    So happy with my G35! Mine is in as great of a condition as the one you presented and it's a dream to drive. So glad I went against the 350z although they're basically the same car, I just find the G35 to be more aesthetically appealing than it's counterpart. Great review!

    here in canada u can get a used g35 with 100.000km on it for about 9-10 grand. the motor in these cars is bulletproof and is used in a bunch of nissans vehicles. The biggest problem I have about the nissan vehicles is they wear and rattle over time, and replacing shocks and struts will be a must once u get into the high km range

  • @everycarSeattle

    The best $125 you will ever spend towards the purchase of a car is simply to get a buyer's inspection from a dealership that sells that brand. Whether Infiniti or otherwise, a proper inspection is the key to ensuring you get a nice car. 135000 is a lot of miles, even for an Infiniti, but I've seen dozens with 200,000+ that are still great cars.

    • @babloo1666

      KingOfGoldChains Head gasket blew leading to the oil running out (didn't see it coming as I got an oil change the day before) and the engine seizing. Got a re-built engine installed with a new radiator and it's been fine. Doing some work on the suspension right now. I didn't actually have a transmission issue, just needed a new throttle/pedal sensor. I'm looking forward to getting it into great shape to hit the track sometime. It seems my issues have come from poor maintenance by former owners, and that proper maintenance on these cars will eliminate possible problems.

    I'm 20 years old and I'm saving up to buy a black on tan G35 coupe. They're so cheap now. I looked at some used 3 series coupes as well but the Infiniti is everything you could want and more. It's super reliable. You get 3 series performance and Japanese reliability. All at an affordable price too. I found a couple in my area for around 8-10k

    Laser red, my personal favorite for this car. Always been my favorite car of all time, there's just nothing that could ever replace this car for me. finally saved enough for one and I totaled it a year later. • @xiTKxix

    How this handles corners is absolutely amazing. Just be cautious about the OEM radio that skips CDs. However just get yourself an iPod kit that feeds directly to the Bose speakers via the OEM radio for crisp music. The car is quite low and do expect a lot of rock chips (say infront from trucks and SUV on the highway). If you live in a cold climate cold startup sometimes an issue. I highly recommend this car: reliability, affordable price and overall fun. The engine is truly phenomenal.

    I'm actually about to pick up a 03 g35. It's black on black looks great sounds great road very well for 140k miles. The best thing about where I'm getting it from if say my motor or Trans breaks then it's 50$ to fix. Literally I will not pay over 50$ if it has something that affects the driving go out so that really helped me pick this car. Also the fact it's comfortable and reminds me of my old 2000 eclipse gt I bought that I absolutely was in love with. I had more than 15k in that car before I was in a accident and totaled it. This car made me feel like my old sports car did and I'm ready to get my hands on it tomorrow.

I was just wondering, how detailed is the report usually for the buyer's inspection from an Infiniti dealership? Will they let me know what will needs replacing/fixing now and later down the road? I know these inspections are usually done before vehicle purchase and was wondering if it is still worth doing so now? Thanks!

    I'm looking at a 2004 coupe with 100k miles with an asking price of $8000.. is that a good choice? or is 100k miles too much? I love your videos btw!

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +In VTEC We Trust 100k is nothing on a well serviced G35. $8000 is also nothing for a well serviced G35. The one thing: you have to get a buyer's inspection at the Infiniti dealer before you buy, not a Nissan dealer, not an independent shop, only an Infiniti dealer. If they say it's good and you paid 8 grand for only 100k, you just struck gold.

I like the 350Z but the insurance is murder on a 2 seater. The other 2 are ok, but if you can find a way to afford a G35, it's worth it.

    Didn't even touch on one of the best aspects of the G35s, which is the exhaust. Makes a great sound without being overbearing or sounding like a cheap motorcycle that so many modified exhausts sound like. Overall I love my G. It's getting up there in miles so it's getting expensive to upkeep. But highly recommend.

      What kind of repairs did you have with how many miles ? I’m thinking of getting one and hoping it won’t be a money pit or blow like I see a lot of other VQ owners experience .

