It was always made clear that the Republic's fighting forces adored Anakin. All part of Palpatine's plan, of course. He knew that when he eventually turned Anakin, the army and navy idolising him would come in handy. It was part of the reason he was so angry when Anakin got himself all Vaderised. Anakin could have capitalised on their love, but Vader could only exploit their fear.
Sure, but Vader was also respected by the Imperial Stormtroopers for fighting on the front lines with them, unlike most high-ranking Imperial officers.

If I recall, Anakin took the time to read up Yularen’s military history, as shown in Cat and Mouse, possibly showing an attempt to earn Yularen’s friendship and respect and learning from his past experiences. The pair, while not exactly close friends, were probably still friends.
To be fair, Yularen requests for more fighters to be scrounged up after Ki Adi Mundi’s clone troopers request it, and by the time Anakin asks for it, he has just gathered a spare squadron. It’s a funny parallel but there’s kind of a reason in the episode besides Anakin accepting a compliment and Ki Adi Mundi rejecting it.
That was kinda wholesome seeing throughout the Clone Wars how in the beginning Yularen was skeptical and about Anakin and his leadership, but over time he grew on him and respected him and his decisions a lot. They almost had a friendly relationship and Yularen took some inspiration from Anakin with the way he worked. Really enjoyed seeing him loosen up a little and even joining Anakin on his mission with the stealth ship and being all in on it in the end of trying to take out Admiral Trench.
ki adi mundi was such a well-written character to illustrate the sheer arrogance and incompetance of what the jedi had become that allowed the sith to rise. prequels were pretty brilliantly written when you see the larger picture.

His heart was in the right place I feel, unlike some more hardline Jedi. Yoda even admits this in comics. In conclusion, if the Jedi Order had simply evolved and accepted Anakin the way he was, he would never have become a sith or evil in any capacity. The Jedi Order never really gave him a chance, discriminated against him, and let their adversary manipulate him freely in their own backyard. The result is obvious in hindsight, even to Yoda as mentioned previously.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Jedi Master and had a seat on the high Jedi Council. He fought in many battles and survived many fights, never thinking about the possibility of being lucky. He was skilled and solely relied on it, without realising that it could bei his greatest downfall. Unfortunately, He was so overconfident refusing to believe in luck that he eventually had to rely on it without giving a second thought. Ironic, He could never admire luck. Even If it saved him countless times.
To be clear: - Ki was hurt/leading at the time. He lacked the leisure to personally call - Yularens negative killed clones. Because the force still had to end up at the right spot on time - Immediately after Ki's call, Yularen ordered to scrape air support together
Even if Mundi was injured, he still could've been on the comms instead of his captain. I imagine Yularen spoke with Rex briefly before Anakin spoke, likely done offscreen that could've gone something like this: Rex: Admiral, General Skywalker has requested to speak with you. Yularen: Very good Captain. Patch him through.
This proves Anakin may have been basically a psychopath in military standards for planning but he definitely was not an ass towards his men. He gave his men respect and expected them to come back in one piece after a mission.

It always annoys me when the Council looked at Anakin and were like, "he's disrespectful!" Meanwhile, you look at this scene, interactions with the chancellor and everyone else and he shows absolute respect and admiration. Because the council didn't like that he wasn't their pawn.

I don’t think this is Yularen choosing to help Anakin over Mundi. I think it’s him having to change his bombers for a ground attack mission which can take time. Yularen is a professional officer and dosent strike me as the type to let his personal feelings towards a commander interfere with a military operation.
Reminder that Yularen became an Imperial die-hard and one of the top dogs of the ISB. The man became a high-up in Imperial Secret Police, he was so fed up with all this Jedi bullshit, and eventually died aboard the Death Star.

As a Kid, I used to call Ki Adi Mundi “Ki Adi doodoo head”. Never knew why, but seeing these comments, I can see that my random animosity had a purpose even if I didn’t then understand it lmao
I don’t think this is Yularen choosing to help Anakin over Mundi. I think it’s him having to change his bombers for a ground attack mission which can take time. Yularen is a professional officer and dosent strike me as the type to let his personal feelings towards a commander interfere with a military operation.
Reminder that Yularen became an Imperial die-hard and one of the top dogs of the ISB. The man became a high-up in Imperial Secret Police, he was so fed up with all this Jedi bullshit, and eventually died aboard the Death Star.

to be fair by the time anakin called yularen it had been abit since ki adi mundi sent his message by clone through to yularen, so mabye they had succesfully taken a point where they needed Y-wings to succesfully take the area, and now they have been freed up to aid anakin skywalker
