Please get The Spirit Keepers so you can do a deep dive! I got this one! I wanted it so bad and had no idea when I would cry seeing anyone else with it. I didn’t order it like a dumb ass cuz I was so new I didn’t know that some decks only come Out once! I missed out! So when I saw this one I ordered without even needing to consider! Something about the art...oh I can’t wait!
I have the indie diverse edition of the Simplicity Tarot and love it. I pre-ordered the Spirit Keepers Tarot months ago, even though I have the 2nd Edition: It is worth it because of the colors and additions to the cards. The Wandering Star Tarot will be my next purchase.
Great video! Thanks @LisaPapez 🤗 I must admit I got all kinds of FOMO from the Spirit Keeper's Tarot. But $77 + 26.95 (I need a paperback book. #oldschool) I just don't know...there's a bunch of mm decks I could get for that. Especially since I'm kind of a noob. But wow, the art work was just stunning and I got the strangest sensation of being in another time looking at them. 🤩
Yep - I get a similar feeling!! I will say, I paid a very similar price for the 1st edition + Book of Maps paperback (i'm old school too LOL) - and I never felt I'd overspent - despite the added CAD exchange on top of it all LOL - which I guess just goes to show the inherant value in what Benebell produces - at least in my opinion!
I love that your doing this, it's like hanging out with a friend chatting about what's coming out. I'm a crocher that crochet deck is a no for me. Wow the Revelation Spirit Keeper is gorgeous. That glow deck looks really cool.
You are such a delight to watch/listen to & put a smile on my face. I love how positive you are even about decks you don’t plan to get. I definitely am excited for The Yarn Tarot, and I don’t do anything with fabric- it’s just so cute looking!💗
Loving this! I found out about the Somnia Tarot because of a podcast I listen to called The Tarot Diagnosis. They interviewed the creator of the deck and he talks about his background (his struggles with insomnia from a young age), the concept for creating the deck, and how he did it (he created the rigs used in the pics, staged it, and photographed himself). I highly recommend that people listen to the interview if they’re intrigued by this deck. It’s super interesting and very insightful. It made me want the deck even more 😊
ROFL! I was totally embarrassed that I got them mixed up because the art between the two is actually really different. LOL Dustin's gonna hand me my ass over that one, I'm pretty sure 🤣🤣🤣. I had to leave it in there tho, because I'm ridiculous! LOL. Thanks for watching!
Oh if you preordered the Somnia Tarot, you would have gotten a newsletter update. The decks are scheduled to begin shipping early September (so any day now!). (I preordered this one too. 😂)
I can't wait the last email I got said he won't receive the decks until September 6-16 then he'll start to send out so middle of September if no more delays
I''d better stop while I'm ahead - just ordered the Wandering Star on Amazon. It's $4.00 off their Amazon price for preorders, which brings the price to $22.99. Love how the keywords are incorporated into the art work. Great idea. I'm done shopping for the day! 💕💜🌹🦄🌹💜💕
I pre ordered the Somnia earlier this year and I can not wait to finally get it!!!!! I agree, the images really are haunting and there are certain cards that almost creep me out.... and I'm soooo intrigued by that. 😅 I feel like this deck could give very interesting readings and I'm eager to dive in.
OMG, thank you so much!!! The creatures in Gentle Creatures are so the Hrossa for me from the CS Lewis space trilogy, first book, Out of the Silent Planet!!!!! I'm gushing and that order button was pushed!! I love as much as Narnia. Oh they are so the beings in that book!!! Ok, stopping now...
Just ordered the SimplicityTarot Lisa. I love the diverse coloring on this mass market version.US Games either sold out at the moment, or the decks have yet to arrive. Great video! 💕💜🌹🦄🌹💜💕
The Glow Oracle looks so fantastic! And the add-ons include greeting card packs (blank inside) which I am always on the lookout for, these are perfect for notes to friends.
