OMG Empress I picked this in my reaction package too. Firstly this song is part of the Rhythm of Love era from 1990/91. The singles were Better The Devil You Know Step Back in Time What Do I Have to Do Shocked. This song was released when I went to my first gay club in Adelaide, Australia. Considered a gay classic that still goes off when Kylie performs it live today. Rd the video - Madonna had been releasing videos like Express Yourself and Vogue and this caused female singers to start releasing videos with different looks especially referencing looks from past decades. This is my favourite Kylie song of all time. So glad you love it as much as we do!
To me this is THE Kylie song (trivia - her sister, Dannii, dances with her in this video in the club scene...) She looks incredible and her vocals are on point here. Dance floors were filled every time this track played in the clubs back in the day. Part of the Kylie-Holy-Trinity of "Better The Devil You Know/What Do I Have To Do/Shocked". You cannot sit still while this one is spinning - love your reaction!
This song is from her third album (which also includes two songs co-written by Kylie and Stephen Bray). It was basically Kylie's emancipation phase. She finally had a say in the song writing and the styling.
Damn girl. You're bringing the heat tonight. Yes. This was when Kylie reinvented herself. She went from bubble gum girl to dance diva. The aesthetics for this video are 10's across the board, alone. Better The Devil got it going and this pushed it over the edge.
This is still my all time favourite Kylie song and music video, 10 out of 10 for the costumes/make up to the art direction vocals and the song ❤️❤️Kylie is a style icon.
This was from her Rhythm of Love album (her third) at that time her popularity was waning a bit but this was the first time Kylie had any input in what she did.. The 4 singles from that album are referred to by fans as The Golden Quartet cos they are all straight up bangers…. Her popularity continued to dip throughout the 90s before she came back with a bang in the 00s
This was from 1991 and my fave video of hers. She projects the images of the Hollywood sirens from the sixties in the guise of Bridgett Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. Love all her looks 😍 And yes this is a remix of the track from her Rythm of Love album
I’ve basically grown up with Kylie! She’s a year older than me and I have loved her since locomotion! This is off the Rhythm of Love album and is my favourite song and video of hers. So glad you’ve done this reaction. Kylie is so beautiful and it shows in this video. The concept of it is to mimic so many glamorous women of the time - Joan Collins and Bridget Bardot amongst them. The scene where she walks onto the balcony is among my favourites, she’s just so stunning! This when I woke up to how stunning and amazing she is. To me she is one of the most beautiful women in the world. Amazing song, artist and video!!
One of my fave Kylie songs ever. It was so such a joy to see you react to it with so much love and enthusiasm! I think this era really turned her into a pop icon
This was the third single from the Rhythm of Love album, you have already reacted to Better the Devil You Know and Step Back in Time. Which were the singles before this, and I think Shocked is still to come. I love the ironing scene too because, in a video where Kylie was dressing up as 1950/60s Female icons, the last thing you expect is her doing the ironing. This video is from 1991.
You go gurl! This is my absolute favourite song of all time! I was 12 years old when this song was released in the UK. And it STILL remains my favourite song EVER! I'M 43 tears old now... I'm basically a middle aged man! This will be MY song till the day I die. xXx
Fun Fact: one of the dancer in the video is actually her sister Dannii Minogue and the man in the video is Zane O'Donnell who was in a relationship with kylie at the time
This has to be early 90's s with this dance pop sound of that time and the way the video was shot. I love her Kylie album. Love the saccharine sweet innocence if it all
That was her boyfriend a Model for a few years in this era after Micheal Hutchinson from INXS. I actually was a Cat Walk Model in the late 90's in London & Paris & worked with him a few times on the Spring/Summer & Autumn/Winter events. Great guy & I met Kylie alit at the after parties she is so tiny lovely & stunning. There ain't many artist as kind & down to earth. No this is not a remix this was #epic when released in the UK & Europe! From her Rhythm Of Love album which you need to listen to & have in your life There were major plans for this album to be released in the US but it never got off the ground unfortunately. Could of seen the album doing well in the US at the time oh well.❤👍🤩 Love your reaction #kylie #WhatDoIHaveToDo #RhythmOfLove
