I’ve watched this video about 10 times in the past 8 or 10 years. Love the “night in the Cain” videos and storm in the cabin. Finally have my own cabin with a jotul 602 about 300 feet from the house.thanks for all of the great videos.

This is one of my favorite channels. I too am a retiree, But I am a American living in the Spessart Mountains, Germany. As a coincidence I also have a small Cabin on my property. We get good snow for about 5 months a year. Many thanks for the video. Hal
Me too I live in a cottage nestled up against the Allegheny mountains there's about a thousand people population in a village not too far from where I live but no I have all the amenities that anybody would want there are cell towers a lot of places so it's no hardship at all for me you have to look with Better eyes in here with better ears and you must learn to love yourself before anybody else but are we not the most luckiest people in the world

Thank you. It was nice and cozy we had a blizzard last night and this morning 30cm or so of new snow, I spent the day out in the cabin again. It's a combo smoke/co2 alarm and it usually goes off when I first light the stove it puffs a bit until the chimney heats up. I'm thinking about some solar power next year enough to run a small 12v refrigerator and a light or two. Now that I'm spending more time out there a composting toilet might be on the agenda too LOL.
A friend put me on to your site this morning and I can't tell you how very much I have enjoyed it. Reminded me of how my life use to be at times before I became an antique. I love your Island. Use to spend a lot of time there when my college friend Annabelle F. was living. Looking forward to seeing more of your films.
I've always liked tongue and crove too, and I know what you mean about the cost, but now, since it's only the ceiling, I can handle the cost. My celing is just like yours, and WOW what a Beauty! Isn't it great to have a place to go when the snow starts, and the electric may go out? I know I love it. My garage has everything I need to keep warm, cook, sleep, and just enjoy. Only things left to finish it are, the ceiling, and a lot of good books to read. Bless

It reminds me of Montana. I spent 3 wonderful years there about 30 years ago and I am still very much in love with it. Your house and cabin are beautiful. Dale have you ever tried mountain pie Maker's! You know the steel type with two pieces of bread and you hold it over the fire flipping on both sides of the pie Maker and you can also make delicious desserts like cherries or bananas or peanut butter and marshmallow or blueberries and cream have you ever tried that

Thanks Garry it is very cozy. My next visit to the cabin will need to be on snowshoes we are in the middle of a blizzard right now, I was just out to my wild bird feeder through knee deep snow.
oh, my house is a bit smaller at 13x6. when it gets icy the house gets even hotter and I have to open up the windows. I used cedar plywood for the inside and the smell is wonderful. thanks for having us over for the power outage.

Wow! What a great cabin! I was watching one of jihadacadien's videos when I noticed your cabin, so I just had to come see it. I have a 12x32 garage that I finished off and made into a comfortable place to stay when we go to the beach, so I figured that I may get some ideas from yours. I DID too! Love the wood, and although I have drywall up, I think I may do my ceiling just like yours, I love yours! It looks fantastic, and it's the only thing left for me to finish. Thank you!

Wow! What a great cabin! I was watching one of jihadacadien's videos when I noticed your cabin, so I just had to come see it. I have a 12x32 garage that I finished off and made into a comfortable place to stay when we go to the beach, so I figured that I may get some ideas from yours. I DID too! Love the wood, and although I have drywall up, I think I may do my ceiling just like yours, I love yours! It looks fantastic, and it's the only thing left for me to finish. Thank you!

I just stumbled on your videos as well. Funny that this is my 2nd one to watch too. From what I've seen your cabin is beautiful. I'm loving the snow especially considering it's so hot here in Arkansas. I'm sure it's not snowing there now nut it is so refreshing to see. I am NOT a Summer person at all. I haven't become familiar with you so I haven't any idea of where you're located.