😍 The creatures / the vibes from The Gentle Creatures Wisdom Oracle Deck kinda reminds me of the book Where The Wild Things Are ! I’m definitely going to purchase
I normally have a hard time with oracles, but there's something so lovely about Gentle Creatures that's tugging so hard at my heartstrings, and I could see it pairing well with so many of my other decks 😥 so tempted to preorder it!
I have the Kickstarter decks of the Simplicity Tarot and Wandering Star Tarot and they are really lovely decks to add to anyone's collection. I totally recommend them.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about moonroot tarot. It’s currently on Etsy after being on Kickstarter (unless I missed you talking about it before). Also I love these series. It’s fun to see what’s coming out but it helps from getting fomo. I totally think the vintage RW tarot is meant to look like lithograph prints.
Lisa,I love these videos.!!!!!! 💓💓 There is another TH-cam creator who does them and I have a hard time connecting with his vive. I hope you continue to do these. Thank you!
You're right, it might be risky to buy an out-of-print deck. However........ It doesn't look like this is a problem with the Buddha Tarot, but when the Ancestral Tarot was re-released, the guidebook was *nothing* like the original. It would be worth it to purchase a first edition copy of this deck just for the guidebook if I loved it. And the Wandering Star tarot? I impulsively bought it when I found it by chance after the Kickstarter. It's eye-catching, beautiful colors! The art is so consistent that it took me some time to see the nuances from image to image, and then I was hooked. I love the extra "yes" and "no" cards. The guidebook is good, and has a quote for every card. Since the price of the mass-market is around $30, I think the quality will be good. So many decks! Thank you for doing these videos, love them! 🥰
That's an EXCELLENT point!! Sometimes it happens in the reverse too. When I bought my indie Dark Goddess Tarot from Ellen Lorenzi-Prince, I couldn't get a full size guidebook (except through the app or pdf) but when Schiffer picked it up, now there's a gorgeous guidebook for it - I'm tempted to buy the Mass Market just to get the book (and will eventually, I think). :D
I actually backed the Glow Oracle because of this video. I'm in love with animal oracles and this is so unique and cute. I really hope it gets funded but I don't know if it will 😭
I’ve tried all morning to back the Tarot Disassembled but it seems to be OVER even though it’s says September 2 which is today. Can’t find anyone there to contact. With any luck 🍀 future.
I did get a reminder early this morning that I was running out of time to back it - so it did close today - but earlier in the day... so looks like the campaign closed today. I know that can be frustrating BUT keep an eye on the campaign anyway - often there's an option to late-back or pre-order once the know how many people are confirmed on Kickstarter vs how many decks they're ordering from their printer!
I don't know how I'm only seeing this now but I was so nervous when I saw a "hot takes" video that included my work! I was ready for some real tough love and criticism haha! Even if Paper Oracle wasn't for you, I'm glad you liked the artwork and some of the creative choices!
I want to get the Mandala Healing Oracle and if hopefully it is matte add 3 more keywords per card that relate in some way to the image or the original keyword. That way when shuffled whatever they “land” on is the keyword I would read. Though will have to see when I get it - maybe the images and 1 keyword will be more than plenty for intuitive reading.
I backed tarot disassembled, and for me it struck me as a "here are the things that might be in your bag if you draw this card"....kind of an RPG perspective, like these are the tools that this card represents. I don't know why, but this really clicked with me, I can see laying out several cards and trying to figure out how I could use the tools shown to address the situation at hand. I was definitely sad to see the macabre tarot low price was only for Canada *cries though I guess it saved me from spending the money LOL
Yeah I have no idea what was going on with the Canadian pricing on Macabre but I preordered it because why not!? lol And I love the idea of the RPG / this is what's in your bag perspective on Tarot Disassembled!!
