    These are great instructions for normal (daily cleaning).
    This is NOT "deep cleaning" when the fryer has been used by teenagers and not cleaned in a month.

    We want advice on HEAVY DUTY CLEANING, not this pansy cleaning on a brand new air fryer. We need industrial strength help.

      Seriously…mine has an overhead heating element like the one shown and the metal hood over the coil is coated with grease. The only solution I have seen is getting a thin bottle brush to get in there. But then you are just dipping your brush at the end in clean water to try and get all of the residue out.

    How do you clean the bottom slots below the basket in the immediate front?. Lower lip collects grease too

  • @captinbeyond
    @captinbeyond 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I wonder if you can put aluminum foil under the basket and form another catch basket for drippings? And after cooking something , you just toss the aluminum foil. I hate cleaning up 5 or 6 places after cooking.

    • @justmep61

      I don't see why not. I put sheets of foil on the bottom of my oven.

    Drying kills many germs, but do remove the gunked buildup first. Non-stick surfaces are easiest to deal with, so do give those air fryers affirmative consideration when purchasing. 👍

  • @eMegMBea
    @eMegMBea 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Ok, but even with using dish soap and hot water, you're still putting grease down the drain. I thought you weren't supposed to do that?

      My thoughts exactly, there are too many areas where food can splatter, collect, and nothing about an air fryer looks better than using a conventional oven

    • @dylanf3108
      @dylanf3108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@captinbeyond Air Fryer heats up quicker (so it’s more time saving and convenient to use), it works better for certain foods (fries come out better in an air fryer as do vegetables), and a lot of them have presets so if you don’t know what temp you need to cook it in the oven you can put it on in the preset for the air fryer.

    • @donnakkasper6634
      @donnakkasper6634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@captinbeyond try a Cosori. Easy to clean, even the heating element. Basket is easy to clean, soap and water, like any other pot you would cook with. Yes, there will be some buildup-kinda like your oven looks when you haven’t cleaned it in a while, but if you wipe the heating element area every time you clean up, it will stay very clean and germ free. The heat kills all the germs anyway. Try one. We love ours. Cooked a whole chicken-rotisserie style- in less than an hour. Watch Fabulessly Frugal and Cooking with Doug on TH-cam.

    Gourmia Airfryer Oven - I bought it 2022 christmas. NOTHING gets the cooked on grease off anything - it adheres to the metal and the inner top area between the 2 heating elements is almost impossible to get to. Of course we tried non abrasive scrubbers, bar keepers, baking soda, norwex rags. I called their CS rep and he laughed at me and told they don't help with how to clean. I thought because it was "stainless steel" I wouldn't have this problem. HA! The basket eats up the scrubber. How do you scrub the medal over the fan without the product getting in through the vents to the fan. Yes, I'm angry.😠

  • @pauld7861

    Just put fairy liquid and water in it then let it heat up for 5/10 mins at 180 then rinse out. Give a quick wash with fairy liquid and a soft sponge then that’s it. Only really need to do it once a week, or cleaning something stinky eg fish or scampi. 👍🏻

    • @eMegMBea

      But all the side vents won't allow that on most air fryer trays, which sucks
