- It didn't take long for this years first Polar Night snow storm to hit Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The winds it brought with it were crazy! Sit out the first snow storm with us in our cosy cabin, and let's go outside and see how bad it really is! 🤩

Totally. The first time I saw her, I thought to myself "nobody can be this chirpy all the time" but over time, I got hooked and understood that she is genuinely like this. It's actually quite infectious 😊

I think he was trying to remember what was under there and what could have moved in the storm wind. Typical though the man gets sent out to investigate, i mean it could have been a polar bear seeking refuge..

I love that type of weather. Nothing better than it being cold and nasty outside but you're all warm and cozy inside. Comfy pajamas and slippers, a fire going, a cup of coffee, a fuzzy fur baby, and maybe the aroma of some soup or stew cooking on the stove. Heaven.

That fire during the storm was AHmazing!! I LOVE when the flames die down and the remnant of the wood is just glowing, flowing and making beautiful fire pictures!! Best part of the fire!!!

This day last year, we had a storm where our entire season's worth of snow fell in 24hrs...this year it was +11C today. Looks like winter decided to come to you first! Haha, I watched your video when I first woke up while still in bed. I was SO disoriented when I then got up and came out to find bright sunshine and warm temps here in the Nevada desert, USA. Good job Christoffer getting all those apples! That was a great price! And if he has just as good a way of preserving the strawberries as he does the apples, then I agree, he didn’t get enough. I’d love to see what he does with them all.
At first I was worried that Christoffer would encounter a polar bear under your cabin when you said you heard a noise. He went out investigating without the shotgun. I laughed when you showed Grim’s 🦷 and said “ let’s put that back now” 🤣🤣
Cecilia I have a book suggestion for you. The author is Robyn Mundy and the book is called Cold Coast set in Svalbard and is about the first female trapper in Svalbard and her story of life there in 1932. Sounds like an interesting read. Christopher had me in stitches laughing when he was outside in the snowstorm walking around😂

I absolutely loved Christopher´s face in 1:50 when you told him he needs to go and check the house because there was a strange sound, this expression is so universal for all men across the world when something happens and they quicky brainstorm the list of possible problems! Somehow, I stumbled upon your channel earlier this week, and I cannot get enough of it. My husband watched the cabin tour with me -- and now he's into your content, too We love, love, love your cabin! And your views! Also the life you and Christoffer have created together, and the insights you let us all have into it. And of course, love your beautiful, sweet, and a little crazy, Grim. We have plans to spend a month in Sweden, Denmark and Norway (including up in Tromso, Hammerfest and Honningsvag) next winter during Polar Nights, so this gets us ready... One day, hope to also get to Svalbard. We live in the US, BTW, - in the hot, humid, tropical climate of South Florida (about an hour north of Miami).
I live in Hawaii, so I’m loving the immersion into this cozy world. Love your dog! I’m so glad he’s warm and toasty.

Snow storms, ice storms, fireplace roaring, a good book to read sitting with my blankets and pillows is amazing ! My dogs loved the fireplace, sleeping in front of it at night !
There is nothing that beats the warmth and ambience of a wood fire. There is something soothing and comforting about it that no other heat source replicates. You guys look so cozy and comfy in your home. However, in my mind that is the attraction of living in a very cold place. Having a warm, cozy home to find refuge in from the harsh and bitter elements outside 🥶
There are so many good white noise sounds from the storm and the fire! I would absolutely love to fall asleep to the sounds of Svalbard. 💤✨💙
