I got to port a basic testing shirt in the Sims successfully :D I have also found a way in case anyone is wondering of how to successfully use the latest version of blender using your tutorial combined with the current videos of blender for a step-by-step process I shall post here (you still need blender 2.7 so Sims4studio recognizes it since Sims 4 studio does not recognize any file after 2.7x series of blender). NOTE: I am using a .fbx transfer because its the only one I found that saves the entire mesh without much distortion or removal of anything within the mesh save for weight paints which you must do in Blender 2.7. For some reason at least for me, the current version Blender 3.2 .blend files cannot be appended or linked in Blender 2.7 for me. If anyone has any issues with this or wants to tell me a better way to port for Blender 3.2 files and up, please let me know! 1. Marvelous Designer Port to Blender: *Only* Select all patterns, Single object, Unweld, Thin, *Unified UV Coordinates*, *Include Internal Shape*, Scale m, Save with absolute texture file path. 2. New Blender Rename UV Map in mesh to *uv_0* and adjust uv size based on the sims 4 uv map given and add in which part of the sims mesh you want (also make sure body layer and outfit layer are merged!) 3. New Blender Data Transfer: Source object *ref*, Check Face Corner Data, UVs, uv_1 and uv_1 on the current outfit mesh; If uv maps in uv_1 is warped, transfer has worked 4. New Blender Vertex paint: Make sure in Solid to be in this mode, You have to set via the hexcode in the color wheel or wherever to *#00ff00* for the sims 5. New Blender In the small Paint tab, *Set vertex colors* (shift K) so the whole outfit mesh would be green. 6. New Blender: Remove Doubles in Edit Mode either by *old ver* W and click Remove Doubles or *new ver* select all and click *Merge Vertices by distance*. 7. New Blender Baking Textures: 1024 x 2048 for new image for baking. Also make sure to have a image texture in shader editor to allow baking in cycles (For more in depth guide for the types of textures, I can provide a link but for a simple flat color pick diffuse and color only, for all pick combined and in CYCLES) 8. Old Blender 2.7 port: Save as .fbx then open Blender 2.70, in the active data tab, under CAS tools, type *0000* in cut, scale the mesh in xyz to *1.0 scale* (you press n for the popout to scale it) 9. Old Blender Weight Paint in Blender 2.7: Select ref object then outfit mesh (for me it was reverse for some reason) and then click on the transfer weights in weight paint mode (For other game ports that are using newer blender vers you instead make sure to make in Vertex map: *Nearest face interpolated* and Source Layer: *By Name*) If weight paint goes above current outfit mesh, it has worked 10. Sims 4 Studio Save the file as the 2.70 blend file and open it in sims 4 studio and adjust swatches and settings you want 11. Blender Use decimate tool for different LODs whether in newest of blender to be ported back with .fbx to blender 2.7 with adding new weights or just do it in blender 2.7 (levels of detail in the settings of Sims 4 studio mesh tab)

Import your mesh to a nude top package! The package file you're trying to import your garment to more than likely has more cuts than your mesh thus causing the clipping issue that you're having. Hope this helps!
hey, so I got to the point of 31:51 to Append the exported "ref" file from S4S but when I clicked on it and navigate to Object folder theres no s4studio_mesh and apparently the exported .blend file also missing some folders as well. Am I missing something here? Edit : So I found a workaround, I installed Blender 2.70 along side 2.79 and set S4S Blender Path to 2.70 and export the reference clothes with 2.70 in the path. And then I opened 2.79 and Append it actually shows the s4studio_meshes. I don't know if this how Miss ME did it but it works for now

You can separate with the UV editor. You have to make sure both the 3D view and editor are in selection sync and then you can use the 'B' key to select the UVs of the Sim and doing separate by selection in the 3D view!
Hi, idk if you'll reply to this or not but I tried my hand at making a dress and it all worked well but when I'm in CAS and I give the sim the dress there's a weird finger glitch and I can't seem to find why that's happening or how to fix it. Hello! I understand what you're saying! Firstly, you want to make sure you select the uvs for your custom mesh on the uv_0 map then make the uv_1 map visible so you can see if it's on the uv_1. I've had custom meshes that don't look like they're on the uv_1 when they are so having them highlighted helps! However if you still don't see it then, there are occasional situations where Blender won't do the data transfer correct so, it's okay to try it again! But! If all else fails, please shoot me an email with your project file so I can take a look! My email is: missmecustomized@gmail.com Thanks!

