McGyver was good... I must admit I was wondering after your first video how you were going to approach the design, and it’s pretty cool... remote control panel mover👍 I noticed that eco worthy have a system back on their website... 600 odd euro I think it was😳
@@hedfuka8608 yes the ecoworthy mast looks very good, we looked into getting one a while back and were told that they won't ship to Ireland. Pity really, it seems like an easy build and a good price for what it is.
That’s really clever well done! are you going to time the panels to move with the sun? I’ve got solar PV on an east west split and thermal on a south roof, works well tho I didn’t make them myself.
@@ourkilkennyhomestead2006 ah that’s good, will be interesting to hear how much extra energy you produce now they rotate. Yes was lucky to get mine installed around 12 years ago so I got a grant for a good part of the thermal and a good rate on the feed in tariff for the PV. They work really well except in mid winter(I’m in the north of Scotland lol) when the sun only rises above the hills for about 3-4 hrs here.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "inrush current" thanks? Main Relays are good for 30amps fused at 20amps, remote relay (trigger) is good for 8amps fused at 5amps.
@@ourkilkennyhomestead2006 ask google instead of me.. also.. depeding on the trigger.. to hold a relay with higher current passthrough, it creates a stronger EMF that can destroy the receiver when the field collapses...
What dedication! Yep it certainly does inspire 😊👍 Thank you.
Fantastic! Glad you enjoyed it.
That’s brilliant... even McGyver would be impressed ! And you didn’t even have to blow anything up.
Thanks very much, if only we could get mcgyver back on the TV again.

May I ask do you have a background in electronics or self taught..?

Simple and .... Working! Very good
Thanking you sir!

Cheers, probably will set up daylight tracking of some sort in the future. Hope your solar system is doing the business for you.

well, that wont hold so long as the inrush current will destroy the relays.

These relays last year's in automotive use without dc inrush doing any damage, theyll do just fine in this setup.
