Nice bike mate! Love the look of the BMC, how tall are you? You may get away with a smaller frame, typically it's the reach to the bars that is an issue. One suggestion, swap your pedals for road specific, the shoes will be stiffer that will improve power delivery :)
You might want to dip the nose of the saddle slightly when using the Tri bars to make a slightly more comfortable experience:)

I'm 185cm. Yeah I find this set up pretty out stretched, I did think about changing the stem. I will try and dip the saddle a bit! The shoes I have are carbon and fairly stiff but the pedals are rubbishy mtb ones. I'm looking at changing this all over to speedplay actually, if you have any experience with that system? I've got the pedals just need some new shoes and the cleats. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Nice Bike! How do you feel riding in a TT position compared to say a road ride position? I’ve done several TT’s on my Sworks Tarmac but without TT bars. ( They call it the Eddie Merckx division here,Lol)..

Thanks James! I've only just put them on in the last few weeks and it's been interesting. I felt "okay" the first few rides, it didn't feel amazingly comfortable but didn't feel any real soreness either. However, I felt it after, in the lower back. So it's definitely something to build into with short blocks of time. Moving the saddle around a bit helped as well. So I don't feel it at the time, feels pretty speedy but getting some soreness post cycling. I did a 20km at the weekend outside mostly in the tt position and I haven't been to bad at all now after just a few practice runs.

@@alexreader Originally it was mechanical shifting when I bought it in 2017. I did upgrade to Di2 last year. Best move I ever did.LOL...My 2014 Tarmac SL4, is still all mechanical, but hoping to upgrade to Di2 if the frame will accommodate it, as well as the pocket book...$$$$$ LOL...

@@hammmer55 oh that's interesting, I thought if I was ever going to get di2 it would be on a new bike but maybe it is worth the upgrade 😬

@@alexreader I would check with BMC and see if your year and Model frame can accommodate a Di2 upgrade. Definitely cheaper than a new bike…👍

Exactly the same BMC as mine I've just put fulcrum zero compi wheels with ceramic bearings on gp5000 cont tyres could go tubeless If I want to go even faster but the thing just flies anyway. Just one more thing give your chain and cassette a good wash you lose so many watts with a dirty chainset also increases the wear of the components.

Amazing the SLR02? I do wonder what the superior carbon one is like. Recently I've been thinking it's a bit heavy but it your right it absolutely flies I love it, comfortable to!
Funny you say about the chain and cassette, I've just had to replace the entire drive chain almost because I let it get to worn down by the chain. 😭 its all spanky clean now though, won't make that mistake again 🤣 how do you clean yours?

@@alexreader I've got one of those cyclone cleaners which attaches to the chain and brushes for the cassette or I sometimes take the chain and cassette off. Best advice I can give is to keep on top of it👍 I'm a dry weather rider so only use dry lube if you use wet lube it tends to pick up the dirt more. Defo better wheels if you can afford it. You can spend spend and spend some more I'm no pro and to long in the tooth to be one the slr02 is a great bike for me and I can manage 17mph average without breaking a sweat I also live in Cambridgeshire so HA! HA! no hills to speak of. Happy cycling.. 👍🙂

@@stevensmith-go2lf love it thanks. I've got one of those too, a muc off one but I just need to do it more often. Think I've been overlubing to 🤣 I actually have just upgraded the wheels, I did a video about it but can definitely tell the difference now once getting up to speed it really rolls fast. Nice place to live 🤣 bit hilly where I am in Devon ha

I don’t think my anatomy could handle the TT position very long…😆

@@hammmer55 yea that's it. If I didn't have any triathlons lined up I wouldn't go for it but it definitely gets me some free speed which is nice
