Really excited for this - Giving me the same feeling I got when I first saw space engineers. Looking forward to playing around in the new engine and seeing what's in store for the future of the game
holy sh*t, there's actually a studio, that invested themselves to see how we play the game and improved for the players benefit!!! Keen's just best, love you
I love the modular blueprinting- as now I can have "my own particular passageway, my own thruster nacelle" etc. consistent through all my "builds" so others may regonize "oh, thats his ship" because its the only one with that style. Good use for the slice 1 implementation, stocking up my thruster modules, etc.
One of issues i had with the old build system is making compact designs without adding too much weight or too much mass then i planned to, making a stair case to the bridge while making it air tight is an example This new build system makes me so happy, not only combining small and large blocks, but creativity can be pushed further than before in vanilla! I can't wait for this game to come out ^^
After spending over 4500 hrs on SE1 and buying all the dlc’s, I went on and bought the game SE2 and bought the bundle pack, my good friend convinced me, he said, after making good friends in a game and giving you so many hours of fun are you going to buy the base game????? Nope, I support Marek and his team, GO SE2 go go go
I dont know why but seeing actuall gameplay is so surreal, especially being able to 25cm grid system at work. Amazing work. Also I would pre-order it but my pc cant run it so RIP
I LITERALLY cannot wait. This is my 2nd most anticipated game of 2025. Right after KCD 2. I've been here pretty much since the earliest version of the first SE game. Well, I watched it on youtube back then, my PC couldn't run the game, but once I could I loved every second of it.
I didn’t think this game could get any better. Space Engineers 2 is going to be the best game to play for the next century! The destruction fractures being unique per the block destroyed, adds a very needed aspect. This game is legendary! 🙏 #FromU.S.A
The good and bad part is that SE2 Probably won't be catching up to SE1's "completeness" for a long time so the first game will get continued support for a while yet. Have fun building your ships
You still have plenty of time to enjoy se 1, se2 will take some time to catch up. Se2 will be very similar to have se was at first. Pretty barebones with the most important features being developed first.
Couldn’t think of a better gift to ask for this Christmas than a sequel to my most played game of all time. Keep up the phenomenal work as always Keen 💪
I wish I can say that I am half as dedicated to this game as the community is, despite having it for a long time, but I’m one of those people who gets frustrated and calls it wuits far too quickly. A part of myself that I have come to regret, and yet this game with it’s community of builders, engineers, klang worshipers, modders, programmers, pilots, fighters and storytellers have got me motivated to try amd dedicate myself to spacesims once again. Here’s to another ten years of epic content and the stories that will come from it.
I hope there will be space exploration elements and stuff to discover on planets. Don't get me wrong: Space Engineers is great fun for the building/construction part. But it would be even more fun if the game provided some motivation to create different types of ships or designs such as science vessels that withstand different forces in space (e.g. radiation, gravitation) better than others or that can be fitted with sensors, data recording devices and so on instead of just the typical SE outfits that all ships need.
I haven't been overly excited for many games, but this one is peaking my interest. Part of me wants to get it day one, but another part of me knows to wait a bit till it catches up with space engineers 1, depending on where it's currently at.
i wouldn't get your hopes up, seeing this video they already have similar lag issues that SE1 has... it's practically a copy paste of the original game...
@@jasperpluk I mean considering Marek literally said "This is a complete reimagining what was our founding vision for SE1" I'd say that's accurate, and also, not a problem. The limitations the current game has makes anything else "revolutionary" essentially unfeasible. Absolutely get your hopes up, this is going to be endless fun. Can't wait to see what's on the horizon.
It would be nice to see another stream where they can take there time to go through and answer questions. The seem to be rushing to keep to a certain timeframe clearly Marek had a list of things he wanted to get shown in that time.
I feel like the rending is lightyears better. Also I was noticing the normal maps on the edges even of the smallest blocks, it makes it look so much more realistic than having computer-like hard edges. The tech team is doing wonders.
So glad there's an integrated color replacer or one like this into vanilla. Not that the mod wasn't okay but it's great to see what I can assume a lot of us wanted
For sure a very welcome feature to have in game. It's just one less mod that we have to worry about or that may cause compatibility issues when updates release.
