      Hi Phil! Cheers!
      At 1:17, would it be considered 'wrong' or 'inadequate' to just use the thumb (for volume) and forefinger (for filter) as an 'L' and just slide them down, adjusting the thumb (making a 'scissor' movement) according to how much filter/volume one wants? (I mean, my hands are not too big, so that'd still be possible).
      Thanks!

    You could also back spin the deck platter and cue up the second deck with solid bass of your second song

  • @nickash5

    Having a sampler or drum machine might help out to keep the beat going... yeah but your list of sure favorites tracks should be in a playlist so you can grab them immediately, along with transitions or mashups. Rather complicated if you start thinking about it, but a DJ yakking over the transition might just be distracting enough to work.

    If you can stand to allow a few more bars of the track to play go ahead and loop the intro on the incoming song and filter it in as you filter the bad song out. Also a backspin works well too.

    • @Anthonial_Mjj
      @Anthonial_Mjj 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought this would be useful but yeah, after learing to back spin and dropping a two beat scratch of the new song before playing, why would I ever do it this way? same result but shows that the dj can still mix properly.

      I was going to say the same thing but I saw your comment. DONT EVER TRANSITION LIKE THAT, if your in this situation effects are your best friend and you should never cut the song straight out.
      For example if I was to do an easy transition like that on that mix I'd have the kelis song looping the starting hook while increasing the high on milkshake and at the same time decrease the other tracks high end and the slowly transition to milkshake by changing the faders on each track slowly as you reach the end of a bar or verse on track one. There are many simple transitions that's just one but a straight low fi cut, stop and start is a big no no
