Alright, time to go in-depth with the different reactions. I'll be a bit long in my explanation of levels of detail applied to each game, so hold your horses folks, because we're going for the long ride. So, first off, let's start with Modern Warfare. As you can see, when using the 1911, you are able to spot right away the level of detail that was applied to the rendered shots per trigger squeeze. The muzzle flash was properly placed when the weapon fired, the open mouth detail whenever shooting, never looking away when firing, and the shell casings falling to the floor. You can see the second mag when he does the tac reload, and you can see the expended mag go flying when ejected. When he used the MG34, you could see that the muzzle flash was properly placed, and the smaller details, like his fingers moving the belt back into the mag to change it, were seen as well. For the RPG-7, it was a realistic loading sequence, featuring the insertion of the warhead before putting it back on his shoulder, and the smoke was properly angled as well. Also, another key feature this game noted: the character's dealing with recoil. You could see that the faster firing the gun, and the longer he held sustained fire for, he was clearly getting moved by that recoil, and the kick from each weapon was realistic. You can feel the emotion he gave as he fired each shot, and when his aim when to the sky, that was the pinnacle of accurate recoil effects, especially with the Olympia. Now, Vanguard. God I wanted to avoid this like the plague, alas, it was inexorable. So, it was apparent that they applied.....moderate levels of detail here. We can see that when he used the Kar98k, he clearly had bullets in his hand, and the same was seen when he stopped loading it. There were some muzzle flash details, though with some abundantly obvious errors and whatnot. If you look when he's firing the MG42, you can see that the muzzle itself seemed to be the flash, rather than appearing at the end of the barrel. It was as if they forgot that the muzzle doesn't become the muzzle flash, but more so, supposed to be at the end of the barrel, not becoming the barrel. Another err that can be spotted is the rather....dull look on the operator's face when he fires. On Modern Warfare, you can see the open mouth detail, angry expression so to speak. On Vanguard, I'm unsure what their goal was, but I'm going to assume he was taking a more....aiming style of face, though it's hard to tell since his expression barely changes when shooting and loading. He assumed a more calculating or judgemental squint rather than anger, so it didn't seem as...lifelike. Also, for Vanguard, when he reloads that M1 Bazooka, you can see once he put it in, the rest just....slid in on it's own. I'm unsure if that was an error as well, or intentional, but it irked me. Sustained firing in Vanguard doesn't feature as realistic of a kick like in Modern Warfare, where you could see the operator's aim visibly angling higher. Yet again, Vanguard featured some recoil detail...or, lack thereof, so it's middle ground I suppose. Overall, Modern Warfare, (obviously), features more detail, attention to the smaller things, and realistic shooting sequences, while Vanguard did their best to mimic their predecessor, though with obvious, easily detectable flaws. Lack of life, clunky editing errors, and bland operator expressions is what made Vanguard lose the detail race here, and not to mention, the weapons don't feel like you are holding a gun, more so....an airsoft weapon. Modern Warfare felt like you were holding something that could put a man down, while Vanguard feels like you're playing a (somewhat) immersive WW2 airsoft battle, so take that as you will. That's my assessment of Modern Warfare and Vanguard. I'm no gun expert, so please, correct me in the comments, or feel free to mention anything I may have missed. Or if I previously stated inaccurate detailing and evaluation, correct me on that as well. I'd like to see if I was accurate with my analysis.
