This brings back some serious nostalgia. My library system no longer does information services at all, except by accident when we can't help it. My job has changed to pure programming and outreach, and there is not one person in the 280+ staff who does info. I used to love reference and information. I love what I do now, as well, but I miss what I used to do so much.
Great humor, joy, and idealism--reminds me of what I loved about library school (and about academic libraries too). It's been a rough nine years in the public library work world since then, but I still believe in libraries, and am glad to have this infusion of hope from you all.
Amazing! Very well done, you got so many of her moves down! Lyrics are really well meshed, too. On top of all that, and above it all...friggin' hilarious!!!!
As an alum of Emporia State University's SLIM program and a former GTA (1999-2000) I want to tell you all that you ROCKED IT!!! :) This is EXACTLY what you need to do to let everyone realize "Librarians are people too!" :) Hey Lisa Fusco, I think I worked with you on some projects for SLIM's cohort classes! Rock on and looking forward to more!!
Funny as hell! I really like how your change the lyrics and make it like a message to publics that the library can be as interesting as a amusement park! Thumbs up!
This is an awesome video. I'm glad we're not the only library programme that gets into this stuff. I love the shots of the antelopes. Suzanne Briet would be proud.
Forget the Doctor Who reference, how about the Captain Kirk and boolean search references! Awesomeness. My sister is just about to start her master's degree program with this fun bunch. Her mentor Rachel is in the video. What an introduction to her University of Washington experience. I'm jealous! Way to go everyone.
LOVE THIS! Inspired and awesome! Librarians rock hard. I work for a library and we were so impressed with this that we made our own music video about budget cuts. What fun!
Thoroughly enjoyable. Loved the transformation of the trad. librarian image as shown here. Few are aware of the internal radical behind the prim veneer of these info smarties.
Oh, this is great...I can see a Drill Team routine coming our of this, too. Nice cameo by Nancy Pearl! Good to see you, Mike! Neville1001, your librarians ARE this cool, they just haven't made a video of that side of them yet!
I read the beginning "Librarians from the future present", as librarians from the "future-present", a time period occupied only by time travelers. It explains everything.
Is it Laura Mielenhauser doing the chorus? What beautiful singing voice and vibrato you've got. I've listened to this i guess 20 times now and i am still getting goosebumps :)
I really like the video and the lyrics, you are so creative, congratulations since Puerto Rico. By the way I was in your library two weeks ago, it is very nice!
Gosh this is brilliant :-D I'm a librarian myself and this is really cool new librarians :-) Let go of our dusty old image, finding information for patrons is cool!
Wow -my mother always taught me if I didn't have anythng nice to say, don't say anything. Great job you guys! And please note, people, all the necessary credits follow at the end!
This never ceases to give me joy. I watch it at least once a quarter to rally the spirit.

I'm retiring soon and I couldn't really put my finger about what was bothering me so much about what the job has become. You nailed it.
This is this best song of all time.

"She's a librarian, George!" ;)
Librarians, Gaga, and a Star Trek reference? Perfect video!
Much love from a librarian in Canada! Awesome job, everyone.
@Athenasbanquet Thank you!!
Fairly accurate representation of what librarians do. A friend of mine used to do the Macarena while he shelved. :)
You have made many people - iSchoolers but also those who love us and don't get many of the references - very happy. Brava!
How FABULOUS is this video!!?!!! Congratulations to everyone involved!!!

the man with the banjo has a very messy desk. I love this video.
That's hilarious! We had a rave at our library to celebrate the end of finals week.
I don't remember having this much fun when I when I got my MLS 27 years ago! (But I have had a lot of fun since then).
Creative way to get the message out--a lot better than just putting up signs!
we had to watch this video in my school library IM NOT JOKING WE HAD TO!!!!!
Still classic! We watch this on slow days at the reference desk. ;)
My hubby is a librarian, too. We laughed so hard. You all look exactly like the librarians over here in Berlin...

my mum (ahahaha) is a medical librarian, and i'm 100% sure that this is a true-to-life portrayal of her day-to-day
I read the beginning "Librarians from the future present", as librarians from the "future-present", a time period occupied only by time travelers. It explains everything.
I am totally sending this to my old high school librarians!
I'm so happy to brag that I work with these people!
This is the way I want every library to be!!
This spread around my work and we all thought it was so funny! I work at a library in Whatcom County! :)
As a fellow library student (Simmons) and human, I bow down before you.
Antelopes for the freaking Win!!! Brilliant piece Ms Wachter! You just turned a month full of suck around for this 2007 alum.
