This is just unbelieveable Jeff!
I drove the real track back in 2015, it's as close as you'll get without lasers. Those orange triangles get annoying at times though on the TV cams.
I kid you not. You should narrate children's books or something on TV. Sometimes I watch your video(which has fantastic content, mind you) for the enjoyment of listening to something relaxing(and the fact that im an avid sim racer). But I feel like your're missing out on other potential top dollar deals. Cant say how you'd go about it but I say you give it a go. I'm sure others have said the same. Undoubtedly. Keep it up champ. Been following the updates on this track with much joy, Brun has really got a number here. I loved skeeting wide and going off the kerbstones and my wheel dipping from the concrete into the gravel, followed by a dip where the track shallowed out at the old hairpin... that whole sence described with so many words, for just one single corner i took too wide with all the information going through my ears, eyes and direct drive wheel... just thát attention to detail is very admirable. Well done Brun!
I know what you mean, it's rare that you have to be careful 'rejoining' from the 'wrong' side of a curb in racing sim, but there are a few instances here where it's absolutely essential. It's a perfect example of the well observed details that are present throughout.
One of the greatest flowing tracks in real life is Phillip Island, Australia. Pity there isn't a decent mod for it as it would be great to race on.
Yeah, that's a good shout actually, and I'd love a decent AC version.
I agree also, the version in iracing is pretty good, would be good to see a version of some of the great Aussie tracks to AC

It’s a close call for me between Donington or Oulton as to which is my favourite, although Cadwell Park in a caterham in VR is just a blast

Just drove this 15 minutes ago in the Gamer Muscle Seat Leon, awesome track and a great Mod version of it. This is a must have for all AC fans ! Great video as always Chris.

I just tried this out the other day, as I'm a huge fan of Donnington Park. I had an ear to ear grin while wearing my Oculus! I'd love to see this converted to rF2, as there don't seem to be any real good versions for it. However, as I'm enjoying AC more and more since the release of Sol, I'm still a happy puppy. Great video Chris!
Thanks Patrick. I haven't given it a go in VR yet as I'm still not feeling 100% - but the run from Redgate to Mclean's in VR, in a single seater is spectacular.
So I'm guessing Chris, that this isn't the version from one of my all time favorite classic racing games, TOCA2?
But I will miss the airplane sculpture as you fly down all those windy corners - that looked so good in the old games...

Yeah, the spitfire, Dunlop bridge and the spark plug are very much missed. I think all 3 were sold when they tried to modify the circuit to accommodate Bernie Ecclestone ;)

Great video as per usual Chris. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Donington, it's one of those tracks where I never feel like I've nailed a lap, maybe it's just me. I'll definitely give the mod a download though
Thanks dude - it's worth a try with the new version. The changes to the curbs are subtle, but really do help matters.
I've always considered the Donington mod a must-have for any AC install. This just seals the deal as a top-10 track (up there with LilSki's masterpieces, imo.) Great video as always - I especially enjoyed the music in this one.

Having a blast on this track, been doing 80/90's DTM series. Some super fun battles.
When I first got Assetto Corsa and the original mod I must have put in 50 hours in the DTM cars at Donington. Such a great combination.

I love this track, it’s probably my favourite race track in the UK. The flow of it, especially on the national circuit like you said, is almost perfect. It’s one of the few tracks that feels almost perfect in every car you throw in it. This update pretty much guarantees this and Spa will be my Top 2 most driven tracks in the game, possibly driven more than Spa!
I must admit, I was never a fan of the GP layout on the old version of the circuit, something felt a bit off about the Melbourne Hairpin - it may be my mind playing tricks on me, but it feels much better in the new version!
It is so good to see the notification from the channel, always great news. I loved the Saleen livery, very good taste. I'm downloading the track right now, the national circuit is one of my favorites, especially when driving cars with little to none downforce. Good to see you back.

Chris, masterful job as always! I'm a bit late to the party after the whole league race thing! I agree, donington is so fun and one of those "easy to learn, hard to master" tracks. And yeah, racing GT1s, i noticed quite the raise in difficulty in the fast corners!

Enjoyed the video, my first one of yours! I love this track, I grew up a 20 min drive from it and my dad was a marshal there for a good few years.
Hey Matt - thanks dude. I'm down south, so I've only managed to get up to Donington once, great venue, wish it was easier to get to! Being a frequent visitor to Brands Hatch, I'm sure it's in good hands with the new owners.
That looks like a really well made track, many thanks to the developer('s) of this track for producing such high quality content, I've been out of the scene for a while but I'm hoping to get back into it soon, just need to set it all up on Linux
Hey Peter - It's a very nicely put together track. Something I didn't mention in the video is how well optimised it is, which isn't always a given with mod tracks.
@@ChrisHaye I know from a lot of personal experience that some tracks have awful optimisation so it's good to hear that isn't the case here, it's a shame that in many ways a lot of these mods are held back by a limited selection of assets that are freely usable and limited track making tools/guides

This was a really cool track for me to play because I'm at the track every year for Download Festival so it was actually cool for me to actually get to see the full extent of the venue and it it definitely a very good course

Hey Marco - I'm a big fan of RF2, but the fanbase is a lot smaller than for some of the other sims and the videos take longer to make. So, I only really cover the stuff that really interests me.

I love the 1.15 version it is just stunning. In my opinion visually better than Kunos tracks. The fps is lower too, just ton of 3D objects (for example no ugly 2D people like in some places in Kunos tracks), great textures and many more. No need to upgrade the track for me it was already best looking track in AC :).

I'm amazed at your videos' lack of artifacting. In my experience TH-cam's compression wrecks havock on everything I upload. How on earth do you avoid this?
Thanks man. To be honest, there's still some degradation, the raw footage looks a lot better. I upload a 1440p 60FPS MP4 at 30Mbps - which is the maximum youtube will allow for that resolution / fps combination. My understanding is that TH-cam only downsamples the file if you exceed the maximum bitrate for the file spec - so generally, what I see on TH-cam looks pretty close to the file I upload.
@@ChrisHaye Hmm, I wonder if it's the 1440 that makes the difference. If that's the case, then it might be a good idea to upscale 1080 videos to 1440 before uploading. I think I'll have to experiment with this.
