Beautiful terrain Frozen. Can understand the distress in missing so much of the trail due to fire but nature provides. Can also go back with family on a future trip

I was thinking the same thing.
Fire is worse and worse every year. Washington has had a fire season for most of my adult life and it used to be in August now it’s June so I think missing 200 miles due to fire on the whole trail is not that big of a deal. Great job and congratulations.

I have followed you for many years on your Pa hikes and never missed an AT video and hope some day you will do the foothills trail and I can meet you. I bought a small motorhome and I have joined Fresh Ground on some of his feedings and hope to be at the Foothills Trail this year

I live in Canadian Rockies and I've seen people hike horses up to the tops of mountains

Frozen, man, there are horses that have done the entire PCT in a year too, and most of it while carrying a rider and/or gear as pack animals! Physically, they're much more capable than us humans in a number of ways, not only strength. The biggest reason there aren't more thru riders IMO is the complicated logistics of water and adequate grazing for such large animals.

Horses do the Grand Canyon everyday.
Most of the Grand Canyon trails are pretty tame when it comes to elevation

I haven’t been reading the comments so excuse me if this was already brought up in the past. Just wondering if you met the Hiking Dancer (Roadrunner) yet. She has been in your vicinity for several weeks now. She does a good job of videoing also.
They met in Kennedy Meadows south. Her videos are not as delayed as Frozen's. So in TH-cam land they are hiking almost the same spot but they are about a week apart.

You are covering a lot of miles but sometimes you are confused about why you are tiered. I think sometimes you lose perspective when you have travelled a long time. I'd suggest and I could be very wrong to slow down the last 7 days so you ease out. Once you finish you will be back with family which will help and obviously is a big motivation to finish but you might be better to end not burnt out. It might be more challenging mentally though at this point not to be moving that is something a thru hiker of this type of distance can know I don't.
I'm tired because I'm hiking, filming and editing on trail and not getting enough sleep.
Also, benadryl has some nasty side effects as well, adding to the strenuous hiking day after day.