@@connie171717 Hi! Please make sure that when you do the data transfer, you're adding the modifier to your new mesh that you've made and not the reference mesh. Also make sure you're transferring the UV_1 and not the UV_0. Here's an image for reference: i.ibb.co/LNnm1v9/dtref.png
@@MISSME12 Thank you so much with the fast reply! Also when i imported the mest into s4studio, the reference mesh was showing, i was wandering where i went wrong?
@@borndolllover Some meshes have what are called cuts (i.e. S4Studio_Mesh_1, S4Studio_Mesh_2, S4Studio_Mesh_3, etc...) and if you're importing your custom mesh with 1 cut to a package file with multiple cuts, the original mesh will show on top of your custom mesh. It's always a good idea to use the Nude Top for new, single cut, meshes. Hope this helps!
For some reason when I import the mesh into blender it's not showing up? Because it's been a few years I have a more updated version of blender so maybe that's it, but I open the model, then import the obj file (I've tried it both as normal and a legacy) and it says it's imported but I don't see it
How many meshes you see depends on what mesh you import for reference. These are referred to cuts and not all s4s meshes will have the same number of cuts. As long as you see [S4Studio_mesh_#], you can use it as a reference!
I downloaded the programs you provided but I’m confused by the notes you added. Could you explain what you meant? I’m not very experienced with computers.

I did map it (im creating a tank top btw, so i can’t delete the arm area map or whatever) so i placed my tank top parts in between the arms of the UV map... then i data transferred and applied. But it did not do anything. I couldn’t see the parts i placed in the UV map
@@roxanneluna7727 Make sure the UV button is actually clicked (it has to be blue) and that you're transferring the uv_1 and not the uv_0. One more thing, make sure the uv for your custom mesh is named uv_0 and not UVMap. Hope this helps.

Hi! I could've sworn I posted my reply yesterday but I guess it didn't take on the website! Anyway, I'm going to say that your mesh doesn't have a uv_1. Try the data transfer again with your ref mesh (@ 32:42) and check the uv_1 map after doing so!

