this is a different type of video from all the rest of the one's i've shared. this is the start of a series i'm calling "creative catch-up." it will feature me, sharing a window into my process as an artist, making things from poems to digital art to canvas collages. please be sure to go give @carlfredrikemrik a follow as well! he has inspired me so much these past few weeks and i owe a big hug of thanks to him. keep it up, Carl!

I had so many thoughts listening to all of it. I resonate a lot on the fact that making something no matter the reception but yes it’s such a slap in the face when you keep trying and the results are not the same. And there is no feedback and just your on brain trying to figure it out. And it’s humane to want attention at the same time you want just to oil your creative gears. Bottom line is, I feel you, A LOT. And I might be where you were last year right now and trying to do something not to be there. It’s hard but in famous words “you are on your own kid, but will face it, and make it”
Aww Doxy I feel you. I am sad to hear you are in a similar place.. I hope you can feel the hope of a brighter future full of creatively fulfilling endeavors! The darkness doesn't last forever, so make the most of the downtime you have..
I can't wait to see what you will make when you return! you are such an inspiration to me.

I don’t know if “space of possibility” was something you came up with intentionally, but I think it’s dope and I love it
27:34 this is kind of the headspace I was in when I started my TH-cam channel. Liked my creative gears just started moving again. I was working through the artist's way in my first few videos actually. I actually just got myself set up with a decent studio space in my little apartment. I'm older and recently separated. I'm so excited about my new creative space!!!
External validation is addicting, I definitely relate to that. Like, “please! my audience is out there, I just need to find them!”
exactly! it's also worth noting that it can be very exhausting to show your work to an audience who doesn't appreciate it... but finding one that does, no matter the size, is so validating

Kaylee! After watching this I'm convinced that we're the same person lol. Everything you said was eerily spot-on to my current state as a creative person and to where I am on my creative journey.
It looks like it's been two weeks since you posted this but I'm really hoping you're still planning to make a series out of them! I'm considering following your lead and making some videos like this too.