This song is tied with "Spinning Around" for my favorite Kylie song. I love that scene with her ironing too. She really brings it when she sings this song live. This song is from 1990. It's from Kylie's 3d album of 4 with Hit Factory producers Stock, Aitken, and Waterman. What you're seeing here is Kylie starting to pull away from the control and influence of the Hit Factory and her girl-next-door image. You're also seeing Michael Hutchence's influence on Kylie. I think you can also credit Madonna and Janet for setting the standard for females in pop music in the late 80's. By 1990, Kylie would have really had to improve her game if she was going to keep up with the likes of Madonna and Janet Jackson... not to mention the countless other female pop stars in the game at the time. The 80's and 90's was incredibly competitive for females in pop music. This was the beginning of Kylie growing up and showing off a sexier side of herself. She serves a similar look in her latest video "A Second To Midnight".
Yes totally agree she was serving🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤩🎶💃🎶 major looks & my favourite look is the black slit dress with white background & her sexy hair & makeup also the pool scene with the now on trend big black eyebrows this video was ahead of it's time she could release this now & would be fine.🙂👍❤ The ironing is genius 🤣😂😂 you crack me up👏👏👏
Kylie has passed the test of time! She has a huge body of work! Nice reaction! Nice vocal at the end! Do you have an audio interface? If not, it would reduce audio lag enough for a sing along!....:)
This was around the time that the press was exclaiming that ‘Kylie had discovered sex’ lol…..it was a much more sophisticated look and sound and kind of marked her cross over from bubblegum pop to credible dance music. I still think this is one of her best tracks and videos.
She received horrible press at this time, truly nasty stuff - criticising her body in a way that would shock the #metoo movement - there were articles saying she had a child’s body, was flat chested etc etc. quite how she got through that period and remains the grounded, classy and still successful lady she is 30 years later is a thing of wonder! This is still one of her best periods in my view - the run of singles from Rhythm of Love was awesome
I’m so happy you love this as much as I do. This track is timeless. I remember freaking out to it age 18 in the gay bars and clubs. Literally everybody would get on the dance floor when this was played. Good times!!! 💙
My friend styled this video, he asked me if I wanted the pyjamas she’s wearing because they were in his house and I said yes but he never followed through 😂 This era was fire, she became a woman before our eyes. And the singles were amazing.
Empress, I love you're reaction videos. X I’m a massive Kylie fan and want to became a Patron. Will you promise that you will do Kylie videos and music as I became a patron with another TH-cam reaction person and they under up being more for one artist? Please answer me please xx?
Tattoo is fake.her sister dannii who's is 3yrs younger so just hit 50 is the one dancing and chatting with her in the club.the blonde beehive type hair and the leopard fur coat she is wearing she also wears in her new video a second to midnight with Olly from years and years is a nod to this video.
I love that ironing scene too, Great reaction
So cool right ‼🤣
I was 15 years old and grew up in a rural village in Far North Queensland, Australia 🤣👌💖🙏👍 loved your reaction. One of my favz from KM.

And then comes her turning point.
Confide in me
Put yourself in my place
Where the wild roses grow
I loved that area even more.
But I love her at all
This song is from her third album (which also includes two songs co-written by Kylie and Stephen Bray).
It was basically Kylie's emancipation phase. She finally had a say in the song writing and the styling.
This is a slight remix to the album version . I LOVE IT. I also love the Ironing Kylie. Rhythm of Love era. !!!!!!!

🤣no wonder I got Joan Collins vibes
@@EmpressReacts Actually the look in the club was inspired by Joan Collins. She was also wearing Thierry Mugler during the ironing scene.
@@millaananova 🤣🤣love it
One of my favourite Kylie videos but if you liked this one you’ll love the next one called ‘Shocked’ and yea this is my favourite Kylie era
Yes pleased react to ‘Shocked’.

Yep this is fire from Kylie. She looked so good in this too. I remember this well as it was around the start of my clubbing days in 1990.😁
This song is pop perfection
Her majesty Kylie minogue .. Kylie is a goddess of music ..... To me jejej
Classic KYLIE!!! What an utterly fabulous career she has had - and she’s still an absolutely adorable and classy woman!
Kylie is deffo the best looking female pop star 😍😍😍