      @dplunk13 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zacharyandrew2653 Mine's an 06 with close to 118,000 right now. Nothing major so far. I keep pretty vigilant on oil changes and regular maintenance. Had some break issues but after going for a more expensive repair instead of cheap ones they're fine. Squeak a bit but Infiniti looked at them and said they're ok. Had an oil leak recently but that seemed like a fluky thing and was about $200. Tires seem pretty good. I got all of them replaced at around 60,000 (had factory on at that time) for about $1000. Did the rear after I got a flat a few years ago for $500 (Michellin) but the front tires were still ok. Had a rear bulb go out recently that was close to $200 I think. One of the tire pressure sensors has been broke for a while and I didn't want to spend $200 on that. But I think that's everything. Overall I'm still pretty happy. Drive it every day to work, about 50 miles in total. It's not the most convenient for getting my kid in and out of it. But it's managable. Hope to keep driving it for a long time since I paid it off over 2 years ago. Not sure if my experience is typical but can't complain too much so far.

    Hey Joe- great video. I had a quesiton about the sedans. I have a 2003 6mt sedan, and it looks great other than the black rocker panels/molding around the car. Does Infiniti still sell the aero (nismo) kit, and if not, do you have any brand recommendations? Thanks!

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris DeProspo They don't sell it except for insurance replacement so it's expensive. Back then, there were 2 aero packages: the aero spoiler package which was $700 or so on the window sticker and the aerodynamic package which was closer to $2500 and gave you a different front bumper, body-color rocker panels and lower aero enhancements for the rear. It was a cool look but they never sold because of the price. I'd bet they could be found online.

    • @chrisdeprospo7363
      @chrisdeprospo7363 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the timely and comprehensive response, Joe. My car actually has the ironing board spoiler, but lacks the more expensive full aero kit. Just one more question: would it be feasable to paint the rocker panels in the silver color of my car?

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's super hard to do correctly and very expensive. Ichiro had us do it for his FX50 and it cost several thousand dollars to do the lower 2 inches all the way around. It seems crazy but that pebbled grain is impossible for a painter to work with and when they sand it down the paint doesn't hold.

    • @chrisdeprospo7363
      @chrisdeprospo7363 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's crazy to hear that- I had no idea! I love the way the car looks other than those rocker panels. I might just buy the aero (nismo) replica parts. Are there any must have mods you would recommend? I may go with Z springs and a camber kit at some point, too

    Probably the 2 best choices in the category for a variety of reasons. Both have a big advantage over the competition as far as cost of maintenance and ease of resale. The IS300 is snug for a sedan, but roomier than the G35 coupe. The G35 coupe is a more powerful, better handling, more exciting car. The G35 does not have a timing belt, it's chain driven, so no need to replace. If I was buying one today, all things being equal, I'd buy a G35 coupe.

    What's the average service bill? And how often does it need repairs with normal driving?

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Repairs cost about what you'd expect for a Japanese car. There is no timing belt so you get to avoid that. Compression rod bushings are a few hundred dollars and last about 50-100k. Brakes are about 400-500 a side with rotors and are good for about 30k for pads and 60k for rotors. Just switching pads is pretty cheap. Oil changes are normal and 30k services run between 300-1000 depending on where you go and how involved you want to get. The BOSE stereos eat cd's and need to be switched out and that can be almost $1000 so a lot of people convert to aftermarket. Tires tend to wear quickly in the rear if you drive fast. If I were to pull a number out of thin air I would say $1000 a year is a reasonable expectation to plan on investing.

      Had it for a year now, just the rear brakes need service now. And the rear axle click car is reliable and won't leave you stranded!

      500 a side??? Why is it so high?

      Slightlyevil $400-$500 for front or rear brakes with rotors isn't all that bad for a performance car using factory parts and installed at the dealer. You can always get a discount at an independent shop, but brakes are one thing I'll never go cheap on. On the flip side, some independent shops are actually BETTER than the dealer, not often, but often enough where it's worth your time to do some research.

      Oh ok, we usually do our own brakes. I wasn't sure if there was something special about these that maybe required someone/something special and required a higher bill? Totally understand what you're saying though.

      My best oil suggestion is Royal Purple...it's all I use in my 2005 G35 twin turbo. My car literally performs better since I made the change, it withstands sky-high heat and lasts much longer for me than my old standby - Mobil 1.

    I test drove a 04' coupe yesterday. It was a base model automatic. Visually it was beautiful. Red with 18 inch wheels and very fast looking. HAve you ever went on a date with a red hot looking chick and she had no passion no conversation. My friends that's the Japanese sports car. The G35 coups is well built but very boring. It just didn't drive the way it looks.

      +Jujag Themag Some people are surprised at ho much more they like the 2005 model compared to the 2004. Since I own a 2005 I'm a bit biased, but the subtle differences add up to a more complete car.
