In my day... when I was studying Economics.... the controversy was between Americanism, Fascism and Communism and I'm not sure I have ever understood the controversy. There is talk about raising chickens in pens without light or much space to move and how Cattle are raised and fed and I do wonder at times whether this is in the future for Human Beings. I guess it bothers me because I was once told that I was not allowed to have any friends and the reason I was not allowed to have friends is that people were afraid I would not work. At the time it was just before the Prom and I ended up working Prom Night in my Fast Food place serving burgers and such. It was a part time job... maybe 32 hours a week if I was lucky and what would be the problem of having a few friends the other 100 plus hours a week? I simply don't know if any system will make a difference in the future of Humanity or if any change will make anything better. People are talking about Capitalism as slavery but what is Communism. And even if I advocated for Communism would the "form" of Communism matter? I mean, would how Communism or Social Democracy or Democratic Socialism or Capitalism or Americanism ... would the how a system was implemented be more important than changing the system? I did not realize that I'd get the reputation for being a radical if I talked about these subjects so I always go back to freedom, Democracy and Capitalism or American Mixed Economics as being as good as any system because how the elements of an Economy are implemented might be as important as what is implemented. There are so many questions and so many people doing research and it is all valuable ... maybe we will come up with a perfect system or maybe we'll just come up with a very imperfect system but the millions of people who are suffering will have no voice and will not matter because they aren't worth anything. So even while I search for something of value I still come back to hard work and making an effort to be prosperous and successful. And if society has already decided I am not worth anything ... if the decision has already been made... then maybe my battle is already lost. There was a time when improving the system meant something to me... but it also equaled hard work and diligence. If a man graduates from High School and finds employment at $70,000 a year working somewhere such that he has a decent income and all... sure there is more to life than money but the variables are incredible. Does he have a wife and family he loves and does he like his work and is he telling us the truth when he answers these questions or is he lying because he thinks he has to lie? Is he really happy or does he just say he's happy? People can get angry with you for simply asking a question.
More people like you are needed my guy.. I sympathize with the fact you don't or didn't exactly have ideal life because of social relations and norms. But the fact you are willing to still go with realism even knowing to admit we don't and never will have a perfect life is honorable and noteworthy. And I want a project that could perhaps help humanity one last time. A final ditch effort that even United Nations would have to participate in to work.. Replacement of child births with adoption combined with adopting Protesting nature that refuses violent unless self-defensive actions. A Common enemy is both overpopulation and underpopulation. We reach ovepopulation by breeding and we reach underpopulation by not giving Birth. Best before having the highest Birth months is to relocate any existing children that live in overpopulated nations to parents that are qualified for child care and want a child. Animals have adapted this nature of taking care of other babies of different species including ours. So what stops us from doing the same within our species? Sadly Ego and Pride.
In the view of educated marxists, there is a fatal flaw in each system. Social democracies fail to stop capitalists from exploiting third world labor and stealing the wealth of other nations. Democratic socialism simply never happens because the ruling class of a capitalist society never abdicate their power peacefully.
Social democracy is unstable, and the wealthy can reassert control like the neolibs in the 80s. However, it can create conditions for the working class to transition to socialism.
We need a revolution to overthrow the capitalists but that makes for a vulnerable nation that tyrants and dictators can seize to make a dictatorship. Infact, that's what happened in Russia in the October Revolution.
Democratic Socialism doesn't work. Here's why. Suppose you have a village where everyone has collectively agreed that they will all build each others' houses. Naturally, some people will start slacking off, not helping to build anyone's houses but still expecting houses to be built for them. What do you do then? You either force them to keep working at gunpoint, in which case the system has collapsed into Dictatorial Socialism, or (the more natural and obvious response) you say to them "If you won't help build anyone else's houses, we won't build any houses for you", in which case the system has just collapsed back into Capitalism.
Socialists are hateful, irrational narcissists. Motivated not by justice and virtue as they would have you believe, but by laziness, bitterness, a sense of entitlement, and a Kindergartner's understanding of reality. I shouldn't have to explain to grown adults why everything can't just be free. It's like trying to explain to a toddler why they can't just eat ice cream for dinner. The greatest irony of it is that successful Socialism, or even just a generous welfare state, requires as a minimum the maintenance of a strong community spirit on a grand scale. But it's the very kind of people that become Socialists that put me right off the idea. They are the absolute last people I would want to work for for free.
Either you didn’t read the fine print on the “MAGA” stuff or you’re not tired of the politics of our day. Just supposed to be humorous. But if you didn’t find it that way, that’s fine.
Would be nice to not have to hear the platitude "generous social benefits" in each and every context where someone tries to explain the Scandinavian model. If you go to the bank and withdraw some or all your savings for whatever purpose you see fit, would it make much sense to talk about a generous bank?
Sorry but it’s just a dream Go get yourself good education, become competitive worker or even start your own business rather than dreaming that other people will pay for your laziness.
Canada would be considered a Social Democracy as well. Also one if the largest economies in the world. It adapted its views from the Scandanavian countries and continues to create a robust economy but has been hijacked by the far left as of late. Hoping this will change next election.

