Thanks a lot. I would like to use a single composite variable of a 4 items likert-scale variables, to make corrolation in regression. i would like to know if i should use the MEAN or SUM of the all the indicators i put together to form one composite variable for my corrolation and regression analysis. your reply will help a lot.
video is useful. However, I am dealing with bit different situation. I have an expression i.e.AMA= (MUAC - tsf*0.1*3.1416)**2/4*3.1416 and I am not getting the correct result on spss compute variables. I have use the different modification of the same expression on spss. So, I just want to ask you the proper way of using brackets in such kind of expression?
You probably found the answer already, but for anyone else wondering - SPSS does not generally accept spaces and '-' signs to the variable name. So instead of using space, use _
