Actually it was the Russo-Japanese War just before World War One. It was the first time that an Eastern Power defeated a European Power, but you'd probably say that Russia shot itself in the foot and defeated itself.
I prefer Drachinifel's videos on the Second Pacific Squadron, if only because he has a good bit more detail about some of the additional incidents they commited, and a full brakedown of the battle of Tsushima. and on the subject of Russian Naval embarasements, Laser Pig has a new video on the Sinking of the Moskva... and holy shit, this current war is just turning into a "worst of" highlight and rerun reel of everything that has ever been wrong with Russia(and now that I've said that, hopefully this trend will not include making nuclear reactors explode)
I also prefer Drachnifel’s video because he doesn’t make Rozhestvensky out to be “the smartest idiot in the Special Olympics” and somehow also to blame for the screw-ups of this shitshow. He didn’t ALLOW THE MEN TO TAKE ANIMALS ABOARD. They did it while he was sick (probably from the stress of being a retard wrangler…for RUSSIAN retards no less). And he couldn’t afford to waste ammo training because he wasn’t GIVEN enough ammo to train the troops on the way to the battle.
Oh boy, another reaction to a video about this nonsense? Yes please! I actually saw this one before your reaction introduced me to Drach's. Still not quite as insane as the first crusade (I recommend Extra credits for that one.)
I thought this was an excellent reaction video. You let the video play as much as possible, and all of your comments were relevant, interesting and/or funny. You saved the lecture for the end, when you knew which parts BlueJay did and didn't cover. BlueJay's video is also great. Great jokes and interesting info in a short amount of time.
My biggest criticism of this video is that it doesn't really get across how much of a nightmare this was for the Russian sailors. If you actually think about it from their POV, it's still hilarious, but it also becomes horrifying.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to likewise suggest Drachinifel's video about this incident. One highlight for me is the bit about how that one engineer wrote about sleeping with his head away from the door since he noticed rats would use that end of the bed as a highway.
Bluejay is a channel that takes more of a comedy spin on things history, wouldn’t fit the narrative of that very well if they added that don’t you think?
@@themalcontent100 They at least used to have nukes. Nowadays I think the Orthodox Church is so heavily involved with their nuclear program because they're pulling a Mechanicus and are just praying that they still work.
5:36 ok so technically not as unrealistic a prospect as you might think. Japan at the time was buying a lot of naval vessels from the British and sending over skeleton crews to sail them over to Japan. So, in theory, it was *possible*, however unlikely, that the Japanese would send a small fleet's worth of battle-ready sailors to England to puck up some freshly built boats... extremely unlikely but possible.
It's interesting to note that the Japanese suffered massive losses of their own during the land campaign, to the point that one general (I believe, I'm talking from memory) later asked to resign as he believed he had failed the Emperor in having such a costly victory. The difference was that the Russian command was incredibly indecisive and fragmented, which made it pretty much impossible for them to properly leverage the advantages they did have with things such as coordinated counter-attacks.
It happened in the Russia/ Japanese war and NOT WW2. Before you react to a Blue Jay video you need to educate yourself on what Era that Blue Jay is talking about. BRITISH SABATON FAN 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Lol, my brain was damaged

Like Drachinifel says, "...and things got worse." is a Russian meme.
russia just one upped that whole thing. they lost a submarine. in a landwar. against a country with no navy@@willarth9186
Almost every case of friendly fire was against the poor Aurora.
Oh and in the Dogger Bank Incident all the Russian Deaths were from Friendly Fire.
Which makes it impressive that the damned thing is STILL around. Ruskies can't even kill their own equipment.😂
At least the Kamchatka could hit things. ...maybe not the right things. But things.
I CATO SICARIUS HAVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO MANY TIMES NOW. MUCH MORE THEN MARNEUS CALGAR WICH MEANS I SHOULD BE CHAPTER MASTER!
Dear Captain Cato Sicarius,
I have a message from the Chapter Master for you:
*"You asking for a FISTIN', boy?"*
You opinions about the Russians?
OI GUILLIMAN! KILL SHITARIUS OR I'LL INVITE ANGRON TO DO IT!!
Unless I misheard the start, I believe you said in the opening that this happened during WW2. But it happened before WW1. Lol!

Did you hear about the HRE princes dying in a horrid latrine disaster?

IIRC there were four separate cults that popped up during that voyage.
The USA seriously thought Russia was a threat?
When nukes were involved back then yes but these days their once more being the military laughing stock
@@spartana1116 are we sure that they have nukes? Or just cardboard boxes with 'nuke' scribbled on them?
@@themalcontent100 reasonably sure.

You might as well round out the topic by doing Drach's 5 min guide on the Kamchatka.

Yostar presents russian shipgirl wifus on Azure Lane....
I recommend "The Craziest Projects that were Almost a Reality" by the same Bluejay creator
Yeah, that was.... something.
Some people really need to be kept away from public funding.
Drachinifel covered this. Look up "Voyage of the Damned."

Something giving similar vibes that he may actually not know aboutI can recommend "The meme battle that no one is talking about: battle of Fuengirola"
Goddamnit, Igor.
Do reaction videos of Sam O'Nella's videos please.
Thought this would be a sam O'nella video
This was halarious 😂
