Not going to lie, I found the maximum gameplay to be a lot better than I was expecting. It needs a lot of work but I was more impressed than anything. There's something there to build upon. Hope you're doing well man! Leaving a job can be scary, I did it for TH-cam when I had around 20k subs. I banked on myself and it's worked out so far, but I know it's a very difficult decision to make.

@@RyanMoody21 I am a bit like that, I had a perfectionist father. To him, nothing I did was ever quite good enough because it wasn't done exactly the same way he'd do it. So I never feel like whatever I am doing is good enough, and I am my own harshest critic. It is a hard habit to break, and I still haven't quite done it yet.

True. But deep down we all know that nothing changes until the NFL opens up licensing to MULTIPLE developers again. 2K isn’t enough. It needs to be like it was when 989 sports was involved and whoever developed NFL Fever. These developers need the pressure of competition and the threat of not turning a good enough profit for us to get good football games again.
@marxtheidoloftheidle5591 I agree 100% and really loved having an option to choose from. That said, I am not one that thinks APL 2K8 was this awesome game. I played it a handful of times, but I just never cared for the presentation. Unfortunately this is the state of video games.

I hear him but on the first clip if it was real life if a 300 hundred pound Guard with length at that angle the linebacker,safety, or corner wouldn’t have slowed the runner down. He would have been washed down. I know because I’ve played both sides of the ball. There’s nothing more terrifying than a 300 plus mammoth coming down hill with a running start no corner or safety is about to take that head on. 2nd in real life the back would of put his foot in the dirt and went off the left hip because he’d know the gap fits. But I’ll leave it to you experts.😂

this game is going to be solid, they will refine it and get closer to what we all want. EA will never change, you will always see the fan boys try to protect EA like they are on the payroll.
I think its just a beta and good news it is a free to play game. So it will get unlimited updates. I think its good. Graphics are really rich and gameplay looks smooth. I did see a clip of gameplay where the running back clips the defense after 10 yards for a big td run which i thought is realistic.
You lost me 4:49 in your analysis. The RB responsibility is to check MIKE BACKER to OUTSIDE BACKER BLITZ PICKUP! The left offensive tackle completely blew the pass protection on this play. If anything the Outside linebacker that blitzed late is a free runner and the receivers to that side becomes the HOT RECEIVER and adjusts his route for the unaccounted for free blitzing outside linebacker. If you are going to be critical of College football 25…be critical of this too!

Even if i dont agree woth your assessment of ea cfb i have to commend you on stepping away from your toxic job. I wish you nothing but the best going forward.
Here’s the thing that bugs me, you’ve had all these critiques about the game and have for a while and brought up issues from past installments, BUT you’ve had multiple chances to join their early access insiders, I myself and others let you know when it was open, to where you CAN communicate with the devs literally daily (I have been), but you haven’t done that or even attempted to. Hard to take your complaints seriously or the shade you throw about you not communicating with the devs when you’ve had several people pointing you to the opportunity to do so, but you fail to do so either out of ignorance or out of spite that they bought it from Dave. They do listen to feedback, so this is more of a challenge to you, reach out to Micah and the rest of the team, get into the Early Access closed beta group, provide that feedback you feel they need, versus making a YT video about what they need to fix instead. You have ways to communicate with them directly, but you haven’t. Do it.
Maximum just released a patch for the beta. Running and defense feel better.
Im not going to lie playing the beta this game has so much potential if you played all of their past titles

Watching it doesn’t give it justice you have to play it
The graphics and on field mechanics are the biggest improvements
Replays cutscenes post game stats etc
The UI is great ( my opinion)
And It seems like you can customize your controls big plus 💪🏾 from the options menu
-I had no issue navigating through the routes or play-call screen its simple
The scoreboard looks good in my opinion
But it looks better when playing the game
Pre snap menu and defensive adjustments are good
On field arts looks better than EA not gone lie 🤔
Scoring a touchdown transition is solid
-You can celebrate they have the griddy and a cool backflip ( my go to celebrations)
The movement is fair the kickoffs are weird definitely need a better kicker animation
-Kickers just walk to the ball to kick 😅
Running is stiff but is not a big problem with a player who has speed
-different run animations are needed
-you can cut and juke decently (stick skills do matter)
-the stiff arm and spin is cool you can avoid defenders
If you know how to run the ball
handoffs and reading the holes is an issue
Drop backs need work
Throwing is good not unfair you can place it well
The d-line play is actually pretty good the swim and spin are responsive
the catching is good for this game
With a more physic base approach it could be better
tackling wise the quick hits need to be ironed out for smoother transition
More animations could be used 🤷🏾♂️ in the tackling department
Coverage is ok
In air adjustments decent hold Y to catch
press Y to deflect
Strafe is actually good 👀
Defense you need to be ready or you will get beat easy
But its not impossible tackle tracking seems tuned up
But overall I came in with no expectations and I was surprised
this game could be a solid play and build a bigger fan base in 2 years from this build

