A bit more 'technically advanced' than the whippet racing that happened on Sunday mornings on the pit field in the village I grew up in (South Yorks Coalfield). The lure would be dragged by a line wrapped round the rim of an old (upside-down) bicycle, with someone hand-cranking it like wotsit. Whippet are lovely family dogs, do not cost much to feed, and double as the 'family racehorse' 🙂
That's the problem with borzois and lure coursing, they're too smart for it. They learn quickly to anticipate where the lure will go based on previous tracks and instead of blindly following the lure, they tend to go their own way, sometimes even straight to the finish. Greyhounds and whippets usually have stronger prey drive, they'll follow the lure blindly based on chasing instinct and put less thought into where it's going.
This is so good for them, without taxing them too much,..I at first thought they were just frolicking about, although for them this is frolicking, a leisurely walk,..they're use to more intense, high speed running,..but this is so good for them,..a little sprint as it were,..I didn't see at first that they were chasing something,..lol,..good little exercise for them,..they need that, it's lovely that you do that for them,..a little friendly competition,..Godspeed, long healthy, happy life to them and family,...
for the highest speed when hunting a hare, the Horty were used. Borzoi is a little slower, but stronger and bolder, which is necessary when hunting a wolf.
There is a battery powered spinner, the string is set down around the field hold down my pulleys. Similar to shown in this video but with continuous loop. th-cam.com/video/bL_DTpz1EyI/w-d-xo.html
Watching any dog vids make me happy. Those three breeds are GREAT. Very beautiful, and fast as all hell !!
When dogs run and bark like this they are in Haven😊
That little whippet can shift, they’re absolutely loving it .
I didn't even know they were chasing something at first, and jesus they're fast! It seems like the dogs had a great time.
protip: Tell the grey they won, even if they didn't. They're the only one who actually cares about that XD
It looks like the borzoi is experienced and knows that the coursing bait will come back.

🤣🤣🤣
I had a borzoi, absolute dumbest dog I ever had
Or .... The dog hadn't a clue.
You mean they’re simply slower
Where can I find out more about the lure they are chasing?
As they say, "work smart, not hard."
Props to whippet!
Three dogs living their best lives!
Born to run !!!

That borzoi made the first great cut-off attempt. I wonder how well those puppies slept afterwards?
Damn I can live without listening to that all day
I like that whippet.
Borzoi intelligent
You have a very big back yard.
This is a private farm in southeast.
Are they chasing a drone? Its freaking fast.🤗😮🤗
Mechanical plastic lure on the ground.
Is a Whippet as fast as a Greyhound? It seemed it. or at least more endurance
Go team Whippet! 😊
wow, that Borzoi does not understand what's going on! Great run by the Greyhound!
Borzoi has the course memorized. He was running intercepts, not hounding.
@@edster612 I see, thanks for the response!
@@edster612 good response indeed

@@edster612 oh man what a good little doggo team they have assembled
Borzoi should’ve gone to SpecSavers 😂
Longbois
