Having a decent way of organizing and storing your tools like heavy duty plastic cases influences people's impression of quality more than most people think, including me.

Great video, thanks for making it. I know Kobalt marks their sockets with blue or red color bands to differentiate between metric and SAE. Husky sockets have 2 embossed rings around their circumference for metric and 1 for SAE.

I wish Husky would use the color marking overall though. Both are great values for the money.

I ended up getting the Kobalt set and I was pretty sure I would not like the thicker ratchets but, I think I do.... the weight is good and because of the weight of the ratchet it is well balanced and seems to help speed turn fasteners and the thicker head hasn't seemed to be a problem for me..... yet... also at 11:15 I think the higher Broach is a disadvantage because with large sockets you have large fasteners and the Husky could potentially not seat on all of the fastener.... the Kobalt will....

@@jeffparker360 Jeff, I just scored a new Husky 432 piece set on clearance at HD. It was an old dusty beat up box but everything seems there. I did notice that the Kobalt set was packed so much better. It was separated by the type of tools in boxes and then bagged in plastic. The HD set was just bagged in plastic. I'm going to take a hard look at which one I am going to keep. I might keep both if I have room. The kobalt set I bought in 2016 and I am thinking this Husky set might be from the same era. It seems the older sets might be a little better quality than the newer stuff. Let's see how long it takes me to organize my garage. Lol.

If there both the same in price then I would pick the Husky over Kobolt. That being said, I have the Kobolt 300 piece set. Got it for less then $150 bucks. That was an offer I couldn’t refuse. So, here’s why I say Husky. The size markings on the Kobolt sockets are not stamped. The laser etching WILL rub off over time... Super annoying. Unlike the Husky ratchets the Kobolt ratchets are super bulky. I don’t use them at all. I love the the the super sexy / sleek design of the Husky. The blue and red lines will also wear down but, still legible. And the flex heads on the Husky ratchets rock over the 1/4 & 3/8 breaker bars. Those you will never use unless for some reason your tight on space. Plus the Husky sockets have a single or double band around them to differentiate standard over metric. Both sets have a lifetime warranty. That’s my two cents. Craftsman/ china is complete garbage. I bought a set after mine was stolen and before I bought the Kobolt set. I was so disappointed I brought it back a purchased another one thinking I got a bad batch/ run. The second kit was just as shitty as the 1st one I bought. Tool marks all over the place, tolerances where off, ratchets where so slopped out. Never again.... unless I find an old USA made set at a yard sale. Lol..

None of my wobble extensions have that "lock in place" feature. I think that's really great. Or maybe they do and I just never noticed? Or they do but it doesn't work with my sockets? I don't know. I have had them for almost 30 years and used them almost to the point that I have worn them out. Perhaps I should look into some Husky wobble extensions to replace them? Also I like the "no click" feature on the Kobalt ratchet wrenches. I can't remember how many times I have been working with such limited space that even 5º arc is too much. Finally, I never noticed the color coding on the Kobalt sockets when checking out the tools at the store. Jeff didn't mention it, but I saw the same color coding on the combination wrenches. That's pretty cool, although I keep my SAE and metric tools pretty well separated in the tool box. I guess what I am saying is that this was a REALLY informative review and and will probably enhance my tool box even though I have no intention of getting either one of these sets. Well done, Jeff!

Craftsman socket sets are made in China and not all that much better than "Walmart Special" socket sets, certainly not 3 times the price better. Though the made in Taiwan Gunmetal 120 ratchets from Craftsman kind of seem like collector items that belong in a glass case, I enjoy having them more so than actually using them, that's not a bad thing. The last ratchet count was 26 lol, may up to 27 or 28 now.