I literally just got the Gentle Tarot last week. I’m so torn about getting the tin pocket edition and big guidebook. I don’t feel like I e had enough work with this deck to know if I need another version of it yet. So I keep holding off. I’ve had my eye on and off Wondering Star Tarot for a while. Part of me says yes and part of me is like nope don’t need it. Lots of decks coming out though. I think I have more than enough to play with at the moment though. I did order a long time ago the SKT Revelations. I’m not sure I want to do that much work to get to know all of the symbols in it right now but I do feel like the color will make a big difference and I wanted to have it for when I’m needing a hardcore deck to deep dive into. The book and journal I ordered printed and the book is massive. It all seems so overwhelming right now. But I’m ok sitting on decks until their time emerges.
That's a nice video. And having the links to all the decks is just an act of love. Thanks a lot. Some comments on some decks: The Somnia Tarot reminds me of the art of René Magritte. It has that same "too real to be real" look and that dreamlike surreal motives. ... The Paper Oracle Lenormand is really nice. Especially seeing card 37. Yet ... in case of Lenormand. I think I'll stick to the idea: If I'm going to learn the system I'll start out with the Story in Color Lenormand. The Gentle Tarot ... I adore it, but I don't seem to connect enough to get it. ... I've got some issues with the Decolonized Tarot. Mostly because I don't see how decolonization is going to be achieved here. With the #LandBackTarot ... I do realize how it does in an instant. Here I'm wondering ... Edit: And while researching a bit more ... one of the creators wrote about including some queerness (in the minors). I've been wondering - for the sex/gender binary is a very Western concept and there are many Filippino third sex/gender traditions.
I backed the Coastal Curiosities deck. Originally, I thought it was by the same person who makes the Crystal Ball Pocket Oracle on Etsy (Athene Arcana). (The only negative I can say about that deck is that I wish it had more cards.) The layout and feel are so similar, I didn’t even bother to check. Turns out, it is not the same person - I am in no way implying this deck ripped off the other at all. But if you have the deck from Etsy, I think it would work well with this one. I just find them both to be utterly charming and I love the style.
There are several beautiful Latin American decks for sale on eBay that many may be interested in. The Tarot of Alina Percovich has richly colored images, sometimes in inky black backgrounds. Very magical with a surrealist tinge. Gorgeous card stock and cool backs. There is also the Tarot Arte de Luna Rivas. This is a sunnier more color saturated deck with a slightly whimsical flavor. The images remind me of Robyn Taich’s delightful The Minute Tarot. Both are in Spanish. Collectors will want these!
Good Karma tarot was related to Cosmopolitan in some way, IIRC. I think flowers out of butt was Hieronymus Bosch. And the Magpie’s Lenormand has caterpillar, pupa, moth instead of child, man, woman. I love it, but YMMV obviously. Meowholic’s campaign has restarted, ending in October and attracting more attention this time. I’m backing Coastal Curiosities, but that’s probably not much of a surprise. You need the glow deck, really you do.
Hi Katey! I'm delighted you took a gander at Dan May's Gentle Creatures! His other deck is Into the Woods. That's with the awesome Lucy Cavendish as author. His Gentle Creatures are so wonderful. I had to go non-binary with them. :D
The reason I funded Coastal Cyriosities is because tgey said the were from the puget Sound area. I have a soft spot for local or even locally born and raised artists
I backed the Somnia deck. They are supposed to ship this month. Woohoo!!!! And my 2nd edition augenblick tarot and oracle decks are currently en route. September is going to be a good month!
Thank you so much for including Coastal Curiosities Oracle Deck! 💚 I'm the creator and really appreciate the love and support the community has shown for the deck.
I'm getting the SKT... again! Lol. I have both other versions. It seems very different this time and the book is epic. Somina creeps me out. Kind of in a good way. But I've not ordered it. I don't think I'd use it.
Just binging some tarot videos while I knit and I was curious about the status of the Maven Tarot when you started talking about it. The creators have still not logged in since creating the campaign! I wonder if they forgot their password?? lol Supposedly the deck shipped in September, so there should be videos on youtube about it by now, right??
