    I pulled my ENTIRE Air Fryer apart and cleaned all the fat build up out, I literally "rebuild" it. Took 3 hours and now I clean it every time I use it.

      EXACTLY. Washing AFTER EVERY USE will prevent that. Also, when I'm lazy....I put water in my airfryer a few drops of dish liquid and turn it on! Have a GREAT weekend!

    I'd put a spoon or so of DAWN in the pan/pot or whatever it's called- put hot water in almost 2/3 way up-- then sponge the top off with that water... for the grate- use a bottle brush- and dunk it in the water that's in the pot first... IT's the INSIDE of the unit itse'f that I can't clean on mine- I have the lift up lid speedi-meal unit (for now- I"m getting a drawer one soon). There is a foaming Dawn that you can use too-- leave it right side up and spray the silvery part side and bottom and let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then wipe and it ALL comes right out.. These companies need to make these units so the burner will just pop out-- like on an electric stove-- so it can be cleaned-- but I don't think they do-- YET>.. WE all need to suggest it to them.

    Those baskets are so non stick it’s quick to take apart and wash each time, much better for me than build up scrubbing, but thanks for the lesson on cleaning the housing. Also, those looped plastic bun shaped scrubbers are great on non stick surfaces, much quicker than a brush, though a brush may still be needed to get into crevices.

    Good tips, thank you. When I wash my grate, I also take the rubber stoppers off and give them a good rinse. A lot of gunk builds up underneath those, and I would worry about them popping off and disappearing into the bottom of my dishwasher so I always wash it by hand.

    • @lrlgr2366
      @lrlgr2366 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had my air fryer (same model) for a year and only wash the insert by hand using a nonabrasive pad. . I find that the nonstick coating is going away, and the rubber pieces have split.

    • @CarbonTech19
      @CarbonTech19 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lrlgr2366 That's why they sell replacement parts, at jacked-up prices, lol. I know you can buy the insert, with bumpers, on Amazon for about $20 Canadian. The bumpers alone cost about C$14.00, so getting the combo seems the way to go, especially if that apparently one atom thick non-stick coating is starting to go. Cheers.

    This is the best video I seen regarding the care of these appliances. I was considering getting an air fryer for the holiday. However I'm lazy and I hate cleaning stuff like this. So I'm really glad I watched your video. Cuz I really can't be bothered.

      Still easier than bending down and scrubbing out an oven. Air fryers can just be rinsed and wiped often, with a deeper clean every couple or so uses.

    I've never had my Air Fryer get that bad and it's 5 yrs. old. The worst is around the top where the oil splashes and cooks onto the metal around and on the fan, but I can't really get to it to clean it--I just pray it never catches fire! They don't design them for us to take apart to clean properly. It's planned obsolescence. they just want us to replace it with a new one!

    • @CarbonTech19
      @CarbonTech19 ปีที่แล้ว

      That grease, just like a cast iron pans seasoning, has probably turned into a fireproof polymer from the constant heating and cooling cycles.

    • @MrDragos360
      @MrDragos360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why I don't intent to buy evern again an air fryer until they improve the design. If junk gets around the heating element and the fan the unit becomes e-waste. Mine had a lot of fat and oil update and it started to smell and look rellly funy, so considering I couldn't get there to clean it and the services was asking for around 90% of the shelf price in order to clean it I send it to a recyling plant and that's it. Never again.

  • @MrDragos360
    @MrDragos360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you clean the oil and fat that collects aoround the heat element and around the fan ? I had to throw away a Bravile air fryer because I got a lot of "stuff" up there and there is no way to clean in there at home and the service asks me for 90& of the shelf value to just clean it.

    Instead of using chemicals to wash the basket and the inside of the machine, I would recommend a handheld portable steamer, the steam gets to 200F and will clean the grease off without any issues. The basket and insides of the machine can handle 400F so the steam wont damage anything.

    I didn't agree with turning the air fryer upside down. The heating element is basically self-cleaning, so all you did was allow debris to fall on, AND THROUGH, the element's coil. Kind of counterproductive. Putting the air fryer on a raised surface, like a storage container, would allow you to see inside more easily, instead of craning to see inside.
    One more note. When you cleaned the bottom of the basket's chamber, it sure looked like some of the greasy brown soap sludge found its way through the bottom's seams and ended up dripping from the bottom of the air fryer. Perhaps a more contained scrubbing and clean-up, limited to that central plate, might have avoided that.
    Please excuse my semi-OCD, my wife hates it too, lol, and please note that I love your channel and have never found anything else to cry about.
