      I agree but I think that the vibes in Abu Dhabi are so fkn nice, the blue everywhere just sets a really nice and nerve racking tone, ik it does not have many overtaking opportunities but if they manage to fix that with the changes I think it will be a really nice circuit

    I'm surprised no one is appreciating Valterri for his brilliant drive.
    He is doing phenomenal job since signing the alfa deal.
    He is the dream support act for any team.

      Problem with Valtteri is he rarely makes it count on Sunday. I won't be surprised if Max, Sainz and Checo get him at the first corner

    Today was basically 24 laps of overtake practice for Lewis today. Hes gonna know exactly where and when to make the moves tomorrow, gonna be a great race.

      Max has been the moody dominant driver this season. He has been leading for almost 700 laps, the 5th most in F1 history. Do you think anybody could have been so dominant in his car? Or you think its not down to the car,its down to max himself?

    Love him or hate him, Lewis is yet again showing off his years of experience in this race with his incredible start. I'm also impressed with Carlos actually being able to hold off Perez like that, well deserved podium spot.

      swap formulas and max, norris, gasly and possibly ricciardo would gap him for a lap by the end of the race. His formula is 4-15% faster than any other formula at this moment. And being 0.1% faster than other is superior......

      Mmmmm everybody knows the merc and the rb are th best cars on the grid and every race they lap other cars so not really a difficult task to pass most cars when going full on with so few laps. He is still very talented though no question about it but he also holds the best cards in the game.

    Carlos ! Bottas and Hamilton they just nailed throughout the spirit 🔥 Carlos holding Perez , Hamilton's powerful pace and Bottas leading like a boss . This is one of the best Sprints of this entire season .

    I haven’t said this for a long time, but that was a proper old Lewis drive right there. Testing racing lines, impossible late breaking moves, and passing nearly the entire field.

      Right as a rookie Lewis was a very late braker. People will say his drive was due to the car but gaining 15 positions in 24 laps is no fluke. this was an amazing drive by Lewis, If Max does it everyone would be praising him to eternity.

      he was overtaking cars that had drs open as well. its not lewis its that merc engine combined with the suspension that lowers rake at high speed. look at 2:20 daniel has drs b ut lewis breezes past him, 1:41 as well, alonso has drs but lewis goes right by.

      ​@@armanromana1580 He was not able to breeze past initially and got stuck in the DRS train but he switch his strategy mid race for the last corner while racing tsunoda and started braking early and accelerating early so he can carry more exit speed which means he was less affected by turbulent air and had more exit speed. He was very close during exit that was and was able to use slip stream. He figured this out while trying to overtake Tsunoda and applied it to the rest of the field. Ted Kravits came on the commentary and revealed this. So its not just the car mate. He was able to breeze past everyone because he showed his adaptive skills and was able to stay close using slipstream to his advantage.

    I really love it and find it funny, that when Lewis is winning and being fast, people say it was just because of the car.

    I’m a huge Verstappen fan but I can’t deny that Lewis was amazing in the sprint race! And yes he clearly has an amazing car but I don’t think many of the drivers would pull of gaining 15 places in 24 laps even with his amazing car… I’ll still be rooting for Max today tho haha

    This sprint race highlights the approach f1 should take for future sprint races. Instead of tracks like SIlverstone where it is difficult to overtake, use a track like Interlagos , Sochi, or Baku where the super long straights and DRS zones allow for lots of overtaking, especialy considering there will be different tyre options.
    10/10 sprint, would watch again.

      @@sukhvirm8 I added Sochi because I personally find qualifying around that track somewhat uninteresting. Because of the straight it usually comes down to a tow from your team mate or a lucky slipstream.
      Now that Bottas isn't in a merc to claim his annual sochi race win I'd rather see a sprint race where with some weather/different strategies the slip stream can make it interesting.

      @@karl8805 on that day it was wet and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that having more downforce will make up for the reduction in speed. Williams had nothing to lose so they ran a really high downforce setup whilst Merc were not and focused more on straight line speed. Hence why George was ahead becuase he made up significantly more time in the corners as compared to power on the straights.
      First learn the facts and what goes on behind the scenes before you run your mouth making yourself look like an idiot.

      I hate Lewis with a passion but I admit that drive was amazing, to go from last to 5th in 24 laps scares me for what he can do in the race starting fifth, however most of the moves required no effort because of how suspiciously fast the merc is in a straight line.

    Lewis is consistently a great driver, but theres always a couple weekends every season where he is just an absolute monster on track. This is one of those weekends

      It's almost as if he has a much faster car, a fresh engine and a DRS advantage.
      None of those overtakes require any skill. He just waits for the main straight and he was past them before they even got anywhere near the braking zone.