I’m getting it video game development soon. Ryan, it’s super difficult to fix some things we want especially for football games. Football has the most moving parts of any sports title. EA is trash tho, but they just need a few 1000 more animations. NBA 2K gets a lot of flack, but only because of online. The simulation works because they have 10s of 1000s of animation so you rarely see the same move over and over. That’s also because there are less moving parts in basketball.
I know one time on defense there was no DB covering their far right receiver when there should have been and he catches the ball and streaks down the sideline untouched for a TD. I called a base 4-3 defense and there should have been man coverage on that receiver. After the score I watched the replay and no DB was near him at any point before or after the snap. Another thing that bothered me was I was running the ball with my running back and purposely ran towards one of my receivers blocking a defender to slow down another defender who had a good angle but instead of being blocked by the other 2 players he ran right through those players and made the tackle like they weren't even in his way. I've never played Maximum football before this open beta so I don't know what has or hasn't been fixed from previous versions. I've seen videos of a older version and it looks to be a lot better. I do remember it was mentioned there was only one guy programming the older versions. I'm guessing it's more than one guy now.
Your points are definitely fair. I feel like these developers will be more willing to make the changes to our feedback vs the madden team. Aside from these issues, I really enjoyed the look and feel of this game. It’s really fun.

5:42 same thing in Madden and every NCAA football game yo I swear 😂 it’s the universal broken play. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it to get back in a game that I was slacking off in 😂
I think 2:52 is where that glitch kicks in. It happened to me on a play. I tried to click on with 4 different defenders and when I did they all ran in the opposite direction of the ball carrier
I don't want to be an a-hole on how you look at games, but truthfully, you dogged this game more than all of Axis and the old Maximum Football games combined. These guys took over one of the worst football game franchises ever. It's a beta. These guys will fix it. They are listening to the community. I enjoyed this beta a 1000x more than any other Maximum Football game. Wait until the full game comes out before you rip into it.

Change of subject... SoftdrinkTV posted a leaks vid where he says that "the HC09 guy" is back in charge of Franchise in Madden.
If this is true, and Josh Looman the man responsible for the best and most NFL accurate sim (in my opinion) then this is huge. For me, it'd be akin to EA hiring Shawn Lee to work on the gameplay in Madden.
This is a good thing and after the debacle that was the answer to #FixMaddenFranchise this may be a glimmer of hope.
EA *still* needs to fix gameplay, but if they're taking this step to "fix" Franchise, then it's deserving of praise when they actually do something right.

I love your criticism of the game as I know you care a lot deep down but I want to say that realistically speaking no offensive or defensive lines will be perfect as if they were then it wouldn’t be realistic to real life. Now the warping and sometimes going through people as well as the game speed should be adjusted but you gotta have a little bit of human error in the game to make it that much more intense and realistic like in real life games
The game plays like ps2😂😂. Game is slow tjen speeds up. Players jump 20 yards to catch. Its a parady. Noone can claim its a good game.

Yeah, I was worried about some of the pass defense AI. It was a huge weak point in the previous Maximum Football games. The running animations also look a little poor. I am willing to excuse the graphics/animations so long as I get a solid playing game with good simulation. I am still going to give it a shot and see what I can accept with this game or if there is just too much annoying me that it isn't worth it.
I can definitely see why they delayed the game now but another 2-3 year delay would definitely help it needs a lot of work hopefully the continue developing it for years to the point where it’s in a more playable state without game breaking bugs but right now it’s pretty messy
It has alot of the older games issues in it. you can really tell if you played the past ones.
Madden wasent great out of nowhere it took many years of coding to get it to be the great game it was, the thing is if this game sucks and nobody plays it and buys microtranactions this company is going to be burning money for years developing a beta for a failing game, Madden was making money justifying its continued development
@@RyanMoody21 It is what I have been saying for a while now with these updates. It looks like Modus assumed they had more of a game than they actually did, and thought this came just needed a graphics overhaul (which it desperately needed) and they could be done with it. It was either this, or they knew what they had and figured they'd just lipstick the pig and send it out the door. The same legacy issues that have been around for a long time are still present. Modus has never made a Sports game. They make cookie-cutter RPGs that are not really mainstream titles, so I was worried they didn't have the chops to really fix this game. Still, I will be giving the game a chance when it finally releases and hopefully they listen to the community feedback to improve it going forward. I am still hungry for a good football game.

I need to see physics, gameplay, and clock management for CPU vs CPU. I don't play with a joystick. Is the sim accurate? That really matters. The game will always be odd with joysticks.

It’s kind of sad. I think the devs are onto something pretty good. However, there is still logic and gameplay tweaks that need to be fixed. The animations seem to happen too fast while the gameplay happened really slow (for example running). And there’s a delay when throwing the ball or making any sort of football move (ie tackling, spin, juke etc.)
I was more discouraged than encouraged playing this game. They need another year to improve the game imo.
