    I went to a chiropractor once and on the initial visit the assistant ran some gadget softly down my bare back that took readings of the tension in my back, I’m guessing it was something similar to this thing, but it was the nicest feeling ever, I still remember even though it was about 15 years ago. She just did one quick pass though, I wish it was for a longer time like in this video.

    "HUGE SWING!"

    • @Hazylittlething

      “Huge swing” means the nervoscope is going off. It’s “arms” or “detectors” when applied at a 90 degree angle in relation to the back, with even pressure on both arms, the nervoscope can detect heat/ temp changes down the spine. These temp changes or “swings” as she calls them, signal that there’s tension/inflammation/ pressure on nerves. So it’s a way of mapping where your pain/inflammation is.
      Hope this helps 💜

      this is more meant for the people in the replies, but the swings mean absolutely nothing. the nervoscope/neurocalometer is a thermometer, that's it. it is said to locate vertebral subluxations (i.e., misaligned vertebrae which disrupt nerves, acc. to chiro literature) by detecting inflamed areas along the spine, which chiropractors will use as a guide for their adjustments.
      every aspect of it has very shaky scientific foundations; first off, "subluxations" are normal, and everyone's spine has them. if your spine has a deformity which is resulting in decreased nerve function, such as a herniated disc, you will require highly precise imaging and possible surgical intervention for the problem to be solved. manual adjustments by a chiropractor are incredibly dangerous in cases like this (and can even result in these problems). additionally, inflammation is by no means any indicator for spinal alignment. inflamed areas consume energy and produce higher levels of metabolic waste, so the immune system has limits in place to avoid overactivity in areas which dont require it, unless you have a more serious underlying health concern (which requires someone far more knowledgeable than a chiro).

      @@ecronidk667 we have tons of evidence to know that immunization CPR and the like work and those pictures are invented by doctors with medical degrees and have spent years studying this stuff. There are actual medical procedural steps that are taken when you give somebody immunization or CPR there are no procedural steps taken by chiropractors and it's just up to whatever chiropractor wants to f****** do to you that's why every single chiropractor video on the internet has a different method of going about doing things. It also doesn't help that when it comes to treating different patients all the methods are exactly the same because it's literally just cracking your bones and then kicking you out. It scares me that you think that CPR and immunization which require tons of study and practice to get correct and are made by professionals who have the necessary skills and the necessary information to back up their credibility and you're going to say but those things are close enough to chiropractors? it doesn't help when you literally say I don't know about the evidence and then you go ahead and restate something anyways after already admitting that you don't have the necessary evidence and then the thing that you do claim requires you to actually have knowledge of the evidence so you made a claim without the necessary information and you even admitted that you didn't have that necessary information that's f****** stupid that's f****** stupid.

    • @niko12805
      @niko12805 ปีที่แล้ว +153

      It's a Nervoscope.
      The instrument shows where pressure is present and whether it has been completely or partially eliminated as a result of a chiropractic adjustment of the causative vertebra. When a vertebra is subluxated, it causes pressure on the surrounding tissues of a nerve or a bundle of nerves and this causes resistance to flow of nerve energy. This resistance in turn causes heat at that point, as heat is produced when resistance is added in a circuit carrying electricity. Neurocalometer is so sensitive and so constructed with thermocouple detectors and galvanometer that it registers heat and records it as so many points, or units, on the dial. It makes comparative heat readings of the spinal area.
      But it's kind of controversial. Some people say it does work and others say it's just a waste of money.

    Chiropratic is a quackery

    • @kenny995
      @kenny995 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It isn't, and it's endorsed and recommended by traditional doctors. Many doctors clinics also hire or refer out to chiropractors. It has its place and benefits. It isn't meant to be a fix, but for temporary relief while you work on physical therapy and what not

    • @sparra3819
      @sparra3819 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It's not really. I have alignment issues from a loose hip joint, causes off level pelvis > swayed spine > crooked knee > fallen arch... none of which you would see to look at me. I do my own chiropractery on a mat on the floor, using the floor to force and push joints to realign things, but, yes, all temporary relief, until the next day's end.

    • @LOstiDVegan
      @LOstiDVegan 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kenny995In the context of chiropractic care, several fallacious arguments are present in the provided comment. Let’s dissect them:
      - Appeal to Authority: The statement claims that chiropractic care is “endorsed and recommended by traditional doctors.” While some medical professionals may indeed support chiropractic practices, it’s essential to recognize that endorsements alone do not validate the efficacy or safety of a treatment. Scientific evidence and rigorous research are crucial for assessing any medical intervention.
      - Bandwagon Fallacy: The mention that “many doctors clinics also hire or refer out to chiropractors” implies that because others do it, it must be valid. However, the popularity or widespread adoption of a practice does not necessarily make it scientifically sound or effective.
      - False Dichotomy: The comment suggests that chiropractic care has a specific role: “It isn’t meant to be a fix, but for temporary relief while you work on physical therapy.” This oversimplification presents a false choice between chiropractic care and other treatments. In reality, healthcare is often multifaceted, and different modalities can complement each other.
      - Anecdotal Evidence: The phrase “it has its place and benefits” relies on personal anecdotes or individual experiences. While anecdotes can be compelling, they do not constitute robust evidence. Scientific studies are necessary to evaluate the overall effectiveness and safety of chiropractic interventions.
      Git gut !

      @@sparra3819
      In this comment, several fallacious arguments are present. Let’s dissect them again :
      - False Dichotomy: The phrase “It’s not really” suggests a binary choice: either chiropractic care is effective, or it isn’t. However, healthcare is rarely so black and white. There exists a spectrum of possibilities, and the validity of a medical practice cannot be reduced to a simple either-or scenario.
      - Anecdotal Evidence: The user shares their personal experience, claiming to perform their own “chiropractery” on a mat using the floor. While anecdotes can be compelling, they do not constitute robust scientific evidence. Objective research is necessary to evaluate the overall effectiveness of chiropractic interventions.
      - Hidden Complexity: The comment describes a chain of alignment issues (hip joint, pelvis, spine, knee, arch) that are not externally visible. While it’s true that some health conditions may not be immediately apparent, this does not automatically validate a specific treatment approach. The complexity of underlying issues requires thorough examination and evidence-based solutions.
      Stop bullshit.

      Yes, supposedly the two metal prongs measure the temperature on the two sides of the spine, and then the nervoscope reads out the difference between the two. A significant difference implies there’s something affecting the nerves that needs to be worked out. If they’re properly-scientifically-backed instruments is another question, but this is a roleplay, so at least it adds to the tingles!
