You inspired me to dive into Libreboot and start buying second hand parts for my build. Thanks! Keep progressing with your videos, I see a lot of potential ❤
Nice job! I didnt understand what the model of mobo, but as I remember libreboot compatibility list - its some Asus. You can search for ES Opterons that are overlockable using multiplier. I've used some Supermicro board with modified bios that can FSB overclock any Opterons, but it was not Libreboot compatible. P.S. May be you can help others, who want to build something similar by placing HW list of your WS in the video description.
I heard of this card but unfortunately for the kgpe-d16 running libreboot cannot have 2 gpus connected to it otherwise the computer will not boot. the k6000 still seems to be the best when it comes to having one gpu.
@@SecondR-Freedom I see, so there is probably no proprietary driver for nvidias optimus stuff. Hopefully one day the noveau driver will make it possible.
@@SecondR-Freedom let me know when you upload it, Also if you can see if you can get a wi-fi card running on Trisquel. Once you install it on the T420, I will do my 420 and t520. And i have 20 or so wi-fi cards. They won't work on the lenovo bios
Been slowly building my own kgpe-d16 system for libreboot. Any chance you could test lrdimm support? Libreboot says it should work nowadays but its untested. Could theoretically allow for 384-512gb of ram on the board.
I did notice that libreboot now says it could support LRDIMM, Unfortunetly I don't have any on hand right now but I'll keep this in mind and possibly test that someday. Probably best to stick with the RDIMM stick for now.

Good idea, I just updated the description to have the specs of the workstation. Thanks!
absolutely classic, and classy
God like
If you have enough pcie lanes to run 2 gpus, you could just add a Nvidia tesla M10.