I normally do not preorder cards but I am interested in the Simplicity Tarot. Looks like a pretty cool deck and something I would enjoy working with. As someone who crochets and knits I am disappointed in the Yarn deck. So don't think I will buy that one. For me on an out of print deck I have set an amount that I am willing to pay over. Like I won't pay more than $20 more than what it once was before it was out of print and it has to be new and unopen for me to pay that much over. I know that sounds picky but that is the way I keep myself under control.
I also wanted to mention that I think I was the one to tell you about the Forest Enby Tarot. I'm nonbinary and sometimes it's hard for me to connect to human decks that's why I adore animal and nature decks. When I saw a nonbinary animal deck I screamed with joy. This deck means so much to me and I don't even own it yet.
These are great videos - but so dangerous for me (last time I went and backed Aunt Lily's Tarot on Kickstarter and I only found out about it from the video ;) ) - wasn't the Cosmo related deck the Good Karma Tarot? Kerry Ward writes for Cosmopolitan.
Also, yeah guys definitely research the history/organization behind Osho aka Bagwan Shree Rajneesh/Rajneesh Puram. That's not something I personally want to ever give my money to, but I know that tarot deck is super popular.
I backed the Magpie Lenormand on Kickstarter, I received the deck and did a flip through on my channel. There is quite a few cards that have been renamed and the cards are not numbered, so definetely not q beginner deck. The cards are tarot size. But I love the quality, the images and the palette and the gilding. I was hoping you would mention the Untamed Mystery Tarot, do you have impressions of that Kickstarter?
Oh I spotted it - my list was SO long this month holy moly. I've not yet felt called to any of the decks that Wheel of Fortune company has put out so far. They seem very focused on production quality - but otherwise fall a little flat for me, in general.
Omg! So much goodness to look forward to! I’ll be getting the mass market editions of the Simplicity Tarot and the Wandering Star Tarot even though I have the indie versions 😆!
Printing of the cards on Pinterest is good.for your tarot journal especially if you don't flash it around especially on the net ( which is similar don't do ) not my thing to flash my journals around especially on the net
Hi Lisa, I don't think it's your 'thing' but if you had any recommendations for tarot that are designed to work on sexuality that would be great because the only tarot I know of is the sexual magic tarot and it's not my favorite.
I have tried (and tried) to find a deck with a sexy vibe that also feels open and empowering rather than subjugating in any way, but I have really struggled to find one!! :( I've checked out several but all the ones I've tried to connect to have felt too gratuitous or shallow to me :( I consider myself sex-positive, but the ones I've seen all feel more 'romance novel-style' than modern or relatable. 🤷♀️
I'm very tempted at the Sugar skull Tarot, but I cannot get over the fact that the backs aren't reversable. The Tarot at the End of the rainbow, I've seen it in person, the pictures don't do it justice! It's amazing. But again, the backs aren't reversable. Why do people do this?
I wish the Yarn Tarot had more texture to it; I also want it to look more woolly. I also love my Gentle Tarot and haven't been tempted to get the smaller one but... but... yeah, now i'm looking at the tapestry add on. 😂 I love Mari's work too.
PLEASE CONSIDER REPORTING THIS CAMPAIGN! 38:40 I reported this campaign (Maven Tarot - Office Occult) for suspicious creator behavior, because this complete disregard for backers’ questions and concerns is SUPER SUSPISH for these 70 backers to get completely ripped off.
More people need to report more corrupt creators to Kickstarter. So many ridiculous things happening in the deck space of Kickstarter and no one complaining. Do people really have $70 to just throw away over and over on some of these projects?
@@gingerblue I’ve only been completely scammed once in my well over 100 Kickstarter pledges, but I’ve had way more slightly disappointing experiences. Still, some of my favorite decks were Kickstarters, and they don’t all get reprinted or go mass market, so I still take my chances. But obvious sketchery like this campaign needs to be reported!
