    One of the only soloists whose TH-cam channel contains “real” actual practice, which I so appreciate! It’s incredibly motivating. I’m coming to this feeling like I’ve lost what edge I ever had because of just teaching lots of beginner to intermediate lessons during the pandemic and having no performance opportunities (*side note… I do love my job!!). I’m trying to build back my (seemingly lost forever) technique… practicing with this, pausing to try to apply what I’m hearing and seeing, is giving me hope and getting the gears of progress churning again in me. First time since grad school and it’s making me feel alive. ❤

    I had my comments section disabled forever on YT, but I re-enabled them only to tell you that I admire you and musicians like you, who translate almost unspeakable music language to such amazing notes from the best musical instrument in existence (tied with the piano). Thank you for existing and I wish you the greatest luck!

    Thank You so much for this video of The 1st mvmt of the Mendelssohn. You practice the same way I do. Yes the Yost method from Dorothy Delay. I love how you talk about the importance of leaving out the double stops when getting the melody line in tune. You are an excellent example of how playing a string instrument and the practice that goes into it is meant to be! I love that you emphasize the first interval. That is so crucial for intonation. You also talk about your articulations, and the importance of practicing slowly. I love this! Thank you so much. I wonder, also do you wear heels when you perform? At Indiana University we were always told not to. But gosh! Yes the ball of the foot! God bless you in all your endeavors. This concert and your master’s recital are going to be phenomenal! I hope you do post it!!! Thank You so much! Love to you!!!!!!

    Thank you for sharing these free concerts. It’s so great to see someone with such a passion for what they love… My wife and I have our daughters taking piano lessons. The ability to play an instrument, I believe, is so important.

    Something spontaneous just occurred. Lulu (my small orangeish cat) was drawn to the first few notes of this practice. So she jumps up on the armrest of my chair looking for the source of the sound. Then she attacks the phone and my hand. So I made a quick video about it. She looks oh so innocent! Bored too! I'm certain viewers will laugh: Lulu - the oh so sweet attack cat!

  • @Skinny_Karlos
    @Skinny_Karlos 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Esther, your content/playing is just great, but just one little bit of... advice, maybe, you really need to do something with your microphone. You're just not coming through as loud as all other sites/uploads. As I said you can certainly play that fiddle, no question there, but either the microphone placement or the actual microphone that you're using is letting you down. It's not a big problem to have as it can be fixed relatively cheaply and easily, but do have a listen to another site's content then put yours up for comparison and I think you'll agree with me. I do enjoy listening to you play but I have to really turn my volume up loud to get you through. All said with the best of intentions, NOT criticism in any way. :-)
