Never torque any wheel by lifting up on a torque wrench ... always start in the 2 or 3 o'clock position and push toward the ground ! Sweet lookin' Whip there Steve !
Unless this is some weird advice rooted in slipping and punching yourself in the face or something, I fail to see why anyone would warn about wrench orientation.
Great video explaining some of the things people should expect and no about to make a better decision doing something similar to what you are doing to their trucks I have always liked the look 26” gives them and for the most part it’s worth the feeling of more road bumps hub centric rings are a must to keep vibration at different speeds out of it so you don’t think tires are out of balance and the 24” wheels with just a 35 series tire do ride like factory with just that little bit of extra sidewall for those people wondering
@@wfosteve7049 curious why did you switch to 24”s ? Was about to purchase these an was already looking at the same setup 2/4 drop with belltech suspension on my 15 Silverado but! The 24”s cost more than the 26s on audio city site . Didn’t know witch one to go with so it would be great if u could give me some info on why u changed. Cool channel 🤙🏼
My buddy has a 2020 high country with a 3/5 drop and 24s and he put spacers on but the wheel still rubbed that hump on the caliper, so they just ground it off smooth and re painted the brake so the bare metal didn’t rust it out.
Had been subscribed to you for a while & Im glad you made an informative video for us lowered 2019-2020 silverado guys especially about the brake calipers and rims ! Support from down here in hawaii🤙🏽
Man this truck is a beauty, I wish chevy cut that finder some more so we could add a bigger 26 inch tire on there but im sure any custom shop can do some cutting on the finders and you can have the look and the plush feel of a 26 with a bigger tire
1 inch lift will get the tire off the upper fender skirt, because if you pull it up from under th hood will probably not go anywhere, because it's already that factory screw up there in the upper part over the wheel well skirt where it rubs and that screw is probably drawing all the way up which means Defenders cart will not move any further.... I also heard that some of the Chevys can be adjusted to raise the truck. ?
Thanks for the video Steve.. you did awesome by the way! I have a 2019 GMC Sierra and thanks to you I know the size to get.. I just hope I don’t have that same issue with the brake caliper. But if my truck turns out like yours, it’s worth it either way. Thanks again
Awesome info. I just recently got some 26” replicas and they ride real good except when I get up over 60 mph I get a little vibration. I’ve had them balanced twice so maybe a hub would help. I don’t know. I agree with you, 26 inch rims look perfect on those trucks. I have a 2018 Silverado crew cab myself. I love how it looks. I have them set up with sunny tires 305/30r26 tires. I’ve been told those tires aren’t the best but I’m new to this and didn’t do much research. Up to 55-60 mph it rides real good though. Love your truck!
Hey bud, love the Silverado, looks clean!! I've watched your videos about the 26 " issues". I have a 24 Silverado RST and I want to put 26s on it. Just wondering with those hub centric spacers if you ever had any problems and where they steel or aluminum and also did you ever figure out the lug nut issue?
So is the goal to make it a lowrider? I ask because its starting to look that way. It looks good, but to me that just kinda defeats the purpose of having a truck. But if its the lowrider look, it looks good and its coming along.
D.A. J. What is the purpose of having a truck then? To lift and go mudding? You act like the bed and tow package were removed lol. Mine is lowered on 26s as well and I can tow and haul anything I need to as if it were stock! You get much better handling and looks as well! Stock is lame, And lowered vs. lifted is just personal preference. By the way, by definition a Lowrider is a classic car lowered or on hydraulics with 13x7 spoke wheels and white wall tires lol, Far from a lowrider!
I use to always put 26s on my F150 until I realized that it’s just too thin of a tire and it was unsafe. You can put 24s on your truck and if you want it to look nice and be safe then you can just lower your suspension to your preference.
@@wfosteve7049 what size is the bore for your hub rings? The guys that installed my wheels told me I didn't need any since I'm running 26'' snowflake replicas. I've had the wheels balanced, truck aligned, as well as had the wheels checked for dents.

Hey idk if you’ll see this comment but you did a 4/6 drop on 26s did you initially have any issues with rubbing and if so does just moving the wheel well liner help

Hey man That’s a Mighty Fine Son of a Gun 🔥💪🏽 And Thanks for the tips I’m actually Installing 26’s on my Chevy a week from now. So I was wondering on the tire size that tire looks Good enough for me man 💪🏽 Thanks and God Bless
So did you have any vibrating when going highway speeds? mine does when I hit upper 60's and 70's, That's what I'm getting with my .25" spacers now, thats why I think I need hub-centric wheel spacers...
How much did you lower it? How much did the the drop kit run you? Also, was it just that particular wheel brand/model that required the spacers? Or any brand would be the same?
Did the new spacer being machines perfect for that hub and wheel help with vibration at high speeds? I still have some vibration after two wheel balancings. What gets me is it’s almost non existent some times and other times I feel it. I don’t know if maybe they move in the studs sometimes or what. Where did you get those babies made? I’m considering the thinnest one possible so it doesn’t really stick the wheel out anymore but just enough to get the benefit of a well centered wheel. Awesome video. You bring up stuff no one else has. Keep them coming!
What air pressure do you use in your tires? I just put a set or 26’s with a Lexani Thirty 305/30/26 tire on my 2016 Silverado Lt 4wd. I’m unsure of what psi to use.

Did you ever think of trying to grind that extra rib off the back of the caliper? Maybe it was there because it's easier to cast with that rib versus additional channeling between two Pistons? I actually don't know the answer but throwing it out there.
@@wfosteve7049 most cars that is in fact true. Calipers are hollow & made of cast molding so how thick that metal is in any 1 particular area can differ tremendously in comparison to a billet caliper of similar shape that would be much more consistent.