I want to be able to take a picture and copy the dress/whatever it is from the picture, turn it into CC for the sims 4. I don't have blender but it'd be cool it I was talented enough to make sims 4 clothes
What if my mesh is made of different parts embroidered to the main part? And each of those parts have different "picture" cutouts that were achieved of by cuting an outline around the object so it fits perfectly inside.
Instead of having the thing on 33:50, I got this small dot that IDK why after Data Transferring Im doing a long dress and some parts don't appear on where the body parts are, will update this comment once I finish the meshing process [EDIT 01] Whenever I morph the mesh to any plus sized sims, it turns out weird and clunky although it looked fine with sims with regular to thin body type but not on bigger ones
Hello, make sure you've named your UVs the same as the Sims4Studio_mesh UVs or else your custom mesh's UVs will disappear and/or turn into the small dot you see in the corner. Without the UVs for your mesh, the data transfer won't work properly and you'll get the clipping you see when you morph your sims larger than the body you used to make the garment. Hope this helps!
This was very great, I have a problem tho. I followed every step, but idk why and how to fix the fact that the uv map is like huge, I have to zoom all out to realize that the uv map is there but it's impossible to resize bc I can't even highlight all of it, it's too big. Idk why i have this problem. Not only, appearently they also are one over the other one, even though I checked in MD as you suggested, before exporting the obj. What should I do
I even uninstalled my blender, even tho appearently it was the same version (2.7) but nothing. Could it be a problem of marvelous designer? I have the 9.5 version.
Another thing, I saw you uploaded also some male avatars, did you upload also a blender male model in the folder in the description? Bc I can't find it. Or just if you know where I can find it, I've been looking everywhere and I couldn't find one.
Hii! Thank you for posting this, it has helped me alot!!! The only issue I'm having is when I open my obj in blender and look at the uv, the dress is overlapping and piled ontop of eachother in just one big blob rather than each part of the garment being separate. Please help me :(
Before exporting the obj from MD go up right corner and click on simulation, select UV editor and rearrange your elements so your exported obj’s uv map won’t have any overlapping elements.
Love the tutorial, super helpful. Do you happen to have a blender avatar for the default EA male body or know where I could find one? I couldn't find one in the asset pack, and I'm having trouble finding one anywhere online.
I've also been running into this issue where I open the avatar in blender, import the obj file, and then it just isn't there. Like, I can see the name in the dropdown list on the right, but it's not rendered anywhere in the 3d zone. I imported the tutorial shirt and it worked just fine, so I think it's an issue with the way I saved or made it in Marvelous Designs
Great tutorial! Thanks a lot for explaining every step and making it easy to follow. I'm having a problem with MD however... When I open the program the 2D Pattern window and "Untitled" window (as the actual workspaces) are the invisible. I can only see my desktop behind it (or whatever program I have behind MD) and I can't work. Been looking all over internet for a solution but can't find any. Do you might know how to fix it? Also make sure to have a image texture in shader editor to allow baking in cycles (For more in depth guide for the types of textures, I can provide a link but for a simple flat color pick diffuse and color only, for all pick combined and in CYCLES)
8. Old Blender 2.7 port: Save as .fbx then open Blender 2.70, in the active data tab, under CAS tools, type *0000* in cut, scale the mesh in xyz to *1.0 scale* (you press n for the popout to scale it)
9. Old Blender Weight Paint in Blender 2.7: Select ref object then outfit mesh (for me it was reverse for some reason) and then click on the transfer weights in weight paint mode (For other game ports that are using newer blender vers you instead make sure to make in Vertex map: *Nearest face interpolated* and Source Layer: *By Name*) If weight paint goes above current outfit mesh, it has worked
10. Sims 4 Studio Save the file as the 2.70 blend file and open it in sims 4 studio and adjust swatches and settings you want
11. Blender Use decimate tool for different LODs whether in newest of blender to be ported back with .fbx to blender 2.7 with adding new weights or just do it in blender 2.7 (levels of detail in the settings of Sims 4 studio mesh tab)
THANKYOU FOR BEING THE ONLY TUTORIAL FOR SHOWING THE SCALE
Okay, so it took me about 2 1/2 days but I created that top and I´m so damn proud right now :D
Thank you so much for that tutorial.
For anyone having problems with the baking, my baked shirt was a total mess with black sprinkles. If you have the same problem: Don´t use the version of the top where the normals are already flipped! Use a save from after the vertex painting but before flipping the normals.
Great video though, very much appreciated!!
I am a 3d modeller of clothing, I used to work for a company that makes mods for GTA V FiveM, but I always wanted to create for the sims!! I'm struggling but it's fun
I know its part of the evolution of digital programs, but I really wish there was a way to make all versions have the same interface. I'm using the latest versions of all the programs in this video. Because of the different ways the programs are setup I found it hard to follow along. Once I imported the same body into blender and noticed that my body was still white and yours looked a sims body it all pretty much went downhill. I got about as far as 21:15 and could not proceed. 23:05 my template did not appear on the left. Is there an updated version of this video?
tell me about it.... im majoring in game design and making 3d art in general is already complicated as it is. Like yea there are tutorials out there online, but it doesn't help when the methods being used are "outdated" or the UI looks unrecognizable in tutorials
heyyyy. make sure you’re in textured mode instead of solid. it’ll look like a grey ball! turn it to the red and white circular thing
Youre so cute when you keep correcting yourself xD thank you so much for creating this indepth tutorial ^^
Can I just say- YOUR CHANNEL IS SOOOO UNDERRATED !!!
Jesus, this is what a true tutorial vid should be like. I just finished making my first top and seriously, none of it would have been possible without you. I watched a lot of other videos but yours is THE ONE!! Again, thank you so much, you just earned yourself a new subscriber. Your content really is amazing.
P.S : your voice is lovely :)
Thanks soo much for this, it's very detailed, just what I need. I have been struggling with spaghetti straps and dress and now I finally made one, still working on it. The only place in the video where I couldn't follow was the texturing in blender. I will definitely be watching that video next and supporting your patreon. Thanks soo much, you're refreshing, most creators will do a rush job and they are hard to follow.
One of the best tutorial sooo far! I had a very hard time doing that but I finally did it! Can't wait to create a summer cc collection for my sims
Amazing tutorial, thank you! The amount of detail you cover in Blender is honestly amazing! You did a great job and I have to thank you :D
you are amazing and i love you and everyone loves you! thank you for including files of templates! it really helps me out as most videos dont explain but you did very well! thank you
thank you so much girl!! for the body! I couldn find it anywhere so happy rn thank you again!
Great video! Thank you so much. I like you how explain things in more detail. So many tutorials just skip over stuff and they assume that we can follow right along with their massive logic leaps. It's so frustrating.
Thank you soooooo much for making this video ^-^ , i've watched so many others but for some reason i just didn't get what they were trying to explain\ it never worked , you made it very simple and i'm actually able to learn so ty again
Thank you very much! I think yours is one of the best tutorials I have seen about the whole progress. It also was described well and wasn't too slow or quick. :D
I really enjoy your tutorial. I wasn't sure to create clothes, but your explanations give me the motivation for. Thank you!
OOOOOOOOh Miss Me...love the tutorial..thinking of getting the trial version to see how I do. I am getting a bit fed up of creating painted on outfits. But love ur clothes and always grabbing them from LL. Only thing I will get confused on is doing this uv map stuff...but I will give it a try. Thanks for giving up ur time to share this with us
The way you talk makes me happy. Really amazing tutorial. Have a like and a sub :)
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm following it to make my first CC. When I Import the shirt that I made in Marvelous Designer to Blender it doesn't appear on the avatar or anywhere!!
When you export your mesh, in the .OBJ export window, make sure you axis conversion settings is as follows:
X, Y(Up), and Z
Best tutorial I've seen so far! Thank you so much, all tutorials I saw made me have so many questions but it's explained so good💗 THANK YOU DO MUCH! ❤️🥺 You are definitely a lifesaver!
This is the best tut I've seen for this and it deserves moar views
How did u temove the first mesh to import your new one 45:29 🤔 mine just combines with my mesh
I don't know if this how Miss ME did it but it works for now
Hi! I feel like I've ran into this issue before. What version of Blender are you using? It's possible to use Blender 2.79 but S4S will only export meshes proper with Blender 2.70.
@@MISSME12 I'm using the one you share on Mega, both 2.79 and 2.70, but when I look around S4S forums apparently the S4S add on in 2.70 need to be activated, I tried that but can't activate it (it just greyed out).
Wonderful work! Thank you for the tutorial. Please hurry with the textures tutorial. I can't wait to learn more!!! ;)
Hi, i have a question, minute 46:38 I have done till you work on the texture, I dont have a clue how to append the top to blender because when i try to do it it comes with all de upper body too, so i dont get what you get in the video, I hope you or somebady can help me ♥ thanks
The mesh won't import without the body without separating your mesh from it. You can go the the UV Editor, select your custom UV map and moving your mouse over to the 3D view, press 'P' and 'Separate by Selection'.
This is so helpful can understand now when I hit the button to have it all come together it all looked like a mess thank you
Hi! When i select uv_0 it doesnt look like the pattern in MD. Its just a bunch of lines. Help?? Great tutorial btw
Hey there, great Tutorial, exactly what I was searching for!
Sadyl I´m stuck at the moment. "Data Transfer" isn´t showing up by the modifiers, it´s just not there... Any guess?
Okay guys, it was my own dumbness...
Used the wrong version of blender. If you´re having the same problem, use blender 2.78.
2.78.0?
I have the same problem

