It's crazy the silly things in history done because a country didn't want to look "weak". As for bluejay he has a lot of good videos, I hope you can check out more

14:30 - "you don't want to start an actual war by firing on another country... they had to know they were in the wrong"
counterpoint: "we're one hundred frenchmen strong and a hundred frenchmen can't be wrong" certainly applies to DeGaulle and the French army

The emu war wasn't so much a loss and more a "we got bored." Also, Blue Jay's video on the 2nd Pacific Fleet is a good watch as well. In fact, just look up "Voyage of the Damned"

"This is why we don't get greedy kids" Meanwhile, USA has done some of the most exceedingly greedy shit imaginable. Not that that's your fault, it's just kind a funny statement. :P

DE Gaule had been a royal pain in the backside of all of the western powers since the German invasion of France in 1940 and he was just a colonel in the tank corps. During WW II, he was constantly worried more about 'French Honor' than beating the Germans, even while they were occupying France. Even his position as the Free French leader was bogus. He had just declared himself as such without any authority (actually, in spite of others who out ranked him and had the legitimate power). He was responsible for both the Vietnam Wars (the French and US versions).

Yikes. I apparently need to watch a hate video on him or something

Not a 'Hate Video' but just a regular biography with interviews with the other leaders at that time. He managed to piss off nearly everyone, even fellow Frenchmen at that time. After the Normandy invasion, he threated Eisenhour that he was going to refuse the Allies use of the French railroad network to supply the troops if he didn't get his way. @@AmericansLearn

De Gaulle was brought up to think that dying in battle was the greatest honour and he failed to do so in WW1 and WW2, so he ruled France just like his personal life, full of inferiority complexes.

What is a lobster? 'tis what a scorpion comes up with when you ask it to describe a mermaid. ^_~

"What is a lobster is not that silly" when you realize that biologically there is no such thing as fish. When it comes to mammals, reptiles birds, etc. All of them have one species that started that and and all species are related to each other. Fish groups evolved independently, and aren't related. That's why for example sharks don't have bones. Their ancestors never developed them.
When treaty says "fish" there is a question "what is a fish" and "is a lobster a fish"

While biologically lobster obviously isn't a fish the argument that France tried to make isn't as much that it was a fish, but rather that it should be treated as such for the purpose of the convention agreement, since the intention behind it was to allow fishing, aka extraction of food from the sea, and fishing for lobsters is in essence the same thing. It's quite reasonable take actually. Obviously putting it that way isn't as funny tho, so forget I said anything
