    When I go back to Kamakura the #1 place I want to visit again is Hokokuji Temple. It may be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

      Yes Hokokuji temple is very beautiful. I’d like to visit again to pay attention to details in the garden. 👍

    Hey Kenchan, I just got back from my first trip to Japan and your videos helped me a lot. The focus of my trip was hiking, so your channel gave me so great places to visit. I think aside from the hikes themselves, the most exhausting part was every hiker greets you on the trail. I did one 6 hour hike up in a Nagano, I probably said hello to 200 people 🤣.

      Thank you for watching! Haha, I laughed reading your comment on the bus (to Nagano actually). It's interesting how Japanese people are so quiet in the city but become communicative on the mountain.:) In the mountain, I think it has meaning of monitoring others' safety and also for in case someone get missing. (to tell the police: I saw a guy in yello jacket goind down the mountian... ) When I saw some visitors obviously from abroad, I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to say konnnichiwa or hello in English, or better not to say. :)

    Kenchan! あなたのビデオをたくさん見ています!The videos are so very helpful. This one may be my favorite so far because I have not seen many hiking videos about Japan on TH-cam. Maybe there are more, but your video is perfect for my trip to Japan that I am planning for. 2025年にお会いしましょう!🎉⛰️🇯🇵

    7:26 Some interesting bird sounds in this forest Kengo san!
    I remember I asked for your recommendations on bushwalks back during your Q and A video, and this is exactly what I was hoping for!
    Thanks so much for putting this video together, I’m going to watch it a few times so I can really absorb it all 🙏☺️

      Hello Chris san! Yes, this is finally the video answering your request. :) I learned the new word "bushwalking" when you asked a question a while ago. There are tons of other places for bush walking, but I think these are good options. And yes, I heard different kinds of birds all the time. 😄

    Fair point at 3:10, I went to Mt. Takao and everyone was in full hiking gear. I felt like a clown wearing tight jeans and casual shoes. Although it was very easy to hike even in that.

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, yes. Sometimes I'm so prepared and finally arrive the peak and I get shocked to see someone casually arriving the peak looks like going to grocery shopping. I think Mt.Takao is a place you can visit with jeans and regular shoes depends on the routes.

      @@tokyokenchan yes it's very much doable in any clothing. I have taken trail 6, 4 and 1. Hiked Mt. Kintoki today, definitely would suggest proper shoes for that, especially on the descent via Nagao and Otome pass. I'm glad I wore proper shoes.

    Great video Kenchan! It makes me really miss Japan, I loved Mt Takao so much and kita-kamakura of course reminded me of my time in Kamakura itself. Hope to see more awesome content like this in future :)

      Hello Ryuga san, thank you for watching this video too. I'm glad to hear you liked Mt.Takao and Kamakura! This video was a little bit like a vlog at the end but I'm glad you liked this contents. I might have to narrow down my video contents a little more. :)

    This is a great video Ken-san. The variety of your channel's trip recommendations is growing and I hope there will be more nature/outdoors contents. As always, Kamakura is a pleasant area. I hope more people would visit. I was just there today and the weather was soooo nice!

      Thank you! Sorry for my late response. I hope you are having a good time in Japan. Great weather! I didn't expect you like the nature contents. I'm glad to know you liked it. :) Yes, only Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and Great Buddha is very busy, so I hope travelers can explore a little more different areas in Kamakura.

    The bamboo pass in this vidéo seems amazing. I wonder if some trails exist passing into more bambuu's forests.
    I will do the nakaechi route for the kumano kodo in february, my first hike in a multiple days format. I hope i will make it on time : ) .
    Also i'm curious to know if your dog do some hiking with you and also how difficult it is to have an animal with you, in japan . I went only once in Japan in my life but i Saw some signs who Said that animal where forbiden, stuff Luke that

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and sorry for my late response. The bamboo forest was in the Jochiji temple (200 yen) and some along the trail. That's amazing you are walking Kumano Kodo. I heard it's very beautiful. As for the dog trip, I'm planning one now but I find it pretty difficult. Some hotels allows dogs, but too much rules for me to enjoy the travel. So I will probably end up at the cottage that allows dogs and a hotel just for dog owners. This shrine in Kamakura had a sign "Please visit with your dog. They are important family. " but some major temples, shrins have sings "no dog". I 'd like to make a video about dog travel once in a while. Thank you again and I hope you enjoy the Wakayam tirp in February!

      @@tokyokenchan I'm more of a cat person but i hope you can do a video about your dogs because you seem really passionnate about it. I saw a lot of japanese dogs with clothing, some dogs wasn't really happy with it and these ones couldn't really walk right because of it. Didn't understand why they have to wrap their dogs like that even if the dogs looked unconfortable with these clothes but i can't generalize about it
      Thanks for the answer and don't worry for the late answer, i truly appreciate it. I'm really looking to my next trip in japan!

    You chose some beautiful places to hike and create a video. Thank you for the YAMAP app suggestion. It looks like it would be very helpful. I hope to come back to Japan and take at least one hike while there. On our trip, we did a tremendous amount of walking, but we did enjoy it--especially walking in Arashiyama, through the bamboo forest park trails. Mt. Takao and Kamakura are just breathtaking.

      Hi. There are not in the area covered in snow all the time, so unless it snowed ealirer on the day you visit, all of these place should be good for winter hikes. Thank you for watching.
