For the trees spawning on the mountain top you can actually set a max height for the foliage in the individual files. You need to then figure out what the max and min height you want is by placing a cude or empty actor in the scene, and then put them on the min and max height you want. Now input those Z-Values to the min and max height, and you will not have those foliage meshes spawn above or below anymore....
Yup, that's right. The reason I didn't mention that is because that would probably take a bit more time to set up, so working with the foliage volumes might be more convenient.

@@Native_Creationthere seems to be some major differences in the layout of Gaea 1.x and gaea2. You will def not be able to use Gaea2 for the first time and get something exported to Unreal just by following a Gaea 1 tutorial. I just learned that lol
Hey man. I followed your tutorial but have an issue at one point. At 22:55 of your video you say something about already having an island template but I dont have it and when I would like to import my project into a new UE5 scene the thing is not loading properly. Could you please let me know where to get the UE5 island template from, please?
It's not a template build into Unreal, it's my pack that I'm promoting here. If you are interested, you can take a look here: www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/ucreate-tropical-islands-jungle-forest
You could just follow the steps in the tutorial. Make sure that you enable the Water and Impostor Baker plugins. If you want to apply the landscape material to your own map instead of using the one that comes with the pack, then simply apply "MI_Island_01" material in the "Materials" - > "Landscape" folder to your own landscape. If you are confused I would reccommend to just watch some basic lanscape tutorials, as well as how to set up an Ocean system. In short, go to Window -> Place Actors, search for "Water" and drag & drop "Water Body Ocean" to your scene. But again, the simplest solution would be to follow my steps from the tut.
Hello, Michal, great tutorial all around. Thank you! However whenever I import the file, it is only a texture in unreal engine. It seems I'm missing a step.
The texture .png files are the heightmap and splat maps, which you can use to create the same Island as you can see in the tut. The .tor files are Gaea projects that you can open up in Gaea and modify to your liking. If you want to use the heightmap, then rewatch from 24:41 so that you can see how to import it. Thanks and cheers!
I don’t even know how to show a terrain how am I suppose to follow along if I’m just a random person that downloaded gaea 2.0 and want to start learning.
The tutorial was made a few months ago before the release of Gaea 2.0. You could download the older version [I was using 1.3] if you want to follow the tut.
The forest is a bit heavy on performance, I would recommend a GPU in the range of RTX30x series. You can take a look at the playable demo and see for yourself - the link is in the description.
@@YoungVeteran2023 After purchasing the pack on the Marketplace you simply fire up Epic Launcher, go to library, search for the pack and click "add content to a project". Done.
I wanna challenge you… Can you make a norway looking landscape with fjords and cliffs all around but still flat areas where people can live? Just Check for “Escape in the fjords” on google. Because your terrain is not natural at all. There isn’t a single flat space… thats not natural at all, or at least it feels to me like it isn’t. Maybe i challenge Gaea itself 😂😂

Okay, when I do blur everything turns black and it will not change
any chance of doing a version of the Gaea file to work with Gaea 2.0 please?
Sorry, I don't have the time for that currently.
@@chronicaberration same question, but do you know off the top of your head if there are any major differences?

Great job, i learn so much!!

dobry tutorial, GAEA 1.3 ?
Dzięki! Tak, 1.3
Will you make a map from call of duty modern warfare 4 it’s called (Crossfire) using all features of Unreal Engine 5.4 ?
Interesting idea but I'm working now on onother project. Who knows, maybe in the future?
@@chronicaberration I hope you don't forget what I said. Hopefully with in 2 or 3 months we will see if you are able to make that map
What can we do if we don't have your pack?
Buy it! ^^ There might be some free jungle assets on the marketplace, I would check that out first.
How can you make texture without duplicate
I'm using Gaea 2 and things just don't the same way. The mask also won't let me draw.
I was using Gaea 1.3 before the release of 2.0. I would have to make an updated tutorial for 2.0 but honestly I don't have the time for that.
Pc requirement please

it was all perfect, until started duplicate, copy, etc...
What exactly is a problematic part for you?
its not a full tutorial
It's not a fully detailed proposition of what would you like to see more of.
