Thank you so much for the tips! I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed because the school year is about to start and I don’t have my ELAR/SS or ESL or STR. I’m studying for content right now and ESL. Hoping to take both before the end of the month and pass 😅
I just took my 4-8 ELAR/SS and used 240tutoring as well. I passed the exam on the first try. I took it 2 days ago and just got my results. I am going to use them for my STR as well.

@@forver16 I actually missed more SS questions than ELAR. But I spent a lot more time studying ELAR. I would say make sure to go over everything as many times as you can before your exam. Also check the competencies listed on the tx.nesinc site. I agree with what she said about wondering the entire time if I passed it while taking the exam. I found some great sources on here for the ELAR part but not really for SS.
Hi, I’m new here and about to enroll in TT. I like how positive you are and you make things seem easy which encourages me to do this! Lol did you follow the study plan on the 240 tutoring? Did you take notes as you read or just read through the modules and take the quizzes? Also, were you happy with the support TT gave you? I heard they’re poor in communication with students. Hey !! Thank you 🤗 From what I can recall, lol, I followed pretty much through the 240 tutoring and the quizzes. For TT I just read and took quizzes. Didn’t take notes on that. When I was enrolled TT service was smooth. Recently, I have heard otherwise. That they are not good with answering the phone. Hope that helps you!! God bless 🩷
No, to be honest I’m not sure if I have 12 credits of math. I believe the transcripts are simply to verify you have a bachelors degree. After that, you are qualified (through the alternative Teacher Preparation program - Teachers of Tomorrow) to take mostly any content exam.

"The state of Texas requires you to have at least 12 hours within a certification area Tesax Teachers offers to be eligible for admission. To fulfill this requirement, Texas Teachers suggest sending official transcripts from all institutions attended. " This concerned me because I know I do not have 12 hrs in math, which is the area I'm interested in.

Does the 240 tutoring website have videos to explain concepts and lessons?
Most of the lessons are not in video format. They may have a video here and there explaining a specific concept. But for the most part it is written.

Did you have to go to Texas to take your tests? We’re moving there soon but want to get my tests out of the way first
No. I was able to take them in Washington (where I was living at the time).

I took them in Washington state, through Pearson

how comparable is the 240Tutoring study guide exam to the actual exam?
Hm, depends on the exam. For the STR it was pretty on point. For the others it prepared me but not all the info needed or learned was on the exam.
it’s good; i’m using it now. I was low on competency 2, 5, 8, and 9; wish I could study on 240 tutoring by competency