Sorry to comment a second time, but how do you get the mesh to show on the base texture 24:44

thank you for all the tips. That was super helpful for new creators like myself!!
Hi! When I append the mesh ( 46:30 ) it appears with the top part of the body too! ; ; I repeated everything but still...
The mesh won't import without the body without separating your mesh from it. You can go the the UV Editor, select your custom UV map and moving your mouse over to the 3D view, press 'P' and 'Separate by Selection'.
@@MISSME12 OMG Thank you! This was the only thing I was having issues with and I was so close to the end :')
This is just... So perfectly detailed. Thank you so much for going through all this work, I'm literally just getting started with blender and making new meshes rather than just editing textures of existing objects, and it's REALLY hard to figure things out when you're starting out ^^'
I do have an issue though, so if anyone in the comments reads this and is able to help me, please let me know, it would be of huge help to me. I can't really figure out how to get MD? I know it's in the description, but I can't figure out how to install, and I'm not even sure I should be asking this so out in the open.
idk if u have solved this issue but u need to register on the md site bcuz md isnt a free program, but u can get a free trial!

Hello, I really hope you see this.
When I enter to edit mode, it doesn't let me select the UV on the left of the screen.
Am I doing something wrong?
Make sure uv selection sync is on.
Hi, i wanna ask how do you separate the clothing with the avatar at the baking part? thank you
You can separate with the UV editor. You have to make sure both the 3D view and editor are in selection sync and then you can use the 'B' key to select the UVs of the Sim and doing separate by selection in the 3D view!
@@MISSME12 ohhh, now i get it. Thank you for the help, the tutorial was really really helpful

were you able to use the bodies in the folder she provided? they're all .rar files for me
im having a problem...first when i imported my mesh from md into blender, it came out with the shirt AND the model. like the avatar was there and it was just making it look weird. so, i just deleted the model, no problem. but when i went to put the top into the uv space area it didnt show up like it did in yours. it didnt show up at all. sorry if this doesnt make sense but i seriously need some help
Hi! Can you email me your MD & Blend file so I can take a look? Missmecustomized@gmail.com

