      These videos were made to show the seller the problems I was having with the burner.
      I'm happy to make a video of the complete setup, maybe I'll get the time to do it soon.

    Cheers for posting, even though it was for the manufacturer! I've been contemplating one of these for a while now, but there seems to be limited videos on here for info and I find the manufacturer difficult to understand finer details with. Have you any Idea what Cfm of compressed air is needed? I can't decide if best to run of my own compressor or buy built in. I see the operating pressure is nice and low. 3000ltrs... how much kero would you have used prior to getting this. How is it performing a year on? Cheers, Kai

    • @EugeneVashenko
      @EugeneVashenko  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure about CFM but a small compressor would be sufficient, although I'd highly recommend buying one with a built in air pump.
      As with anything, once you know what you are doing, these are very easy to maintain and make adjustments if/when required.
      Many of the so called problems that people have are caused by the oil they are using. In my first year of use, I had a 2500 litre tank. I had the outlet about 100mm from the bottom. After a month or 2, the water and other particles would settle to the bottom and the oil was good to burn, the oil burner would run reliably. However each time I refilled the tank, the oil would get stirred up and the burner would run poorly with constant flame outs and problems relighting. As obvious as it seems now, at the time, when you are relying on it to run at least 12+ hours per day it was easy to say the burner was garbage and had problems.
      I now have 3 x 1000 litre tanks for storage and 1 more for pick up and delivery. I draw from one while the other 2 settle. Once it's empty, I switch over to the next one and refill the empty one and I have another 2000 litres worth of oil to use before I go back to it. By that stage it has settled and ready to use. This way the oil being burnt is consistent and the burner almost never goes out.
      Prior to the oil burner, I was using 4 x 340 litre electric heat pumps to heat the water with a daily electricity bill of almost $30. Now the burner uses $1 of electricity daily and the only cost is a few hours to clean it and collect the oil.

      @@EugeneVashenko Thank you for the comprehensive reply. The only thing that concerned me with attached compressor was the extra noise close to the house.
      It sounds like you have a reliable oil source, have you had any problems/experience with synthetic oils?
      Thanks again,
      Kai

    • @EugeneVashenko
      @EugeneVashenko  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rwdkai The air pump isn't as noisy as you might think.
      My oil comes from vehicle service workshops and is a mix of all types of motor, transmission and gear oils, sadly with coolant/water occasionally in the mix.
      The key is giving it enough time to settle before using it.

    Hi Eugen
    Is it worth the money to buy a oilburner? Im going to mount it in a danish pelletburning unit. KSM275-18
    I have free used fryingoil, about 5000 liters standing here now.

    • @EugeneVashenko
      @EugeneVashenko  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have access to free oil then definitely worth it. My running cost in electricity is $1 per day and 20-30 min to clean it each fortnight. I use it to run a hydronic heating system with 18 radiators. Small price to pay to keep the whole house warm.

    • @hunkenpunken
      @hunkenpunken ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EugeneVashenkothanks for quick answer.
      Does the frying oil need to be more than filtrated? Should i warm up the oil to loose water from it?
      What things in the burner need to be cleaned?
      Is the Bairan model best with or without the built in compressor?

    • @EugeneVashenko
      @EugeneVashenko  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@hunkenpunken The cleaner the oil, the less time you will spend cleaning the burner. Instead of wasting time cleaning, it's best to let the oil sit as long as possible, that way water and all impurities will settle at the bottom. Make a float and attach the oil feed line to it, and take the clean oil from the top of your tank.
      Definitely get the burner with the built in compressor, it's an all in one solution

      It doesn't stink, it burns clean with no visible smoke but you need to have a flue and exhaust it outside.

      I made the boiler but there's not much to see as it has a cover over it with insulation underneath. It's a 2 pass boiler, flame goes through large main tube, hits a rear cover that is coated in refractory and then passes back towards the burner through 10 or 12 smaller pipes, then out through the flue. It's all inside a large 350mm diameter tube that is filled with water.
      I go through about 1000L of oil each month, on average 30 litres per day.
      These burners are very good, even if sometimes the oil isn't fully burnt. To my best knowledge, this issue is related to the air pressure. I simply modified my boiler by lowering it at the rear and installing a drain. Any oil that doesn't burn simply runs to the rear and drips into a metal container.

    Can you make a video of that?

    • @EugeneVashenko
      @EugeneVashenko  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. These burners burn many different oils, used or new. In one of my earlier videos, I show it running on new vegetable oil. I don't have access to bulk used cooking oil so can't easily make a video. Be warned, oil use is high, my burner is set close to the lowest setting and this winter I have used over 3000 liters. The burner cycles on/off during the day as required, it is not running constantly.

      The air tube is the long thin aluminium tube that runs through the burner from the solenoid to the nozzle holder.
