I was able to visit this statue In Japan. Although not a dog my wife went there to honor her black cat Boo-boo who was her faithful companion for 19 years. Even when he went blind he always waited at the door for her to come home. Thank you Hachiko & Happy Birthday!
Being kind to dogs is so much better than being kind to humans. Dogs are too loyal to a fault. Theyre non-judgemental, non-hypocritical. Theyre honest, emphatic and non-scheming. Things that most humans are not
There is a viral video right now in the philippines. Its about a dog named "kilay". Kilay was adopted by a ship's crew member until the company went bankrupt and the dog's owner had to return home. He abandoned the dog at the pier. The dog stayed at the pier everyday, standing to look at every boat that docks hoping to see his owner again. One day the city pound caught the dog. The dog was staying in a cage with a view of the waters. The city pound employees would notice the dog would immediately stand up and wag its tail and bark whenever a ship or boat passed by. The employees took pity of the dog and released the dog and brought it back to the piers. While there, the people around fed and cared for the dog who was still waiting for its owner. One day a boat docked and the dog saw the port workers trying to pull the huge, heavy rope to anchor the boat. The dog decided to help by helping to pull the rope. And now, he is considered as one of the port workers. He would help pull the rope everytime a ship docks. He does this while still waiting for his owner to return and still waiting to be be reunited.
Imagine going back in time to Tokyo on the morning of May, 21, 1925 as the professor was on his way to Shibuya Station with his beloved Hachiko. Imagine tugging him on the arm and saying: "You don't know this but this is going to be your last day on the planet. Your dog Hachiko will come to the station everyday for the next 9 years in hopes of your return but to no avail. He will eventually die on these streets in search of you and due to his unmatched loyalty, he will become a national hero and a symbol to all Japanese of family loyalty and love. Mothers will tell their children the story of Hachiko for generations. Books will be written about him, movies will be made. Your dog will become the most famous dog in the world. For the next 100 years, people will travel from all over the world to visit this spot and to touch Hachi's statue. Professor Euno, take a look at him now. And as you look into his trusting eyes, know that your dog will have more of an influence on peoples' lives than most world leaders."
I think the Scot have similar story. For those interested, that dog has a statue in a cemetery where few known Harry Potter characters are buried. Greyfriars Bobby is the name and the cemetery is in Edinburg.
Hachiko and Richard Gere formed a wonderful pairing of dog and owner. I was teary-eyed during both the movie and the original story about Hachiko’s birth in Ueno, Tokyo. Hachi’s memory is still remembered after 100 years of his birth.
He was force to hop between several homes but it was far away from shibuya station so he run away and always came back to station while waiting for his owner which end up with 10 yrs of wait😢i wonder if he get to see his owner body will he able to accept his death as he never got a chance to say goodbye when his owner die from brain hemorrhage during a lecture.and all he knew that he get on train for work but never came back.for hachiko his owner was always on work while he waiting for work to be finished 😭
@@annavenus5584Sadly, he never see his owner's body because he didn't know if his owner was still alive. But, his loyalty was very touchable and inspired people that love can happen in different places.

Happy 100th birthday Hachiko! ❤🐕
Hachi will never be forgotten.
He is such an amazing dog. Human's loyalty is even worse than a dog. Dog is always a dog but human is not always a human
Loyal dogs are human's best friends.
but dogs eat people
Well well You mean bite right?@@very-very-very-well
My dog was very loyal, so I can connect with this! This one is for you Rocky RIP!
Your dog is not loyal - he is obviously local
For the last 3 years I always look to hachiko to find my way home from Tokyo when I'm in a pinch. To this day he's never led me astray

Hachi deserves his fame and immortality, but in reality, most dogs are as loyal to their owners.
What does it have to do with it?Philippines

We just visited the statue. Did not know he turned 100.
I remember Season 9 of The U.S. game show The Amazing Race had teams find this statue & a man wearing a yellow & red scarf gave them a clue.
If I am going to rate my girlfriend’s loyalty on a chart from 0 to Hachiko. It would be minus Hachiko.
No no, it is Tsai!

Are you okay?

thumbs up if you believed that there was as dog actually living up to 100 years 😅
Tell me, are there any facts about the life of Hachiko and Professor Ueno? How did they live before the tragedy? What was their relationship like?
Why did people leave him like that? Why did no one take him in?
Wdym? hachiko isnt a stray

Hachiko was cared for by a man named Kobayashi, who tended the garden at Professor Ueno's house.
Hachiko commuted from his house to the station.