@@gnomie2.0 Same with me- one deck did not arrive and they are still producing decks and starting new Kickstarters (Dark Synergy or whatever they are called). And I do get most of my decks via Kickstarter these days, and will continue to pledge. But I have become more critical about pulling a pledge if the creator isn't interactive during the campaign, or if they are rude to people who ask reasonable questions, or the deck isn't close to being finished. My biggest pet peeve now is the "I have this really hazy, nebulous idea for a Tarot deck and I want you to pay me $100 each to make it. I don't know much about Tarot and I've never done anything like this before but how hard could it be? I won't tell you about my idea because someone will steal it, so you'll have no idea what the deck might look like, but here's a few drawings I made on a napkin. I'm looking to raise $200,000 with $1950,000 going into my pocket for having this brilliant idea" campaign. And then complaining and relaunching the campaign 4000000 times without taking the time or effort to do some research and realize what's involved in creating a deck and a successful Kickstarter. For some reason that really ticks me off.
OMG, deck porn for an hour!!! I'm so on the fence about the Gentle Tarot. If a lot of people I like like it, it doesn't authomatically mean it is for me, right? But it is beautiful. And my first name is Mari, so there's that. I see the Meowholic deck was actually cancelled. Was that one cat deck too many for this world? What really got me excited was the Glow Oracle. I like the decks that teach me something - obviously hoping the guidebook to be really informative about the creatures. Seriously considering backing that. It's halfway funded with 20 days to go, and your video will surely help. Thank you!
@@Lisa_Papez yeah, I have no guilt about using it. (and like most of my decks I got it second hand) Plus I didn't realise she's Australian 😊 definite soft spot for my fellow countrypersons.
Some of those are very nice. Although none really made 'need' to have them. I seen a few of the same on TarotOracle's channel & only saw 1 there as well, the: Heather Roan Robbins - starcodes astro oracle: 56-card deck and guidebook. And recently picked up, The Ark Animal Tarot & Oracle deck by: Bernadette King.. . StUNNing!!
It took me a while to figure out the controversy around Osho Zen, so I'm putting up this link for anyone else who is curious. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajneesh
yeah, H.P.Lovecraft was not known as "loving". his ultimate expression of devotion to his (brief) wife was locking pinkie fingers and grunting ,"ummphh". #providence.

Edit: And while researching a bit more ... one of the creators wrote about including some queerness (in the minors). I've been wondering - for the sex/gender binary is a very Western concept and there are many Filippino third sex/gender traditions.
The gentle creatures deck ( both of them ) coming to my home 😎 yes you were right 2. different publishers. 🌟
Oooooh the Glow deck ❤️🤪
OMG YAS to all of this. 🤣🤣 Flowers out of butt guy IS Hieronymus Bosch!!! :D And YES on Good Karma Tarot, I remember now - love that deck so much!
You are so welcome!
I backed the Coastal Curiosity 😅😜🤣
Ooh I love Lindy Longhurst. I will definitely be checking out that Mandala oracle.
Oh no that Cosmo deck. Not for me. At all.
I'm getting the SKT... again! Lol. I have both other versions. It seems very different this time and the book is epic.
Somina creeps me out. Kind of in a good way. But I've not ordered it. I don't think I'd use it.
There's no flowers out of butts😂😂😂
Loved this Lisa! So fun to see all the decks coming up and your bubbly enthusiasm for everything. If I did this it would be, nope, nope, nope. Lol
I funded the Orphic Tarot and I also think it looks bloody... but that's exactly why I ordered it xD Can't wait for it!
These hot take videos are fun Lisa!
So glad you enjoy them!
Brilliant video ! Many thanks🧡
Me thinking you are crazy if you don't get the new SKT deck.
Yah, me too LOL I took the plunge yesterday!
That is so awesome that you found this deck!!! And thank you for the heads-up on it as well!
The Cthulhu Deck is a Kickstarter and hasn’t even shipped yet! That really irks me. (I backed it.)
The art in it does look pretty amazing. But weird they would be offering additional orders already without fulfilling what was promised yet.
