I had a cattle dog for 14 years. This breed will protect their owner to the death of itself. Fabulous dog!!!

Does anyone know if it’s common to this breed? We just rescued an ACD and I’m a first time caregiver to this breed I have never experienced this teeth clapping before with all the dogs I have owned. Thank you if anyone has info.

That's a good boy! Heelers are a lot of work to raise but so worth it. They're so loyal and protective. I love my little blue more than anything 💙

Boy are they! I was delivering car parts out in the country years ago & got lost & this Queensland Heeler comes barreling up to my truck to attack it.Needless to say I got the hek outta there.

My ACD x girl was super protective, but when a pile of poodle puppies jumped on me at the park, she stood back very conflicted. Like she knew they were puppies, but she had to save me. Beautiful girl ❤

I have a blue named Sagonise', he protects us this way, no cattle just humans, he don't bite less SUMONE they hurt mama & daddy then he puts body parts in his mouth other than that he just nips like this beautiful 💙💙 blue. WANDERFUL breed that ppl give a bad wrap saying they will turn on their owners, all in way raised & loved. They protect their domain...
Good friend to have in such situations. I can hear the dogs anxiety while on the job.

We had a slightly agreessive bull a couple years ago. My young daughter was introducing our 2 new pit puppies to our livestock & I was introducing our blue heeler puppy to them but we were in the rear. The bull was going towards my daughter & I sent our heeler towards the bull. She did awesome & as a 2 yr still amazes me.
Damn you can even hear the bite the one strong ass bite and beautiful dog

Australian cattle dog
An ACD is a handful as a puppy. Lots of nipping but it will never hurt you. Just give them plenty of playtime, toys to chew and destroy and some good obedience training. I have one and she’s just full of love and loyalty.

Those teeth snapping together…thats the sound I hear every time I have to give my sundowning, blind, senior dog his shot of insulin. Dudes caught me a few times, last time he got my thumb good and a month later I still have a divet in my nail and a large splotch of blood still trapped under it. Be nice if my dog was biting to protect me instead of trying to kill me. Actually never mind, before the dementia, right after I adopted him, he shot out the door and bit the fck out of my Uber eats delivery guy and I thought I was going to get sued. Thankfully he just wanted proof of vaccination.

One day I was dropping hay bales off the back of a ute to a herd of 15 bulls. ( Show cattle )
When I wasn't expecting it one rammed the ute knocking me flat on my back. I was winded & broke two ribs so was unable to move.
I thought I'd be crushed but although the ute was surrounded and so was I, they reached over me & fed.
(They were totally aware of where I was the whole time.)
I was covered in hay & slobber by the time I was able to get up!
I was concerned I'd be crushed, but I was TERRIFIED I'd be pooped on more! 😂