Space engineers is so fascinating, it just feels great to play even though it's little more than a physics sandbox and they really nailed the feeling of weight and dimensions
Space engineers came out first so if anything scrap mechanic is copying SE. Scrap mechanic doesn't even compare to this. They only have 1 size block without variations. Also the physics are shit in scrap mechanic.
Can we expect more info on a couple of things in SE2. I for one would like to know what your plans are for modding, since youre apparently not going to use the steam workshop. Which I would also like to know more about.
The versatility of the build system is awesome! I love the new safe and max speeds. The visuals are very nice as well. Hopefully this one won't take more than ten years to complete.
one element of SE-1 is the variable chase cam distance when operating a mobile grid. some angles result in the camera being in so close that you cannot easily see what is around you. I have long wanted the chase camera view to maintain a set distance no matter what direction or angle you are facing or pointing.
Love the paint gun very cool. Can't wait to play next month. BUT. Are we going to have ladders and more importantly will we finally get Custom Folders for the control menu?
Yeah I hope there will be more space events and things, such as gas giants, real meteorites(moving voxels), black holes, real stars, and Im also excited for aerodynamics, and waterlandings, and reentry
I still play this game heavily despite owning Star Citizen and other games. This is the game I keep coming back to. As for that hand held yellow beam gun. That belongs on a large capital ship.
The thing I'm most looking forward to. In public servers, my go to first move is to build big drills and attach them to a small ship. A ship that fits comfortably in the footprint of the drills so I can burrow endlessly into stone. But 5 drills make an unusual shape. Plus they're heavy and relying on small grids to shift it is taxing. I can't wait to see what can be done with cross grid builds.
As a fellow game dev I want to really give a shout to the team at keen, the ambiance of the new game is just amazing and that is something that can be extremely difficult to pull off. Everything looks and sounds so satisfying, i honestly can't wait to play this. The most mind blowing part is that this all just alpha and the performance looks to be excellent while maintaining good visual fidelity. Overall just a great job❤
As a christmas present, I have preordered this game, it now sits in my Steam library, waiting for it's fate on the 27th .... I mean that in a good way lol
I don't mean to diminish it, but is it just the unified grid and graphic update that is being called a full sequel, or will there be more announced later?
Generally, in game dev there is a new product when the underlying engine is also new. And the Vrage3 engine is different enough they felt that was the case. It will likely be purchased mainly by SE diehards anyway so Marek could have just billed it an update. We all still would have bought it. But it’s a largely new code base.
Oh. This was from the live stream not long ago. Would love to see how Survival is when it comes out. I will most likely buy it around that time if I have money.

Cannot wait, had SE since alpha
It's been a long road getting from there to here. Glad to have been there since the beginning.
Selective colour replacing is a feature I never thought to ask for but will be extremely thankful for when decorating a build.
Really excited for this - Giving me the same feeling I got when I first saw space engineers. Looking forward to playing around in the new engine and seeing what's in store for the future of the game
SE 2 will be my most detrimental addiction to date.
holy sh*t, there's actually a studio, that invested themselves to see how we play the game and improved for the players benefit!!!
One of issues i had with the old build system is making compact designs without adding too much weight or too much mass then i planned to, making a stair case to the bridge while making it air tight is an example
This new build system makes me so happy, not only combining small and large blocks, but creativity can be pushed further than before in vanilla!
Nope, I support Marek and his team, GO SE2 go go go
Looking forward to playing this. Space Games are my jam!
I am completely blown away. This is going to open up so many possibilities for creation, and I absolutely cannot wait to play this!
SE is the greatest sandbox game I ever seen! Love it ❤ SE2 is what I am waiting for like a kid for new year :)
I dont know why but seeing actuall gameplay is so surreal, especially being able to 25cm grid system at work. Amazing work. Also I would pre-order it but my pc cant run it so RIP
It's better to wait anyways. If you buy it now you wont be able to return it.
I LITERALLY cannot wait. This is my 2nd most anticipated game of 2025. Right after KCD 2.
I've been here pretty much since the earliest version of the first SE game. Well, I watched it on youtube back then, my PC couldn't run the game, but once I could I loved every second of it.
08:34 I absolutely LOVE the jetpack leg physics!
The sounds and the visuals are so incredibly satisfying omg
I didn’t think this game could get any better. Space Engineers 2 is going to be the best game to play for the next century! The destruction fractures being unique per the block destroyed, adds a very needed aspect. This game is legendary! 🙏 #FromU.S.A
That Gyro block is AMAZING !