I thought this was a very beautiful comment. Thank you for sharing.
Replacement of child births with adoption
combined with adopting Protesting nature that refuses violent unless self-defensive actions.
If I could afford it, I'd move to Denmark.
Damn making them mean different thing and just position different was the worst idea ever😂
Democratic Socialism sounds like communism with extra steps
Yep
BASICALLY WE NEED MNORE DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM K THANKS
Im finding myself to be kindoff inbetween the two
In the view of educated marxists, there is a fatal flaw in each system. Social democracies fail to stop capitalists from exploiting third world labor and stealing the wealth of other nations. Democratic socialism simply never happens because the ruling class of a capitalist society never abdicate their power peacefully.
One makes a country rich (nordics) and the other one is fiction
But they appear to work. So these "educated" Marxists can critique all they want but their system is flawed from the get go.
@@realdragao6367social democracy does not make country rich, rather it's rich countries that can be social democracies.
So just capitalism vs socialism
They are the absolute last people I would want to work for for free.
it has never been practice anywhere in the world... how could you possibly know?
I enjoyed the video very much. But why the Scab-like, Reactionary MAGA crap in the Illustrate to Educate store??
Either you didn’t read the fine print on the “MAGA” stuff or you’re not tired of the politics of our day. Just supposed to be humorous. But if you didn’t find it that way, that’s fine.
Democratic Socialist here🤚
No, it’s not because that is the government
Isn't Venezuela Democratic Socialism
no, it's a marxist-lenninists country
@@levelzanimationsThe goal of socialism is communism.
Vladimir Lenin
@@anthonyoer4778
the goal of capitalism is imperialism and then its final phase which is fascism.
@levelzanimations such an intellectual response...thank you.
One is capitalistic and the other is communist
That’s a good way of summing it up 👍🏼
Democratic Socialism isn't communism
Would be nice to not have to hear the platitude "generous social benefits" in each and every context where someone tries to explain the Scandinavian model. If you go to the bank and withdraw some or all your savings for whatever purpose you see fit, would it make much sense to talk about a generous bank?
Sorry but it’s just a dream
Go get yourself good education, become competitive worker or even start your own business rather than dreaming that other people will pay for your laziness.

וואי וואי וואי..זה חתיכת כתב אישום חמור מאין כמוהו..
I think some Social Democracy states are: France, Canada and Austria.
I also think some Democratic Socialist states are: Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Non of the Scandinavian countries are socialist. Private business make up huge parts of their economies.
@@Fuhrerjehova There got alot of social programs
They all are soc dem
I would say that Nordic counties are closer to social democracy and Canada is more inclined towards Social Liberalism
Scandinavians are not socialists ffs
Canada would be considered a Social Democracy as well. Also one if the largest economies in the world. It adapted its views from the Scandanavian countries and continues to create a robust economy but has been hijacked by the far left as of late. Hoping this will change next election.
No European country has a real military 😅😅😅

Cooperatives are not an essential feature of democratic socialism.
No, but they are a common, and I would say useful, tool.
Since writing my comment I've come to believe cooperatives are capitalist structures as the means of production are still privately owned, even if ownership is shared by the members of the coop.
So social democracy works and democratic socialism don’t
If only USA would go either way! I would line up to get a job there. Capitalizm suxx!
America 😂😂😂
Sri Lanka is an example for democratic socialist country
nan it's not
It's a very nepotistic, capitalist state ruled by corrupt elite families who took over after colonisation.
De jure socialism, but quite clearly not de facto socialism
Socialism through democratic means. Ooooooookkkkeyyyyyyy.
This video is completely inaccurate. Here is a MUCH better explanation of socialism vs democratic socialism!

This video wasn’t about socialism vs democratic socialism. Probably why you thought it was inaccurate. Make sure to read the title carefully…
so pretty much two forms of communism
No? Communism is the government owning all property and means of production. Private businesses exist in Denmark, private property is the norm in western Europe.
@@grengrenhuskey ok so tax the crap out of businesses to supplement everyone else. Sounds like big government to me.
@naturaldisaster2 Sure, but taxes are used well in a place like Denmark.
Other places are unfortunately not only too big government but very corrupt.
Denmark is also the least corrupt country in the world.
How is that communism?
