    One of the nicest tractors I have ever operated was a 584 hydro 4x4 with the the Japanese front axle. Great Tractor.

      The 584s were a nice tractor but those Japanese axles were terrible, took 40 acres to turn the things and the wheels fell off them like clockwork!
      Thanks for watching!

    I spotted that nasty looking chisel with my one eye. Please be careful. Great instructive video, as always.

      You're right, I am a bit slack on the safety side of things. I'm trying to be smarter, got a couple of young lads here that I'm trying to be a good example for.

    Great videos! Ive got a 584 aswell. I have the valve cover off to replace the gasket and want to adjust the valves while I'm there. My crank pulley has several little marks close together. Do I go by one in the middle for TDC?
    Thanks

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the middle one would be TDC. Thanks for watching!

    Hello.I have a 500c ih crawler loader and am getting antifreeze into crankcase. Is there a way to know for sure if it is the orings on the sleeves that have gone bad. It has a d155 3 cylinder in it..Thanks

    Hey, just found your channel and videos while looking for info on my 584.. Has milkshake for oil, from what I'm hearing it's most likely the sleeve O rings or oil cooler.. engine runs nicely still.. 4000 hrs... is it worth doing an in-frame or pulling the engine and doing it all.. I'm going to pull the head here soon and see if the head gasket is blown

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could drop the oil pan leaving the head on and coolant in and see if there is coolant coming from inside the cylinder or around the outside, that will help narrow down the problem. Pull a main bearing and a rod bearing and see what they look like, that will help you decide if you need to pull the crank. Thanks for watching!

      I think everything behind the clutch would be the same as this 584.

    hello, I have an international IH 1046 and I noticed that when I pass my 3rd gear it is hard to pass and I have a little trouble getting back into neutral while the other gears are easy to pass, know you what can it come from?

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your linkage outside the transmission, otherwise I would say that you're going to have to dig into the transmission. Thanks for watching!

    Enjoyed vid Dave thanks 👍.if serviced correctly how many hours would you expect to get out of that engine when rebuild is done

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A well maintained and cared for engine like this could give up to 10000 hours of service with just regular maintenance. I believe this one had around 6000 hours but got badly over heated causing the piston rings to lose their tension.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hi there. I own a case ih wheel loader with a d239 in it, she's getting sad, still starts ok but loves oil, even dropped a valve n lived another day. I'd like to stick another engine in it but a replacement d239 is stupidly priced. The engine is not original and is under powered, I'm trying to work out what other ih engines share the same bellhousing. Information is hard to come by. Any ideas that could help out? Kind regards from new zealand.

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a d246 and a d-268 that were in the 84/85 etc series tractors that should bolt up. There was always a plate that bolts to the back of the block which attached the engine to the clutch housing.

    Good day Boy this video nearly got passed me. I have 574, I think german built? Would this be same? Thanks I have to watch next video. Those sleeves seem so easy to let go. Thanks

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 574 was the earlier model of the 684 so the size bigger than this ractor. It would have a D-239 engine but it is the same family of engines, the process would be exactly the same.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hi Dave
    Thanks for the video. Would a 484 International be similar? Other than being a 3 cylinder
    Cheers
    Martin

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes the 484 is the same family of engines, exactly the same process except no engine balancer. Thanks for watching!

    Why does my 574 burn water

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be a coolant leak, blown head gasket, cracked head, or bad sleeve o-rings. Is the coolant getting into the oil? Thanks for watching!

    Hi Dave,
    Rebuilding an international 684 and was just reassembling it. On the two hydraulic pipes that go from the hydraulic cooler and connect by the battery box, there's a third pipe that branches off and can connect a hose on it. Where does this hose lead?
    Thanks

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That may be the pipe that feeds the brake system.