@@TheHallbjorn The new orders would be for a mass market version but they shouldn’t release that before Kickstarter is fulfilled.
@@meredithmonroe9723 Yeah it would be weird to be 'punished' for helping get it off the ground in the first place.
Ooof that's frustrating!!! I really hope you get your Kickstarter version before they ship new orders!
The macabre tarot is only priced that low for Canada. It’s only 10% off in the US. :( they won’t ship to me.
Aww bummer!! That's weird too because I can order from the .ca or the .com site (though I pay shipping and duties on the .com)
YES!!! good memory! Mine failed me in that moment. LOVE the Good Karma Tarot tho!
That Glow Oracle is so good I backed it
I’m so curious about Lewellyn/ Los G’s new Tarot V. It looks so striking but I couldn’t buy it. I’m a chicken.
Can’t wait for Somnia to arrive! So captivated by it.
I'm not buying Cosmo, Disney, Buzzfeed, or any other corporate tarot.
Also, thank you for sharing your feelings about Osho. Im with you.
Is there a Buzzfeed tarot now too? Oh my word.
@@Lisa_Papez I know there is a buzzfeed Oracle but I don't know about tarot. I hope they never make one EVER.
@@Lisa_Papez Let's hope that one artist will team up with a tarot reader to create a beautiful deck some day !!!
just give in.. Buy them... you know you want to... no one will stop you... 👼
Wow! Simplicity Tarot is amazing!!!! T F S 🤗
Damn, the Macabre deck isn't it that pre order price anymore. I was about to preorder it
I'm very tempted at the Sugar skull Tarot, but I cannot get over the fact that the backs aren't reversable. The Tarot at the End of the rainbow, I've seen it in person, the pictures don't do it justice! It's amazing. But again, the backs aren't reversable. Why do people do this?
Oooh I'll keep that in mind if I get a chance to view Tarot at the End of the Rainbow in person at my local shop!
@@gingerblue 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think we’re on the same page here
OMG, deck porn for an hour!!!
Thank you!
What is the problem with osho
I have the diverse edition and love it.
I ordered 3 other decks though from this show.
I should point out that osho himself died in 1990, well before the Osho Zen Tarot was published. I would imagine he didn't have much to do with it 😉
Yeah, my understanding is that Ma Deva Padma pretty much did the whole thing.
And recently picked up, The Ark Animal Tarot & Oracle deck by: Bernadette King.. . StUNNing!!
Oh I think I've heard of the Ark Animal one!
It took me a while to figure out the controversy around Osho Zen, so I'm putting up this link for anyone else who is curious. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajneesh
Thank you!!
Flowers out of the butt is Bosch 😂
Now if only Robert M. Place's Vampire Tarot was picked up to be reprinted. *sigh*
Who knows?! Maybe it's next!
@@Lisa_PapezI hope so. I really dislike so many of the vampire decks that have come out lately *cough cough* dark wood tarot
The author of Good Karma Tarot writes tarot predictions for Cosmopolitan
OMG YES that was the one I was thinking of - and I LOVE the Good Karma Tarot!
Tarot of the Void only ships to Europe. That's why it's not going to hit goal.
Oh! I hadn't noticed that. Yeah, that really does limit the market!
yeah, H.P.Lovecraft was not known as "loving". his ultimate expression of devotion to his (brief) wife was locking pinkie fingers and grunting ,"ummphh". #providence.
The flowers out the butt I think you are thinking of the Hieronymus Bosch tarot!
Lots of pouches 😍
Frustrating when they say SEPTEMBER 2 but close it SEPTEMBER 1st. Isn’t that crazy????
Real talk about the real talk tarot (hehe I'm witty lol) it definitely isn't just you. It looks uneven and bowed for sure
Haha..i would never buy a deck made by a magazine company….it would have 70 cards of advertising!
Pronounced "hodorofsky" as he is a Spanish speaker, the J is as H. ; )