It's everything I wanted in a Gyro block to get added to SE1.
Had to wait but eventually its coming
AND, it opens the door for even chunkier Gyro blocks :P
Preordered it right away when i saw it on TH-cam, without thinking. Pioneer Edition!!
This sends me back to the beginnings of SE ❤️
It just looks so crisp. Great work! Looking forward to trying this out next month!
I bought the first game, played for about 12 hours and then the sequel got announced a few days later.
Do I regret it? No.
The good and bad part is that SE2 Probably won't be catching up to SE1's "completeness" for a long time so the first game will get continued support for a while yet.
Have fun building your ships
at least that money's goin to the devs
You still have plenty of time to enjoy se 1, se2 will take some time to catch up. Se2 will be very similar to have se was at first. Pretty barebones with the most important features being developed first.
This looks amazingly off to a great start. I can't wait until the full release.
Exquisite changes. Keep up the good work, I look forward to making a nice home in this world.
My main question is if planets are there yet or if that will be later.
@@huntergman8338They released the planets after some updates
i wouldn't get your hopes up, seeing this video they already have similar lag issues that SE1 has... it's practically a copy paste of the original game...
@@jameshersheymusic it will have actual npcs and fights and all that , so yeah
It would be nice to see another stream where they can take there time to go through and answer questions. The seem to be rushing to keep to a certain timeframe clearly Marek had a list of things he wanted to get shown in that time.
That's so cool, guys! I can't wait to sink another 1,000 hours into this game, too!
Absolutely insane. Excellent work!
Space engineers is so fascinating, it just feels great to play even though it's little more than a physics sandbox and they really nailed the feeling of weight and dimensions
I've noticed that the Scrap Mechanic building style is spreading pretty rapidly for how versatile it is
Space engineers came out first so if anything scrap mechanic is copying SE. Scrap mechanic doesn't even compare to this. They only have 1 size block without variations. Also the physics are shit in scrap mechanic.
Scrap Mechanic came out after Space Engineers did by a considerable amount of years.
This sentence doesn't even make sense
I can't tell if people are misunderstanding the intention behind your comment, or if you're just new to this game series
This really Shows great improvements and i am looking forward to playing this when it comes out 🎉
i can not express how happy i am about the color replace feature!
Love the sounds at the end of the video.
The engine looks amazing. I hope you're also putting the same focus on gameplay improvements.
This is fantastic! I can’t wait for this to follow along with this development.
Especially excited for the campaign and the living world!
I love the grid now. I also can’t wait for the new water. I CANNOT wait for SE2!!
Can’t wait to hop in and start creating! Been playing since 2014
I was like, a child when space engineers came out. Been playing it ever since then.
Thank you for this game, Mr. Rosa.
I think the cable should have a feature later on in dev that lets you "tether" to a ship, for this survival saves
You guys are putting in the work. Can't wait for survival. (already preordered)
one element of SE-1 is the variable chase cam distance when operating a mobile grid.
some angles result in the camera being in so close that you cannot easily see what is around you.
I have long wanted the chase camera view to maintain a set distance no matter what direction or angle you are facing or pointing.
This is looking really good, guys. I am happy to support you early.
I would be overjoyed if you manage to let us paint different colors and materials for each individual face of a block.
Thanks for the gameplay. It looks great.
Goodbye Clang! You will not be missed! Super excited for the new none-grid system!
I still play this game heavily despite owning Star Citizen and other games. This is the game I keep coming back to. As for that hand held yellow beam gun. That belongs on a large capital ship.
this game looks so good it is already finished
Is there a chance that medival engineers will get updated with this engine once you got the water right? This looks wonderful!
Nice rocks, and im gonna have so much fun building
18:00 SE1 has character shadows too which you can see from a few hundred metres away if you test it with someone else
Looks grate. I look forward to playing SE2 and can't wait to see the detailed builds with the new unified grid system.
It looks amazing, take my money Keen! Honestly seeing this SE1 just looks like one big demo now haha.
Do well-placed thrusters also contribute to rotation, or only the gyros as the first SE?
SE2's almost here x3 ♥
This looks WAY better than the trailer suggests. Ya'll should make a new trailer.