if you select(highlight) the clothes you made in MD then export OBJ SELECTED that should fix your problem
@@MISSME12 sure!
Great video! But i'm stuck ._. for some reason, my meshes aren't showing up like yours did at 31:49 in the video. It just says "lamp," I'm not sure if I missed a step or what but i redid the whole process of the video 3 times yet the meshes never show. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? - THANKS! (:
It sounds like you haven't set the correct Blender path required for S4S. Make sure in your preferences you have the directory for Blender 2.70 set.
@@MISSME12 THANKS!! That fixed my problem. But now when I do the weight transfer like in 33:37 - it shows underneath the clothes instead of on top.
@@queendomskingdom760 You must select the reference mesh then [shift click] select your custom mesh. When they are both highlighted orange, then do the weight transfer.
Thank you very much for this tutorial and the care package :)
thanks! they're isn't many videos talking about how to do this. :)
I loved the vid! Your tutorial is the best! ♥♥♥
after the data transfer at 33:43 my mesh doesn’t show up on that uv thing and i don’t know why could you help me with that please sorry if i didn’t explain it right hopefully you get me 💓
My email is: missmecustomized@gmail.com
Thanks!
Miss ME i think i might have to email you bc i’ve been spending the last couple of days trying to figure it out but it just won’t work, but thank you so much for replying to me 💓

I think I have the same problem. It looks like the uv_1 of the shirt didn't merge with the uv_1 of the sim. I've tried it like 8 times, tried to apply the data transfer multiple times and it still doesn't work. What can I do at this point?
@@connie171717 Hi! Please make sure that when you do the data transfer, you're adding the modifier to your new mesh that you've made and not the reference mesh. Also make sure you're transferring the UV_1 and not the UV_0.

Make sure you're using Blender 2.79 for that. Data Transfer is not available in 2.70.

Hi.. A lot of thanks for this wonderful tutorial... However I am stuck at 32:52 because i cant find the data transfer option. Can someone help me?

Hello. Data Transfer is not available in Blender 2.70. You have to use blender 2.79 for that.
Min 25, how do you CUT whit the mouse on the image?
wow this tutorial is amazing it helped me so much, thank you
the fact that i started with blender 2.70 instead of 2.79 I WANNA SCREAM AHHHH
Hello! You can open the blender file you made with 2.70 in 2.79! Its blender files made with 2.8x/2.9x that won't open in older versions!
@@MISSME12 Thank you so much your a gem!
For some reason when I import the mesh into blender it's not showing up? Because it's been a few years I have a more updated version of blender so maybe that's it, but I open the model, then import the obj file (I've tried it both as normal and a legacy) and it says it's imported but I don't see it
at 31:45 , i couldnt find the three meshes what do i do?
How many meshes you see depends on what mesh you import for reference. These are referred to cuts and not all s4s meshes will have the same number of cuts. As long as you see [S4Studio_mesh_#], you can use it as a reference!
I downloaded the programs you provided but I’m confused by the notes you added. Could you explain what you meant? I’m not very experienced with computers.
i've been doing this shit for 3h and i'm about to give up on the uv map deleting thing imma go to bed and see how it goes tomorrow
Don't give up, we can do this!
What do you mean, "deleting thing?" Can you explain?
Im stuck at 46:22 for the textures. I tried appending the custom i made but it appears with the top half of the body. Please help
The mesh won't import without the body without separating your mesh from it. You can go the the UV Editor, select your custom UV map and moving your mouse over to the 3D view, press 'P' and 'Separate by Selection'.
Wait another question, i tried to data transfer.

You can absolutely do it! All it takes is practice!
Hi! When I’m gonna do the textures and make a new material and have changed to solid my shirt still is the same colour. Doesent turn white like yours.
I have also noticed that the ”preview” of my color is black - compared to yours where it's a ”ball”.What is it that I have done wrong that caused both of the problem?
I’m sooooo thankful for help and thank you for this amazing tutorial!
I think this could be fixed by removing the other materials and making a new one, maybe? If it's still black, you can change the material color!
@@MISSME12 Thank you! I tried it and it worked, but now when I bake the texture it just turns plain black ( or whatever color I have chosen). While on the 3d view of it, it has shadows and isn't plain.

I have a question hun how do you pick what breast mesh to use as a base for something
Plz help me I don’t see the sims studios 1 2 and 3
Instead of having the thing on 33:50, I got this small dot that IDK why after Data Transferring
Im doing a long dress and some parts don't appear on where the body parts are, will update this comment once I finish the meshing process
[EDIT 01]
Whenever I morph the mesh to any plus sized sims, it turns out weird and clunky although it looked fine with sims with regular to thin body type but not on bigger ones
