best gaa content rte put out in 10/15 years at least
100%. Completely real. No robotic cliches.
100%. The sheer passion for hurling and Cork really shines through. Powerful stuff

Ringy Ince said the best are still to come
The likes of Patrick represents Christy Ring’s prophecy! Ring once said “ the best hurlers are with us now and better yet to come”
Brilliant honest interview. Rare to get such an insight
Hoggy abú. Great interview.
Brilliant to be able to listen to this conversation between 2 great Hurling men...Limerick supporter
Brilliant, 2 men talking honestly and with such passion about the greatest game there is.
Outstanding content!!

A hurler for a generation. Outstanding, as a player he’s up there. Hopefully he gets that medal , he deserves one more than anyone! CorcaighAbú 🇮🇪
Fair play to Patrick. Seems a sound lad.
What a fantastic interview , he explains the spirit of hurling so eloquently 👍
I would love to see Hoggie (and Harnedy ) win an all Ireland 🇮🇪 and that’s coming from a Limerick supporter .
Two legends of the game , ❤
One of the best and most stylish players to ever play the game. Tipp man here
Most Cork interview that has ever Corked

Jesus I must watch that. From staunch tipp man in his twenties
Brilliant interview. So many sports people are like robots nowadays spouting cliches. There was great emotion in this.

Nerding out about the grips and shape of hurls ❤

'keep your spirit'
wise words to hold on to

He mentioned Paudi Sull loads, scandalously skilful hurler for a long time
Great interview, up the Rebels! Would be great to see him win an All Ireland
SUPER INTERVIEW UP THE REBELS
3 hours a day in a ball alley just hanging out..
Unreal. Just loves hurling.
Hoggie Chief. A hurler's hurler.
THE SPIRIT OF THE GLEN BOY
It will be a tragedy if this man does not collect a all Ireland winning medal
Hoggie pleasee dont leave for another year!!
Bring it home Hoggie ✊🏻
🐐
Doubtcha Hoggie Boy

Rebels here rebels there. That's what ya get now .
Its fair bullshit players arent paid .

They get paid one way or another!!
The limerick lads get paid 🤣🤣🤣🤣

ah 100% words don't begin to describe how proud of this man Christy Ring would be
